@jbx10 thanks! Good to hear of positive outcomes. I feel a bit flat tonight. It's not bothered me through the whole lockdown that my husband has only been able to come to my 20 week scan but for some reason I just really wish he could have been with me today.

jbx10 · 20/01/2021 20:31

@wannabe123 I completely understand. I have been feeling the same this last week or so. The scans have not bothered me in the earlier stages, but I think as we get closer to our due dates and we have decisions to make around birth plans/labour/inductions etc. it would be nice to have them with us.

The whole Covid situation has been getting to me recently just in a bit of a panic thinking worst case my OH can't be with me. I'm just trying to count my blessings, baby is healthy & everything going well. What will be will be as everyone keeps telling me, not an easy time for us ladies at the mo!

LBoz39 · 20/01/2021 20:33

Hi. A bit late but could I join please? Expecting my little surprise 26th February

wannabe123 · 20/01/2021 20:42

@jbx10 that's exactly how I feel! I really thought at the start of my pregnancy that this situation would be a lot better by now. Both sets of our parents live over 6 hours away and although we can form a support bubble with one of them I'm not sure whether morally they should be driving so far to be with us but I also can't think about recovering from a c section without my mum!

wannabe123 · 20/01/2021 20:43

Welcome @LBoz39!

MissKhan1990 · 20/01/2021 20:43

My anxiety has gone through the roof over the last few days. I'm terrified of labour, the closer it gets the more l feel l won't be able to handle it.

jbx10 · 20/01/2021 20:46

@wannabe123 yep me too. I don't think anyone really predicted or anticipated it would go on for so long. If you need the support then I would say it isn't immoral for them to travel to help you. If you can bubble up together. Don't isolate yourself, the support will be so important.

@MissKhan1990 sorry to hear your feeling anxious. We have to keep strong and focused on the fact our babies will be with us soon! Our bodies were built for this & it will all be worth it ❤️

wannabe123 · 20/01/2021 20:55

@MissKhan1990 have you done any reading around hypnobirthing? The positive birth company book is really good at explaining what actually happens to your body and the hormones involved in labour. I have found it reassuring having a heads up about what is going to happen to my body (hoping I can have a natural labour!).

@jbx10 I think you're right, now is not the time to be a martyr!

jbx10 · 20/01/2021 20:58

@MissKhan1990 I second @wannabe123 I've also read the book and it has really helped me feel at ease! Also passed it on to my OH to read and he is finding it really helpful too xxx

pampero · 20/01/2021 21:12

I third that book, had some good explanations in.

On the car seat front, my MW told me the other day the guidance is also being updated from babies shouldn't spend more than 90 minutes in the car seat in a go, to just 30 minutes!

Ariana87 · 20/01/2021 21:45

Hi, hope I’m not too late to join? I am 35+4 with my third and have a pretty big age gap so feel like a ftm all over again Grin hope I’m not the only one desperately googling every single symptom to see if it means labours getting close Blush

Muriel84 · 20/01/2021 23:04

I also liked the positive birth company book. More so than their hypnobirthing online course which I’m in the middle of now.

I’m really struggling with worrying about my partner being excluded too. The idea of him not being there for the birth is too much. Reading posts from women who’ve been on postnatal ward for a week and haven’t seen their partner since the birth. Just so much uncertainty. I never ever thought I would have to give birth without him there. X x x

Safxxx · 20/01/2021 23:29

@LBoz39 @Ariana87 welcome ladies Xx

jbx10 · 21/01/2021 00:06

@Muriel84 I'm totally with you on this. The unknown is driving me crazy. I can't even imagine giving birth without him there. I'm self isolating now but his work aren't being as understanding, just hope after my appointment tomorrow they'll let him wfh until baby is here xx

30 minutes? 😂 Takes us longer than that to get home from the hospital lol

Hi. I'm 36weeks 3 days and due 15th Feb but having a c section on Feb 3rd with my second DS! Finding this pregnancy so hard, so much pain and awake at night and going to the bathroom! My boy is almost 9 now so feels like we're doing this all over again!

pampero · 21/01/2021 05:03

@onnaturescourse I know right, 30 minutes seems no time at all! She just said frequent breaks on car journeys where you take baby out for 5/10 minutes. Our family all live a good 2-3 hours away, it'd take us ages to get anywhere stopping that frequently! I'm not sure when it changed, I know it used to be 2 hours, then we got told 90 minutes when we bought the pram & car seat etc last year, so must be fairly new guidelines.

Char41zam · 21/01/2021 06:43

Well ladies I had a bit of a scare this morning, other half and I have not been having any intimate time but decided to and I woke up at 5 for the toilet and I was bleeding! It wasn’t bright red blood more like a pink colour and baby wasn’t moving for a good while so put a pad on to keep an eye on the bleeding and she has been moving about a bit, have not been able to sleep at all and it doesn’t help that I am having braxtons and also heartburn!

babbit87 · 21/01/2021 08:20

@Char41zam oh bless you, how are you doing now? Probably just shifted things about a bit! Glad to hear baby is moving lots ❤

Safxxx · 21/01/2021 08:25

@Char41zam Sex at late stages sometimes trigger on the labour, you could have kick started something. Could it be the mucus plug?

Safxxx · 21/01/2021 08:32

@Baby2onboard Hi welcome. I've also had a 9 yr gap, its not been easy this time round. Not long for your induction day 😍

jbx10 · 21/01/2021 08:33

@Char41zam Have you called the MW agree may have kick started your labour! Glad to hear she's still moving around. How are things this morning xxx

OnNaturesCourse · 21/01/2021 08:48

@Char41zam I agree with PP. Sounds like it's kick started labour - or atleast loosened your mucus plug.

Keep a eye on those movements. Are you timing the braxton hicks?

❤️

Ariana87 · 21/01/2021 08:56

@Char41zam I agree could have kick started things. With DC2 we dtd and my contractions started the following morning, but no loss of plug. They were really mild so I didn’t realise it was labour. Not sure if it was coincidental but I had no signs up until that point.

BL89 · 21/01/2021 09:20

@Char41zam I can't imagine how scary that must have been, reassuring that the little one of moving though. How are you now? I hope you've managed to get some rest now xx
