OK so managed to get hour and halfs sleep and woke up in agony, baby has shifted feet now on opposite side - would that really cause such lightening pains??

Safxxx · 20/01/2021 08:36

@babbit87 Has your babies head engaged yet? Mines not, its curled around towards the middle/bottom of belly, and certain movements can be uncomfortable.
I usually give my tummy a rub so he moves from my sore spots.
Since yesterday its been sore, now its eased off abit. Xx

babbit87 · 20/01/2021 08:47

@Safxxx no, last check head was down but not engaged. Had to power through to do the nursery run and it feels a little better from moving around. I'm up the hospital for OBS clinic today so they will have a good feel. They cancelled the growth scan I was due as it wasn't deemed necessary, maybe they will change their minds on that!

Muriel84 · 20/01/2021 08:48

Eughhh terrible nights sleep. I was reading your posts during the night. I try not to look at my phone 🙈 but nice to see everyone else awake too! 37 weeks today. Another month of this?! I’m amazed I didn’t wake my partner up. Clearly not huffing and puffing loud enough. X x x

Muriel84 · 20/01/2021 08:51

Just reading back through the posts. I am terrified of being induced. If anyone has some positive first birth experiences they’d like to share please do!! 😬😭😂 x x x

IamC · 20/01/2021 08:59

Same @Muriel84 37 on the nose today.

Heading out for a final scan to make doubly sure I can have an induction rather than a c section shortly....then the dreaded covid test 😬

babbit87 · 20/01/2021 09:01

@IamC good luck for today, hope scan goes well and that covid comes back negative 💕

Safxxx · 20/01/2021 09:23

@babbit87 in a way its reassuring that they're happy with the growth. Xx
@Muriel84 @IamC wow your literally classed as full term now. Hope all goes well at your Appt @IamC
Muriel try not to worry a induction will still be better then a C-section.
And a natural way is the best lets hope we all go onto a normal labour & delivery 🤞
I was told i will be induced at 40wks if it don't come by then...my others were before so hopefully this one is too 🤞

babbit87 · 20/01/2021 10:54

In hospital waiting room, they've upped their covid game since last visit... have to wear their surgical grade facemasks over your own.

On a different note......

Silly question but, just wondering what you dress a newborn in for February? My other two were summer born! What would you put them in for:

1 popping out in the car - home from hospital, supermarket etc etc. Where mostly inside but brief moments out in the cold

2 short walks - 10/20 mins

3 long walks - 1 hour +

Love to know what you all have xx

babydust2412 · 20/01/2021 10:59

I didn't sleep well last night at all either, wish I'd checked my phone to join you ladies 😂❤️
@babbit87 ive bought lots of bodysuits/vests so layering is an option, because then you can always take bits off if baby does get too warm xx
Also a couple of coats and a snowsuit just in case it ever does get really cold. For outfits I've got lots of sweatshirts and long sleeved bits with little joggers xx

Muriel84 · 20/01/2021 11:06

@IamC I hope it goes ok and they actually have a conversation with you this time! You’re soooo close now! So exciting.

@Safxxx yup! It is exciting. I’m not sure about induction at all tho I think I’d rather have a section. It’s so hard to know.

@babbit87 oooh baby clothes are my happy brain space when I’m feeling stressed! I have a couple of pram suits and also a gap snow suit which might not be necessary but I got it new on eBay for £2. My going home outfit (well be taking a cab) is brown bear fluffy pram suit and a shawl over sleep suit etc. X x x

Boymumto4 · 20/01/2021 11:13

I have just joined mums net. My due date is 24th Feb however I am being induced 3rd Feb :-)

IamC · 20/01/2021 11:31

Ugh, had my final PAU visit before my scan - and have been waiting for them to return my notes for 30 mins now, and am 20 mins late for my scan and counting.....

Can imagine I'll be here for hours now waiting for a gap or a cancellation, if I ever get my notes back

Safxxx · 20/01/2021 11:37

@babbit87 i only bought sleepsuits and vests, and 2 pram suits to use on top of sleepsuits while out, along with some knitted booties, and i will use a shawl or blanket to put over car seat, for the pushchair i've got a footmuff so that will be sufficient.
I'm not going to bother with other outfits till later on...as sleepsuits are so comfy and ideal in early stages.

MissKhan1990 · 20/01/2021 11:39

35 weeks here. Babies head is done said midwife. Suffering with another uti. Can't sleep in any position as very uncomfortable. Spending lots of time in the toilet.

Trying to go for walks when weather permits.

Safxxx · 20/01/2021 11:39

@Boymumto4 Hi welcome, your induction day is not too far now..How you doing? Xx

Safxxx · 20/01/2021 11:41

@Misskhan1990 Hiya welcome, ahh the joys of pregnancy ehh 😣

Safxxx · 20/01/2021 11:45

@Muriel84 you do whats best for you, if you feel a C-section is better then go for it, many have had success stories in both ways. Do some reasearch, speak to your midwife about both pros/cons and read and watch some related stories. Trust your instincts and go with what ever you feel is right for you. Xx

@IamC what a time waste, hope the wait is not much longer now. Xx

Boymumto4 · 20/01/2021 11:46

@Safxxx I’m taking it day by day. This pregnancy has been very different and difficult compared to my other 3. I am so happy the end is very near but also very nervous as to what’s on the other side once lil man is here

Safxxx · 20/01/2021 11:57

@Boymumto4 i feel you, this is my 4th pregnancy too, and who ever said it gets easier as you have more kids has LIED
But as you said the end is in sight, just got to get on with it and hope for the best.
How old are your other kids?
Mine are 16,12,9...girl & 2 boys
So i've had a big gap, expecting boy again.

babbit87 · 20/01/2021 11:58

Good news all went well and they don't want to see me anymore until I'm in labour! Just MW from now on.

Thanks for the clothing tips, I have lots of bodysuits and sleepsuits for over the top, plus booties, hats, winter footmuff etc. but my pram suits are all too big. Am hoping that will be enough for getting home in? Was hoping wait to see if baby is pink or blue before buying anything else!!!

@IamC I hope they don't keep you waiting too much longer. And push for what you feel is best, a happy mummy makes for better labour! I shall be fighting for the birthing pool again!

Safxxx · 20/01/2021 11:58

Breasts feel so sore 😣😣
Anyone else?

Newmumfeb2021 · 20/01/2021 12:04

@Muriel84 @Safxxx I was told by MW at 33 weeks that I might have CS as well if the baby doesn't turn. The thing is my mum had me and my sister by CS (that was 25 years ago, science has developed since then). The reason back then was my heartbeat was low while being born and they had to an emergency CS on my mum. And just what my mum has gone through makes me uncomfortable. I know I still have plenty time to let the baby turn itself but if someone can tell me positive/ success stories about CS, I am all ears!! :)

Newmumfeb2021 · 20/01/2021 12:13

@babbit87 I have bought loads of vests, a few sleep suits, two pram suits and a blanket (thinking of buying one more blanket and a cardigan) to start with.. And like everyone said, I plan to layer up as well. When bringing out of hospital to the car, I am planning to layer the baby in vest, sleepsuit, cardigan and pram suit. The sleepsuit and pram suit both have built in mittens and booties and pram suit also has hoodie so should keep the baby warm. A blanket to top off :)

I feel very cold generally and I layer up like anything, so I am assuming my baby will feel very cold as well. :)

Boymumto4 · 20/01/2021 12:14

@Safxxx wow, that is a big age gap! Was this one planned or a surprise?
Mine are 9(10 in march) 6 and 4. This one was a complete surprise and all COVIDS fault lol!
