@babydust2412 I had 2 days of a very small amount mid last week but have had nothing since :( not 100% sure it was mucus plug but it was egg white consistency and sticky and I’ve not had any like that my entire pregnancy

babbit87 · 01/02/2021 17:45

@babydust2412 oh you have a lovely bump too! Definitely lower than me, sorry if you've said before, do you know what you are having? I'm having a surprise but am now wishing I knew!

babbit87 · 01/02/2021 17:47

@babydust2412 and @Piccalily19 I've had the same as you, just a few times over this week very tiny amounts of egg white & very stretchy/ gloopy (sorry tmi!)

Muriel84 · 01/02/2021 17:48

@jbx10 I think if baby’s head is very low that’s the same as being engaged, it’s just midwives use different terminology to sonographers. I asked the obstetrician how engaged it was and she said the midwife would need to do an internal to find that out... 🤷‍♀️ The main signs I got when the baby’s head dropped were pain right in the middle of my pubic bone where it was dividing, a bit more swelling around there and it being uncomfortable when I need a wee. Also waddling... I reckon your baby’s engaged if you’re getting shooting pains.

@babbit87 where did she expect you to feel the head? 2 hour nap was lush... soon to be a thing of the past 😫

@babydust2412 lovely bump! X x x

Vicalam · 01/02/2021 17:50

Glad everyone else has been lazy to, it makes me feel less guilty. I've been trying to get for a walk daily but not always managing it due to weather. I've definitely slowed down a lot and got a bit of a lean back waddle now.
38 weeks tomorrow, I'm so excited with all the talk of labour symptoms, not had any yet but fingers crossed they'll start soon 😊

Muriel84 · 01/02/2021 17:50

My discharge has definitely been more “snotty”. Nowhere near as much as the first half of pregnancy tho, just a little bit. X x x

babydust2412 · 01/02/2021 17:54

@babbit87 @Piccalily19 yeah today mine has been snotty sort of (sorry gross I know 😂) but I've had nothing like it my entire pregnancy either except from when I was really early, so thinking it's bits of my mucus plug starting to come away hopefully 🤞🏼 x
And I'm having a little boy 💙

babbit87 · 01/02/2021 18:22

@babydust2412 ah how lovely! I was super low with my little boy too (he came out a bit cone head as he was pushing so hard on my pelvis!) so am wondering if this one is another girl?

jbx10 · 01/02/2021 18:27

@Muriel84 ahhh okay that makes sense! Hopefully she is engaged. No other symptoms just yet but just 37 weeks today so we'll see xx

Newmumfeb2021 · 01/02/2021 19:04

Had a bit of a weird afternoon today! I had my 36 week growth scan and although baby weight/size I was told is within the range, but slightly small that what was expected. Also been told that fluid levels were low. They then asked if they could do a swab to check if I was leaking (I was pretty sure I wasn't) - The test came back negative (I wasn't leaking) and asked to do another scan next week when I will be full term.. 5 hours at the hospital, I am exhausted!! 😫

Would anyone know why the fluid level would be low? Apart from drinking more water, I can't think of anything else tbh..

Safxxx · 01/02/2021 19:23

@babbit87 with my 2 boys it was a nice neat bump and it was low, weired thing is i'm having a boy again yet its not the same as before at this stage, maybe because its not engaged so bump feels more higher then previous.
Feel like you will have a Boy

Safxxx · 01/02/2021 19:25

@babydust2412 nice bump just shows how low its gone like you will drop any time🤞

Lnbarne · 01/02/2021 19:25

Hi just hit 39 weeks with my first. Due date feb 8th! Super excited but also anxious.

babbit87 · 01/02/2021 19:28

@Newmumfeb2021 I had lowest end of the normal range for fluid levels with my last pregnancy, they thought it could have been linked to being a bit dehydrated as I had hyperemis gravidum from week 3-21. After being panicky about it I drank lots of water and sure enough it did improve a little with each scan. But yes I had to go for scans every 2 weeks with him. Turned out a very healthy baby boy so no worries 👍

Safxxx · 01/02/2021 19:29

Was told for first time mums babies engage early, my midwife told me as i've got kids most likely baby will engage down when the contractions start, like last minute.
@Muriel84 the way you describe your bump i'm guessing you might have a boy? What you think?

Safxxx · 01/02/2021 19:31

@Lnbarne Hi welcome, your quite close to meeting little one 🤗 are you FTM?

Summertime1992 · 01/02/2021 19:35

I have had some weird discharge as well this morning, sort of like thick mucus that comes off your chest when you have a chest infection - sorry very gross sounding, not a lot of it though so might have lost a little bit of my plug defo not the whole thing though.

Also finding am getting braxton hicks on even small amounts of walking, though not painful so think I still have awhile to go which is okay as I don't really want her to come for at least another week.

Lnbarne · 01/02/2021 19:48

Yea I’m a first time mom! I have no idea what to expect! The last bit of pregnancy is like one giant puzzle. I keep looking for the right pieces to tell me labor is near but I Guess she will come when she is ready!! Mw won’t let me go past 41 weeks though she wants to induce by then which I really don’t want to happen!

Safxxx · 01/02/2021 20:03

@Lnbarne any particular reason for the induction? Hows your pregnancy been so far? Signs of labour vary, everyones diffrent even i've had 3 kids yet its diffrent each time. When the time comes you will know for sure. Xx

Muriel84 · 01/02/2021 22:46

@Safxxx hmm I’m not sure. I thought cos the baby is a bit smaller maybe it’s a girl? I read somewhere on average girls are a few oz lighter. Do you think your bumps have been different shapes for your girl and boys? X x x

Safxxx · 01/02/2021 23:28

@Muriel84 my first was a girl 6lbs 5oz and my bump was quite big and high plus i had wider hips.
For my 2 boys i only had the bump which was more low down big diffrence from the girl bump.
This time round my bump stayed small but has picked up now, i've gone wider recently too, but thinking of it i think its because i'm not as active as before, and due to discomforts i sit and lie down alot, so gained weight 😩

Lnbarne · 02/02/2021 00:44

@safxxx I’m not really sure why she wants to induce so early she just told me that she used to go until 42 weeks but doesn’t anymore. My pregnancy has been pretty good thus far I haven’t been high risk or anything like that. I know that baby is head down and I really think that she has dropped from last week to this week. Iv had pelvic pressure some menstrual like cramping light pain/aches in the lower back from time to time. Nothing consistent and No signs of mucus plus or leaking fluid yet!

babbit87 · 02/02/2021 01:47

@Muriel84 ive had 1 of each born with only 3 days difference in length of term and there was only 1oz difference in weight! Although yes, I did have huge bump with girl and smaller bump with boy - had a lot of water retention with girl (kankles, swollen fingers etc) it was a very hot summer. Boy I had HG so dont know if both those factors affected bump size? Tbh, I don't think there is any realy rhyme or reason behind bump size and gender! I am genuinely clueless with this one, no mothers intuition at all! 🤭

IronMummy28 · 02/02/2021 05:47

Another baby for the thread! Meet Florence 🥰 born at 22.15 weighing 7lb 4oz, after a positive induction experience! Keep going ladies, they’re definitely worth the wait!!

Due February 2021 - Part 3 - Final countdown!
