@IamC I expect there because you’ve had an incision through your lower abdominal muscles and so you can’t push down and create the same abdominal pressure to push a poo out at the mo! The muscles and nerves supplying them in your rectum are all safely tucked at the back and wouldn’t have been affected by the operation. It is a really major operation! Bowels are very sensitive and get upset by any sort of abdominal surgery so just give yourself time and keep up the laxatives so you don’t have to use muscle to push your poo out. It will soon heal x x x

@babbit87 I've got the wrist splints and they help. I'm a FTM and never realised this happened. Good to know it cleared up straight after birth though.

@IamC I had a section last time and one again this time. Sounds exactly like my experience and kind of makes sense if you consider that they had to move muscles out of the way during the operation

I wasn’t prepared for my upper bum cheeks to have no sensation in them almost a week later though! Midwife reassured me that it isn’t anything to be concerned about but still odd

As if constipation and piles are not enough during pregnancy, after C-section you lose that muscle sensation for a while 😩
The things we have to go thru.
I've always been afraid of C-section now i'm even more terrified.

We had a surprise midwife visit this morning (well, all other ladies that got discharged were told they'd be getting one and I assumed I'd not been told that as it was Sunday) and she didn't seem concerned so I guess I'll just go with the flow.

@Safxxx I felt terrified of the c section but now it's happened it really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be (though would rather have had a natural birth of course). I've also been told any future kids will need to exit the same way, and wouldn't be afraid of that now.

I’m going home today but I need to wait for Leila to pee on cotton wool in her nappy first and for them to give my pain medication, in so much pain and can wait for my own bed x

@IamC so all future kids will be C-section? Why?

I've been having braxton hicks that are really tight all day 😩 but no pain or anything, so fed up of all this discomfort not turning into labour now ☹️ x

For the first time I've had period esk cramps today, not due for 3 weeks so assuming braxton hicks but no idea what to expect so I guess we'll see what happens!

@babydust2412 gosh so close to due date, let's hope they let up on the stubbornness soon! Will be worth it once they're here & melting your heart.....good job babies are cute eh!

@Safxxx they are checking for certain infections, because she is so small they want to check if there was a reason for this so she had a load of bloods done today and they wanted to check her urine and the only way to do it is to put cotton wool in her nappy x

@babbit87 I wouldn't be surprised if mine arrives in March as most of the boys in my family have been late. My brother was 12 days late 🤕🤕

I'm convinced mine will be late, I'm due 26th Feb but both my first 2 were 2 weeks over. Fingers crossed I'm wrong
