@Safxxx I'm hoping so too 🤞🏽 apparently the results take 24-48hrs to come back at our trust so by the time you get your results probably too late for them to turn away birthing partner anyway!

@Summertime1992 I'm also FTM due 22nd feb, I had a feeling she was going to come early but not convinced now! Still waiting confirmation if I'll be induced or not will find out on Thursday xx

Newmumfeb2021 · 30/01/2021 18:00

Congratulations @Char41zam 👏🏼💜 beautiful little girl 😍 Please take care of yourself and I hope you get well soon 💐

babbit87 · 30/01/2021 18:17

Made the mistake of googling images of mucus plug 😳

Safxxx · 30/01/2021 19:01

@Summertime1992 i got 2 boxes of lactulose and i've only used a few satchets don't like it, i try to eat more fruit/veg and recently bought Ispaghhol (fybogel has ispaghol in it too) that has helped more then lactulose. Yep i've had piles most of this pregnancy and the stubborn things are still there.
Tday my stomach has been hurting all day, not easing off, its not contractions as its the top and middle part of stomach, where the little was is also bulging out lol.

jbx10 · 30/01/2021 19:23

I've also suffered piles from second trimester. I'm eating loads of fruit should probably try up my veg intake. I have laxido sachets that aren't to bad to take every other day. I am quite nervous how they'll be through/after labour 🙈

Safxxx · 30/01/2021 19:39

@jbx10 surprisingly with my previous 3 kids i had not had piles till after birth, so i guess its just getting to me more now.
@babbit87 lol why haha

babbit87 · 30/01/2021 19:45

@Safxxx oh they gave me lactulose as a syrup, didn't know you could get it in sachets?

Well I looked it up because I had suspicious looking discharge after going to the loo... Still unsure as to whether it was plug or not!!

Safxxx · 30/01/2021 20:12

@babbit87 sorry i don't know why i keep saying lactulose, its Laxido orange flavour satchets, i mean its not too bad when you take it but i hate the feeling i get afterwards.
Keep an eye on any further discharges. Xx

Safxxx · 30/01/2021 20:15

@jbx10 trust me the piles will be least of your concerns during labour 😂

jbx10 · 30/01/2021 20:30

@Safxxx good point !! 😂

Muriel84 · 30/01/2021 20:44

Today has felt like a marathon but we’ve pretty much moved now 🙌 I have never felt so drained! God forbid I go into labour in the next 24 hours I have no energy left! Hopefully my little one will give us some time to settle in before saying hello.

Oh god piles have been the worse part of pregnancy for me. My poor bum. I’ve never had them before. Ive been taking laxido/movicol twice a day for months. If I don’t I immediately suffer! I found lactulose made me quite smelly... also high fibre diet and trying to eat plenty of dates too even tho I am really not a fan. I’ve tried everything and nothing gets rid of the piles. 😫 x x x

Safxxx · 30/01/2021 20:51

@Muriel84 congrats on the move hopefuly you are settled and sorted in time for babies arrival 🤞
I've bought packs of juicy prunes and apricots which are helping with constipation, but only if i take them daily, i'm so bad that when i reach out for the pack for a snack i end up picking the chocolates instead 😂 so remedies are there including Ispaghol but i'm so bad in taking them.

Stef92 · 30/01/2021 21:00

I went to the chemist to ask what I could take for piles and they told me to use anusol, it shrunk the piles and stopped the irritation. I know it says to use only if doctor recommended but I couldn't get through to my GP and I was in so much discomfort.

IamC · 30/01/2021 21:09

We got released from prison hospital today!

Have any of you guys had a c section before? I have a weird question....

jbx10 · 30/01/2021 21:15

@Muriel84 congrats on the move! Big job done. Get your feet up now you deserve it!

Oh the glamour of pregnancy 😂 piles are just awful aren't they so uncomfortable. I also had a cream to use that doctor said I could use sparingly if they were bad plus the laxidos xx

Newmumfeb2021 · 30/01/2021 22:23

@Muriel84 congratulations on the move! Please rest up as much as you possibly can 🤗

Ladies, if you have not tried before try having some milk (if you’re not lactose intolerant) add sugar/ chocolate/ whatever you want. That would definitely ease up piles. I drink milk regularly with Cadbury hot chocolate to help with bowel movements.

(TMI) So much so,I’ve gone to the loo at least 4 times today😂 - not loose stools though! Weird things our bodies do to us!

Safxxx · 30/01/2021 22:38

@Stef92 the doctor prescribed me anusol cream so its fine to use in pregnancy.

Char41zam · 30/01/2021 22:47

@IamC I’m still in don’t know when I’m getting out and I’m hating it! Missing home so bad, what’s your question? This is my first c section too

Safxxx · 30/01/2021 22:51

@IamC so happy for you glad your home now Xxx
@Char41zam are they keeping you for your BP? Or the beautiful Leila? Xx

Safxxx · 30/01/2021 22:54

@Newmumfeb2021 i drink milk and have hot chocolate too, but it never works for my constipation....sometimes bloats me more lol

Vicalam · 30/01/2021 23:29

@faithfulbird20 I'm glad you've mentioned the loose stools, I've been suffering with it on and off all week, mostly in the evening though weirdly and the gurgling from my stomach! I'm 37+4 and just hoping that it's a sign everythings getting ready.

The thing that's really taken me by surprise is the carpol tunnel I've had it for a few weeks and just seems to be getting worse. Anybody else got this?

Char41zam · 31/01/2021 00:21

@Safxxx for me and my bp also still had a catheter in till I basically had to tell them to take it out today! Still have a port in my hand too again don’t know why, they are not in a hurry to get things sorted.

babbit87 · 31/01/2021 01:48

@Vicalam not this time but with DD1 i had terrible carpel tunnel so can completely sympathise! Only thing I found helped was I bought proper wrist supports with metal splints in them (can get from most pharmacy's or probably online) good news is it disappeared straight away after baby arrived.

faithfulbird20 · 31/01/2021 04:25

Thanks for being kind everybody. @Vicalam I had it a lot in my first pregnancy (carpel tunnel) and have had it on and off in this one. I have to apply some sort of therapeutic oil/balm to relieve the pain.

Guys I'm really scared about giving birth. I don't want to tear...or remember what I felt before but I know it will be over soon... I'm getting more nervous as the days go by...I had a natural birth last time with gas and air only...maybe that's why I'm scared...because I felt it all... Shock I think the worst bit was how achey my thighs got when giving birth...praying to God I have the energy...any tips are welcome...

IamC · 31/01/2021 07:55

@Char41zam it's horrible isn't it, being stuck there when others get to go home so quickly. It's also the time you need the most support and are just expected to do everything yourself.

My c section question is poo related 😂 it seems we like talking about poo in this group.

Up until I did my first poo (5 mins ago, first since Thursday!) I felt as though I no longer had my poo pushing muscles. I certainly can't squeeze trumps out like I used to lol. There's just no connection to those muscles in that area that I can physically feel anymore.

When it came to it they appeared out of nowhere and I managed to go. But it certainly didn't feel like it came out of my bum, and those poo muscles seem to be gone again.

Is this normal?!?!
