@Thegirlhasnoname Thanks for the info, not sure what our hospital rules are yet.
Hope your doing well. Xxx

Safxxx · 30/01/2021 12:29

@babbit87 your little escapist made me laugh, such determination he can do it in hes gro bag lol 🤣
You sure will have your hands full once baby arrives.
I had bought cellular blakets and accessories from Asda, 2 wks ago popped to Aldi they had few baby stuff in, i picked a 2 pack cellular blanket and pack of 3 bibs, as you said once washed nice and soft, i think these are better then Asda's. Xx

babbit87 · 30/01/2021 13:25

@Safxxx not only did he have a terrible night sleep last night hes now also refusing to nap - lol why do they do it to us just before a new arrival?? I've left DH to deal with him while me and DD watch Wallace & Gromit with a hot chocolate 😆

I get on really well with Aldi baby stuff - best for nappies and wipes IMO. Although I tend to buy Asda body suits/vest as best value for money. Where else can you get baby stuff now with everything shut? And with Mothercare and Debenhams gone... 😔

Summertime1992 · 30/01/2021 13:31

@OnNaturesCourse @Char41zam Congratulations !!

So many babies already and we haven't even got into February. Sadly being a first time mum due on the 23rd I think I will be one of the last and am already fed up feel like an old women when I need to go to the toilet and am lying down haha.

I have brought a few things in the Aldi baby event the other week, but overall my workplace brought the majority of clothes for out little girl and brought her a 3 piece activity set so luckily haven't had to buy much.

In terms of things we don't really need, I have brought a few cuddly plush toys, but I think they are more for me I love the soft toys from mama and papas they are so snuggly!!

Summertime1992 · 30/01/2021 13:35

@babbit87 I like Asdas vests but have had trouble with stock online and in the shops near me for long sleeve body suits/vests. I really love the clothes from Matalan and the prices are really good in comparison to the supermarkets. Not really been fussed with Next for baby girl stuff I think the baby boy stuff is much nicer I use to buy a lot from there with my nephew.

babbit87 · 30/01/2021 13:38

@Summertime1992 ah the joys of being first time mum! People are so generous its lovely 😍 I didnt have to buy many clothes for mine until they were 9 months old!

Sneaky but useful top tip - everyone buys you newborn and you really don't need too much as they grow out of it so quickly (then you feel guilty if they've only worn it once) - dont feel too cheeky about swapping it for a size up at the shops 😉 noone will know!

OnNaturesCourse · 30/01/2021 14:00
@Muriel84 goodluck with the big move hope the rain eases off 🤞
@OnNaturesCourse hope you got your sleep ĺast night, wanted to ask, did they test you and your patner for covid? Xx
We were offered a test when we got to the delivery suite however I was already at pushing point so didn't want it at that time obviously lol. They did say we could have it before leaving again but we were out so quick I thibk it just fell off the to do list.

@Char41zam

Well ladies she is here after a very dramatic evening and a c section she was born at 4.05! I have had the worst experience but she is the best and she only weighs 5lb1 because they reckon I have been pre eclamptic for a while, the placenta was not looking a very good colour and he movement has been lazy on the monitors so I asked for the c section as they broke my water at 5.30 and by 3.30 this morning I was only 4 cm with a thick cervix and the most painful contractions I have ever experienced due to the drip then when they wanted to take blood from her scalp i said enough is enough and the c section was the safest option all round. I still have raised bp I think it’s all I have been the through too. So here is Leila
Congratulations! And welcome Leila ❤️ What a beautiful name for a beautiful girl. @Char41zam I hope you are okay, and recovering well - traumatic experience which I can somewhat relate to from my first birth so please make sure to take care of yourself ❤️❤️

Lots of these February babies are quite determined to be January babies!

@OnNaturesCourse so you got away from the tests lol. Hope i do too 🤞

Safxxx · 30/01/2021 14:35

@babbit87 good for you enjoy the hot choc and movie. Its like the little ones sense more then we realise and want all the attention before/after baby arrives. Hopefully he settles down in a good routine so you can focus on yourself and baby later.
Yeah i agree Asda baby clothes are good, and I always shop in Aldi's as its the closest to us and more value for money.

@Summertime1992 never know you think you might be last and come early, i'll be 37wks tmro and honestly from tmro i'm wishing it happens any day soon, feel very uncomfortable 😢 my bump has stayed solid hard for over a week or so now and the position of the babe hurts.
Hopefuly not long left for us all now ehh but same time the most hardest time. Xx

babbit87 · 30/01/2021 14:40

I'm with you! I'm 37+4 - and as soon as I hit 37 weeks everything started to ache, bump is hard and hormones have kicked in (I'm crying at the telly!) The last few are definitely the hardest weeks!

babbit87 · 30/01/2021 14:40

And I'm so glad we have this group because I am SICK TO DEATH of this lockdown and the groundhog day feeling!!!

OnNaturesCourse · 30/01/2021 15:04
@OnNaturesCourse so you got away from the tests lol. Hope i do too 🤞
I think we would have taken it afterwards to be honest. But when they first offered the last thing I wanted was anything up my nose 😂

Hi guys I'm sorry I'm late to join this page. But I'm due on the 25th Feb. I've had the runs since last night and very gassy...is this normal? Second baby, gender a surprise and I'm really scared....I'm not ready... I want to give birth closer to due date....but I know that's not always possible...should I get ready? Anyone experiencing similar or had similar? The amount of noises from my stomach...omg! Never felt so unladylike...

Summertime1992 · 30/01/2021 15:28

@babbit87 Thanks for the advice, we sort I thought this so we didn't buy any clothes ourselves and just brought the big items and then thought we would see what was needed post gifts so as not to be wasteful.

@Safxxx Mine goes solid when I start walking, and have been getting the lightning pain in the vagina area when out shopping, which is so uncomfortable. I go through phases where I think I will go all the way to 42 weeks and then other days where I have so many symptoms I think she will come early. Wishful thinking I think.

I have found since she has dropped though that my reflux is back, thank god for omeprazole only have to take once or twice a week its so much more effective than gaviscon.

Summertime1992 · 30/01/2021 15:31

@faithfulbird20 Welcome, I have been having on and off loose stool for a week now, I think it is caused by all the hormones preparing for birth.

Safxxx · 30/01/2021 16:02

@babbit87 i'm with you on that, some days i get on with it others its a drag..lack of sleep is also adding to my mood swings. I physically sometimes need a hand getting off the sofa and bed. Tday is one of those days just want to be left alone yet got kids demanding whats to eat?? I did snap back saying EAT ME 🤣🤣🤣

@Summertime1992 my one is not engaged but i have pressure all over. Got the heartburn too, and walking is the worst as pelvic region starts hurting and i feel like i'm waddling. Weak bladder/constipation I've had enough 😢
(Sorry but feel like a big moan)

Safxxx · 30/01/2021 16:08

@faithfulbird20 hi welcome..yes all normal as last stage now. I believe best to be prepared for the big day by now, if you have'nt already pack your hospital bags so no rushing around last minute. These symptoms can carry on for a while and vary. As your a 2nd time mum you could have it before due date. Xx

cat709 · 30/01/2021 16:09

@babbit87 completely with you on that!!
Ever since I turned 36 weeks, it's like hormones upped themselves!! X

IronMummy28 · 30/01/2021 17:12

@Safxxx only I have been tested ahead of Monday too! No test for partners here!

Safxxx · 30/01/2021 17:23

@IronMummy28 so you will be induced on monday? And they have tested you before you go in? Xx

IronMummy28 · 30/01/2021 17:28

@Safxxx yeah, you have to have a test 3 days before they admit you here. If in spontaneous labour no test I think xx

Safxxx · 30/01/2021 17:36

@IronMummy28 good luçk for Monday hope all goes to plan 🤞

Summertime1992 · 30/01/2021 17:38

@Safxxx I totally get it, I think I have engaged early because I'm a first time mum and have been told that is normal. I too have had constipation on and off throughout pregnancy I have lactalose but don't like taking it as causes cramps and gas but have just developed piles for the second time so sadly have had to take it again.

Pregnancy is just not glamorous at all surprised my OH can even find me remotely attractive right now.

babbit87 · 30/01/2021 17:42

@Summertime1992 also on the lactulose here but not finding it much help at this late stage of pregnancy? Dusted off the juicer and had a day of LOTS of fruit & veg that helped get things going smoothly again. Although 3 days later I'm back to being bunged up. Oh the joys of these babies!! Haha
