@Safxxx all gone quiet over here for me! Looking like I’ll make my Monday induction, despite hopes of the sweep doing its thing! Although apparently I’m dilated enough they think I won’t need the pessary they can go straight for ARM, not sure whether that’s better or worse!

Safxxx · 29/01/2021 21:25

@OnNaturesCourse Awe bless ❤ Maybe get hubby to feed the baby tonight (if your bottle feeding) so you can get your well deserved sleep. Xxx

@Char41zam Hopefuly your not in labour too long and have your baby in your arms very soon 🤞 Xxx

Char41zam · 29/01/2021 21:27

Thank you @Safxxx I am exhausted, sitting upright nodding off to the sound of baby’s heartbeat lol xx

Safxxx · 29/01/2021 21:29

@IronMummy28 Awe sorry, still have the wkend if not monday not far, hopefuly things pick up by then 🤞 Xx

Snorlax86 · 29/01/2021 22:19

Gosh this has been a busy thread over the last day or say, it’s taken ages to catch up, and I’m sure I’ve missed some stuff

Congrats @OnNaturesCourse

Good luck @Char41zam

I hope everyone else is doing well, and that we don’t have to wait too long for our babies, hopefully they all arrive by the due date (wishful thinking I know!) x

IamC · 30/01/2021 02:09

@OnNaturesCourse amazing news, and brilliant you are at home already.

@Safxxx I'm still being held hostage in hospital because Norah isn't taking to breast feeding. 2nd night here. As a tactic we've switched to formula this evening so we can be discharged tomorrow but the plan is to try and reintroduce breastfeeding if we can at home. I'm not being held prisoner any longer 😂

I feel like the Mr is missing out on everything - including the meconium poo!

Safxxx · 30/01/2021 02:29

@IamC oh dear, hopefuly your plan B works and you can go home. Yes do keep at it at home to breastfeed....he sure has missed out on them first few poops lol.
Hope your feeling well Xxx

Muriel84 · 30/01/2021 07:51

I’m trying to be good as we haven’t much space and I hate clutter so haven’t bought any nonessential larger items. In fact, I don’t really have anywhere to put the baby’s clothes 🙈 will set up the Moses basket today tho. Plan to buy a bouncer this week too.

Today is the big move and torrential rain where I am 🙄.

@IamC fingers crossed you get home today and your husband gets in on the meconium action! Must’ve been a hard week for him stuck at home with you being in hospital. I was only in for 5 hours Thursday and my partner was beside himself waiting at home. So hard for them. And us... x x x

OnNaturesCourse · 30/01/2021 08:03

@babbit87

Go on everyone, what is the most non-essential unnecessary baby item you've bought that you just absolutely love? I'm feeling the need to shop!
A big soft elephant (well my brother bought it for DC 1 and we still have it) it's like a cuddly toy but can be used when feeding baby, or for sitting older babies up, or for tummy time etc. Very adaptable and so very cute.

@Char41zam thinking of you 💐 any news?

Muriel84 · 30/01/2021 08:11

@Stef92 ooh I love white company baby stuff. I got a few bargains off eBay, so nice. I really want one of their cellular blankets but so expensive. X x x

Safxxx · 30/01/2021 08:26

@Muriel84 goodluck with the big move hope the rain eases off 🤞
@OnNaturesCourse hope you got your sleep ĺast night, wanted to ask, did they test you and your patner for covid? Xx

babbit87 · 30/01/2021 08:27

@OnNaturesCourse oh I think we might have the same one, mamas and papas? My SIL bought it for DC2 and it is STILL super soft and snuggly 😊

@Muriel84 good luck with the move and I hope you don't get too wet.

I've kept ALL the baby clothes from my previous 2 so am actually drowning in clothes. Will need a good clear out when we know the sex! Thanks for reminding me i need to dig out the bouncer as it all needs a good wash.... and the moses basket base is somewhere in the loft 🤔

Update on my escapologist - his new record he can climb out the cotbed in 3 seconds flat even with a grobag on 🤦🏼‍♀️ i give up, he can share my bedspace!

babbit87 · 30/01/2021 08:28

Oh in all honesty of you can get to an Aldi their cellular blankets and muslins are really soft when washed

Thegirlhasnoname · 30/01/2021 08:48

@Safxxx I was tested for covid but DH wasn’t. At my hospital they test for every 24 hours you are in and move you to a private room if it comes back positive. Had red/amber/green toilets to go to on the ward depending on if/what your results come back as too

Char41zam · 30/01/2021 08:52

Well ladies she is here after a very dramatic evening and a c section she was born at 4.05! I have had the worst experience but she is the best and she only weighs 5lb1 because they reckon I have been pre eclamptic for a while, the placenta was not looking a very good colour and he movement has been lazy on the monitors so I asked for the c section as they broke my water at 5.30 and by 3.30 this morning I was only 4 cm with a thick cervix and the most painful contractions I have ever experienced due to the drip then when they wanted to take blood from her scalp i said enough is enough and the c section was the safest option all round. I still have raised bp I think it’s all I have been the through too. So here is Leila

Wow @Char41zam sounds like she kept it dramatic for you until she arrived! I'm glad she has arrived safely - I love the name! Hope your bp settles now and you have an easy recovery. You definitely deserve one!

Char41zam · 30/01/2021 09:15

Thank you @wannabe123 she is so placid she has done nothing but sleep! Only dramatic on the inside, so glad I’m not pregnant anymore but now to recover for a while after the surgery x
