@Char41zam its so annoying when you can't sleep isn't it? I always worry ill be too tired if I did go into labour.

I had a quiet baby evening a few days ago which kept me awake (my baby tends to be quiet all day then start moving about 6pm) had clothes at the ready to go for monitoring and everything! Gave up trying to sleep and watched a film instead, thankfully movements started happening.

Glad to hear she is moving again now. They like to keep us busy!

Someone told me it's mother natures way of preparing you for lack of sleep for night feeds!!

Char41zam · 28/01/2021 04:32

@babbit87 yes I totally think it is, I am not even tired and I am getting a couple of hours here and there, I have the hospital at 9.40 and had a nice soak in the bath and got into bed early with the plans of sleeping early! I did fall asleep and 2 hours later I was up and it was because subconsciously I had thought I haven’t felt her move for a long while, so I lay awake for ages and waited for movement and all I got was braxtons and heartburn I then decided to come down stairs to watch tv and I have my little side kick with me because I don’t want to disturb my oh, we are lying here now and she has moved plenty!

babbit87 · 28/01/2021 05:05

Snap! Had plans for an early night, had a few hours then wide awake. Also watching TV downstairs, although no sidekick for me. Your dog is very cute 😍

Char41zam · 28/01/2021 05:26

Thanks! She is totally my baby and I am actually more anxious about leaving her than I am my kids lol she is a lockdown pup so never left my side since April as I have been wfh! If I go shopping and leave her with the kids she goes absolutely mad when I come back so I can’t imagine how she will be when I am away to have baby and when I come back with a little human

MissKhan1990 · 28/01/2021 06:37

@Safxxx

Seems my nesting has kicked in after all, been at it all day, now my poor bump is hard and painful.....so just catching up on posts... *@OnNaturesCourse* excited 4 u, hope all goes to plan, and being emotional about your little one is quite normal, don't worry you all will adapt to the changes Xxx *@IamC* Good luck for tmro hope all goes well 🤞 *@MissKhan1990* how come you lost weight? Are you not eating properly or get sickness?
I'm earing. But l was told my bmi was high so l should try and lose weight .
OnNaturesCourse · 28/01/2021 07:44

I got a good sleep, well good as can be expected. Contractions had eased off and left period pain however since waking I'm getting quite intense ones every 5-7 minutes or so. Was told to wait until its 2 strong contractions in 10 minutes so will be spending today resting up and also trying to encourage the contractions.

OP posts:
pampero · 28/01/2021 08:14

@IamC thanks, I might look into it a bit more and consider giving it a go from next week maybe. I hadn't even really considered it until I did a class last night & they spoke about times it could come in useful if you chose to do it.

All those with various pangs, I hope things go well! Seems there's plenty of movement with some of these babies planning a Jan entry 😊

jbx10 · 28/01/2021 08:27

@OnNaturesCourse glad you were able to get at least some rest! Fingers crossed you get more consistent contractions today 🤞🏽😇 and try get rest in between where you can x

jbx10 · 28/01/2021 08:28

@pampero I haven't started yet but I am planning on giving it ago next week. Got plenty of syringes so hopefully I'll be able to. I'm not sure how it'll go can't say I'm totally confident in it! X

Safxxx · 28/01/2021 08:29

@OnNaturesCourse Awe bless you bet you can't wait to have baby now. Hopefuly we hear some good news later 🤗
@babydust2412 Hows things now? Xx

Summertime1992 · 28/01/2021 08:30

@jbx10 Thanks I think I'll start to loose sight of days too now I have finished work

@allpampero I am planning on harvesting colostrum, my midwife said she would give me some stuff at my 37 week appointment next week to start, I also have 3 webinar antenatal classes from my hospital about breast feeding ect next week so hope they help as right now I don't think anything will be coming out of my breasts I haven't had any leaks.

Sleep wise is the same every night, up multiple times a night for a wee and have to keep changing sides as it feels like my hip is bruised from lying on one side too long, but my baby is lying heavily on one side or another so its just as uncomfortable lying on the side she is on so can't win either way haha.

Good luck to all those having some contractions, very exciting !!

Safxxx · 28/01/2021 08:55

I knew i shouldn't have started cleaning yesterday, paying the price for it since last night...luckily had hubby to help me but can get difficult...and its not all done so need to be on top of it today, its like pringles once you pop you can't stop 😂
But i think its the strong nesting urges i need to do it or else i'll go more mad thinking of it.
This lack of sleep everynight is also driving me crazy 😩
Getting moody and frustrated

Safxxx · 28/01/2021 08:56

@jbx10 did you get your phone consultation with midwife or had to see her? X

MrsEtobe · 28/01/2021 09:03

@pampero

Out of interest has any one or is anyone planning to harvest colostrum?
I have been hand expressing colostrum since 36 weeks recommended by my midwife.

I find the best time to do it is right after a shower. Make 'c' with your hand But don't go too close to the nipple and keep trying it does become easier!

I now manage to get 10ml each time after just over a week!

babydust2412 · 28/01/2021 09:05

All seems to have stopped last night 😩 good in a way because I've actually been able to get some sleep, but also so disheartening ☹️ xx
@OnNaturesCourse that's good!! Hopefully things carry on progressing for you 💕

Muriel84 · 28/01/2021 09:09

@Safxxx I wish I had some of your nesting energy! Sorry you’re suffering today tho.

@Summertime1992 oh god the bruised hip feeling. It’s so horrible. Just trying to find which side hurts less and go with that one.

@MrsEtobe thanks for the advice. Might start next week when we’ve moved house. Do you just do it once a day after a shower?

I had a gush of quite watery discharge this morning when I got back into bed after 5:30am loo crawl. I’m guessing it’s fairly obvious when waters go? Will mention it to MW later today. It wasn’t a large amount by any means but was v wet, not like normal discharge. 🤷‍♀️ x x x

Safxxx · 28/01/2021 09:41

@Muriel84 trust me i don't have the energy at all, if it was'nt for hubbys help i couldn't have done most of it, i think the nesting urges took over but it won't last as i was waddling thru it 🤣
As for the discharge a increase at this stage is normal, but yeah do mention it.
I notice when i'm more on my feet i get more discharge, since your moving house and busy could be that 🤔

MrsEtobe · 28/01/2021 09:50

@Muriel84 at the start I just did it once a day after a shower because it came out easier and you get the most. But now try and do it at least 2 times a day

Rhythm is the key!

pampero · 28/01/2021 10:22

@MrsEtobe, @Summertime1992, @jbx10 thanks for the replies and tips! Think I might try speak to the lady in my local team about it and see if I cant get some free syringes...if not, sure Amazon will have some. Guess its worth a go, at worst I don't really get anything. Like some others I've not had any leaks so we'll see how it goes!

jbx10 · 28/01/2021 10:38

@Safxxx yep she did it over the phone with me! As I'd had my urine and blood pressure tests at my growth scans she was fine with it being over the phone

Muriel84 · 28/01/2021 10:41

@MrsEtobe ooh thanks! I will give it a go once we’ve finished moving. Don’t want to encourage anything until then! 🙈 @pampero my MW gave me a pack of 10 syringes. I figure even if they don’t get used it’s not a bad idea to get things flowing...

@Safxxx yeah it could be the fact I’ve been on my feet, tho weirdly have only noticed it when I’ve just lay down. Definitely been doing a lot of running up and down stairs so testing the theory that brings on labour!

@babydust2412 let us know how you’re getting on! Sounds exciting...

I’m off to buy some raspberry leaf capsules and some clary sage if I can find it in Holland and Barrett. Trying to eat 4 dates a day. Not a fan 🤢 x x x

Safxxx · 28/01/2021 11:46

Just back from midwifes appt, all is well and the tape measurements are over the growth scan i had 2 wks ago which is good. Looks like no weekly appt got another in 2wks time.

I notice most of you are talking about breastfeeding, its my dream to do it but i failed 3 times before with other kids...i don't have leaky breasts at all at the moment, so will these syringes help stimulate them?
My midwife was'nt much of a help when asked about it tday, all she said you breastfeeding or bottle? I said i really want to breastfeed but have struggled in the past, was hoping for advice and support from her but she went to the next question 🙄

Char41zam · 28/01/2021 11:59

So my appointment took a dramatic turn and I am currently in hospital on a bp monitor with this lovely iv in my hand as my bp was high and I had protein in my urine, they have sent me by ambulance too and wouldn’t let my partner with me so of course my bp is sky high! This hurt like hell, they have given me medication to bring it down and will decide what is what

Due February 2021 - Part 3 - Final countdown!
babbit87 · 28/01/2021 12:14

@Char41zam oh my gosh!! You poor thing!! Hope all is well. Take care, rest and do keep us updated. Are they suspecting pre-eclampsia or not saying anything until tests come back?

Muriel84 · 28/01/2021 12:17

@Char41zam eek! Did you have any headache or symptoms? A grey cannula in the hand! They’re huge, no wonder it hurt. Hope they let your partner join soon.
