@jbx10 I am 37+4 and I have the hospital tomorrow to check my cervix for induction next week due to my diabetes, they did not pick up on my anaemia because it was the mw who should have taken my bloods and even the hospital contacted her to do so and she did bother! Really shocking care.

babydust2412 · 27/01/2021 14:56

@Char41zam bless you that's shocking! Definitely bring that up and complain, they've not even met basic appointment requirements during pregnancy, even a phone call would have been helpful! So annoying, I feel for you 😩

babydust2412 · 27/01/2021 14:58

@Muriel84 my last period was also an early miscarriage 💕 from that I'd have been due end of January but at my 12 week scan I was only 11 weeks so my new due date was Feb 3rd xx

OnNaturesCourse · 27/01/2021 15:00

Well ladies. I came in to get my back pain etc checked out. Would appear I'm in labour, probably have been for a day or so 😂 currently on monitor and have been told to get DP in here ASAP before they do a sweep.

@OnNaturesCourse great news!! Wishing you the best of luck with everything. Send us an update when you can! Xx

Char41zam · 27/01/2021 15:09

Omg @OnNaturesCourse how exciting!! Hope that everything goes smoothly x

Char41zam · 27/01/2021 15:10

@babydust2412 yes definitely not acceptable! I have had 3 children and yes I had them years ago but the level of care compared to now is just terrible x

babydust2412 · 27/01/2021 15:21

@OnNaturesCourse amazing news!! Good luck 🥰

babydust2412 · 27/01/2021 15:24

I'm so nervous that I won't know when it's real labour, I have no idea what to expect 😩😬 x

Piccalily19 · 27/01/2021 15:55

@OnNaturesCourse exciting!! Hope all goes well for you😊
@babydust2412 me too! Every twinge has me panicking it’s the start haha.

IamC · 27/01/2021 16:03

@OnNaturesCourse ahhhh exciting, hope you have a nice easy birth!

OnNaturesCourse · 27/01/2021 16:13

Would you believe I'm getting sent home. I'm thinned out and 1cm dilated but as my waters haven't gone and I'm not contracting regularly they want me to labour at home.

@OnNaturesCourse, another extra twist in the birth tale to tell when they're older! Hope things keep progressing well x

OnNaturesCourse · 27/01/2021 17:06

Definitely.

Might be my imagination but I'm pretty sure my contractions are getting stronger, but not closer together. Could be that the consultant had a good old poke around in there tho.

@OnNaturesCourse are we the same person?! 🤣 (I've been on thread under a different name sorry!).

I went in last night with contractions, 2cm dilated, had two sweeps but was sent home. Had my bloody show this morning and contractions definitely feel like they are getting stronger although not yet regular.

I'm the same as you, it was almost as if as soon as I left after they'd had a poke round, they got much much worse.

Muriel84 · 27/01/2021 17:13

@babydust2412 aw thanks for replying. I guess I just want to know when the baby will come 🙈 so hard not knowing...

@OnNaturesCourse did they do a sweep before you went home? Or just sent you home? So excited for you!

I keep thinking everyone’s getting signs early on forgetting that January is nearly over! X x x

MissKhan1990 · 27/01/2021 17:25

Had my consultant appointment today. They had to weigh me since l'm 36 weeks. I was crapping myself! It turns out l've lost a stone!

SearchingForToes · 27/01/2021 17:25

@Muriel84 my EDD was changed from 17 Feb to 11 Feb - no idea about ovulation dates etc though. Think they were moved forward by a few days with my first and she arrived 38w5d. Anyone’s guess when this one will turn up!

@OnNaturesCourse ahh fingers crossed all goes smoothly and your little one is here soon!

SearchingForToes · 27/01/2021 17:26

And good luck @PeachesAndCreamy!!

OnNaturesCourse · 27/01/2021 17:26

They were going to do a sweep but said something about tight waters? If my waters went I wouldn't be able to do early labour at home.

He did a big poke around in there tho, and let's just say he didn't have a smallest of hands (ouch, ouch ouch...) I felt my whole womb move when he was doing it.

Apparently baby is bouncing in and out of the engaged position as well.

How far along are you? Are you doing anything to try speed things up? Midwife said use the birth ball but I really cba with it tonight, jsut want to curl up on the sofa and relax!

@OnNaturesCourse wow sounds horrible! God the things we have to put up with... maybe his poke about will get things going!

@SearchingForToes thank you! That’s interesting. I’ll try to stop obsessing... x x x

jbx10 · 27/01/2021 17:42

@OnNaturesCourse typical! But glad you get to go home to have the early labour there where you can be comfortable.

@PeachesAndCreamy hope things run smoothly for you too!!

It is so exciting starting to see the babies being born now! @Muriel84 I'm same as you I'm dying to just know WHEN 😂 I wish there was an exact science but there's just not they'll come when their ready. One thing is for sure it won't be too much longer! Xx

PeachesAndCreamy · 27/01/2021 17:50

I'm 38+2. I am due to discuss being induced next week anyway due to a blood condition I have but hoping this is it happening on its own!

When I went in yesterday evening I was hooked up to the monitor, the midwife decided I needed an internal exam due to the length and regularity of the contractions it was picking up and she found I was 2cm, babys head very low and did a sweep. Came back in 2 hours to check and hadn't progressed further so they did another sweep and sent me home.

They've gotten worse since then but still no set pattern that I can really tell, I was actually in today for a scan and they checked me again (not internally) whilst I was there and said they think I've come on a bit since last night but still not enough to really warrant staying there. She gave my belly a really big push around, it actually hurt quite a lot and since then my contractions have been a lot worse and more frequent.

She told me to go home and nap because I may not be able to sleep tonight if things keep going. Walk around a little where possible, try the ball if I have one (I don't though) but she said most importantly to just sleep whilst I can, although I bloody can't from all the adrenaline!

She said its like how long is a piece of string but with the contractions, the dilation and the fact I've had my show this morning she would say we could be meeting him in the next few days! Eeek.

Have you tried a hot bath? Seemed to make my contractions more intense tbh which is sort of good and bad 🤣

babydust2412 · 27/01/2021 17:52

@OnNaturesCourse gosh! At least you can be comfortable at home! Keep timing those contractions and just keep an eye on them. Hopefully things start progressing really well soon!! Fingers crossed for you! 🤞🏼🥰
