@Newmumfeb2021 have you tried yoga/Pilates? Not sure where yours is hurting/what is wrong - I have issues with my sacroiliac joints and Pilates does seem to help. And agree with @Safxxx about stick on heat pads!

babbit87 · 24/01/2021 12:48

@Newmumfeb2021 yes to heat pads they helped me so much with other two. Thankfully not suffering from backache with this one (yet anyway). Just curious, why won't you take paracetamol? Safe to take in pregnancy and if you are in pain, why not? I had major migraines in early pregnancy and was prescribed co-codamols as benefits outweighed the risks

OnNaturesCourse · 24/01/2021 13:25

I am the same with paracetamol - I don't find it touches most pain so I don't see the point in it (unless my pain is very minimal kinda thing) I have never had luck with it helping period pain / back pain etc etc.

Today for example, I'd love some pain killers that would help my pelvic bones, back, stomach, groin and, what feels like, my cervix. Not a good day today 😭 and I don't own enough hot water bottles to cover everything lol.

Safxxx · 24/01/2021 13:49

@OnNaturesCourse that combo of pain is the worst 😣 try to lie down with a hot water bottle if your little one lets you.
A while ago i had pelvic/backache so i stuck a heat pad on the back and used hot water bottle on pelvic and tried to lie down as much as possible...it does take the edge off. Hope you feel better soon Xxx

OnNaturesCourse · 24/01/2021 14:22

I've been doing that all morning and it's not helped, I'm getting fidgety with the discomfort now so thats not helping... I've given up and ran a bath to see if that helps. 🤞 Also got so much plug coming away I actually do feel like I'm on my period so I might just call it a day and head to bed to watch some films after my bath.

babydust2412 · 24/01/2021 14:25

@OnNaturesCourse bless you, you sound so uncomfy 😩 definitely have your bath and them snuggle up in bed you deserve it! X

Do any of you guys get a really rock hard bump
Sometimes that's not contractions? I have no idea sometimes whether I'm having bh or what? It's so confusing x

IamC · 24/01/2021 14:30

@babydust2412 yes I do. Has some on the ctg today, but they didn't register as contractions.

Sometime you see massive contractions on there, and I don't even feel them.

Safxxx · 24/01/2021 14:32

@OnNaturesCourse Maybe early stages of labour 🤔
@babydust2412 yes i get rock hard bump think its BH

Muriel84 · 24/01/2021 14:37

@babydust2412 yup my bump goes rock hard lots when it doesn’t feel like BH. Whenever I stand up or go for a walk it does it. I guess to protect baby.

@OnNaturesCourse hope you manage to find somewhere comfy to rest.

OnNaturesCourse · 24/01/2021 14:51

I get the rock solid bump too. Sometimes I find it's baby's position, sometimes BH. Other times I have no idea lol a lot of the time my bump is solid down the middle but my sides aren't which rules out contractions/BH I believe.

OP posts:
babydust2412 · 24/01/2021 14:56

Mines the same, just goes solid, I think it's him pushing up against me sometimes and not having much room to stretch so it feels all tight for me xx

Newmumfeb2021 · 24/01/2021 17:38

Thank you ladies. Yes DH has been using hot oil to massage. He’s been doing it religiously and has been very efficient. 😍
Day 3 now and I feel much better. Not 100% but a lot better since last night. Guess I had a good nights sleep last night. Re paracetamol, I’ve been told by my mum and MIL to not take it at all! So I’ve been avoiding it completely since the beginning of the last trimester. I know GPs and MW often recommend it but my family thinks it’ll affect the baby. So avoiding it 😊

Re stomach tightness- Rock hard as well and it seems to happen around this time in the evenings to late evenings. Sometimes it feels like baby is pushing on my tummy.

Char41zam · 24/01/2021 17:50

I get a really hard bump when she is flipping over, it’s tight and then other times when I get Braxtons. @OnNaturesCourse my plug stopped, I am still feeling yuk and a lot of back ache.

Safxxx · 24/01/2021 18:58

My bumps been hard all day tday, usually its on/off....baby is having a lazy day like me, hes movements are felt against the surface of my tummy and my bump hurts when he moves.....Think hes running out of space now so maybe thats why feels more tight and stretched..... Trying not to eat much today as belly is already bit sore if i eat i'll feel worse. Tday its not BH its definetely the position of the baby.

Safxxx · 24/01/2021 19:10

@Char41zam instead of progressing it seem's to have taken a U Turn 🤔 i guess you will get your wish of getting seen on thursday. Xx
@Newmumfeb2021 glad you feel better then before...like you i don't take paracetamol either, thru out this pregnancy i probably only took it 3 times.

Piccalily19 · 24/01/2021 19:45

I get rock hard bump as well! I’m still not really sure if/when I am having braxton hicks to be honest, i find it so hard to tell!

jbx10 · 24/01/2021 19:45

I can have a solid bump at times too I don't know if it's when she's just pushing her back/bum against my tummy. @Safxxx same for me - getting more painful when she's moving around now/belly feeling much tighter. I think they must be starting to run out of room in there!

I think I had a bit of a nesting frenzy yesterday cleaning house top to bottom. Paying the price for it today my shoulder is in agony & started getting the odd shooting pains in the pelvis area xx

Char41zam · 24/01/2021 19:51

@Safxxx yeah I hope so, although I just feel so yuk I really do! Not sleeping at night I feel nauseous and my back and pelvis are so sore, got a lot of period type cramps today too.

Stef92 · 24/01/2021 20:08

I'm absolutely shattered today. Got 6 more days of work left, I know I'm wfh but I just can't be bothered 🤣

jbx10 · 24/01/2021 20:12

@Stef92 I'm with you! I finish on Friday, wfh but been working on a handover which means calls all day every day 🤦🏽‍♀️ can't wait to finish. Hope I'll get some time to chill before she makes an appearance

OnNaturesCourse · 24/01/2021 20:15

Well after a hellish day of pelvic pain, backache, sickness, massive plug loss, multiple loo trips and feeling utterly out of sorts plus having increasingly painful contractions every 5 or so minutes... Everything has eased off. (except tightness and aches when I walk)

What a day.

I feel like I've been hit by a bus.

39 weeks tomorrow for me and so ready to have this baby! So many aches and pains, terrible trouble sleeping but no signs of anything imminent. You can’t help but get your hopes up you won’t have the dreaded over due wait!

Stef92 · 24/01/2021 20:54

@jbx10 I have made a start on my handover on a spreadsheet 🤣 for some reason I said I'd work the Monday next week, I'm taking 9 days of annual leave that I couldn't take last year before I officially start my maternity leave as will get to april on relatively unchanged pay with 2 weeks holiday and 6 weeks at 90% 🙄

Safxxx · 24/01/2021 21:16

@IronMummy28 wow 39 wks could be any day now 🤗 yes i'm sure non of us want to go over our due dates 🤞
@OnNaturesCourse just when it goes to the stage of thinking you will go into labour it eases off 🙄
@Char41zam it sucks right but hang in there hopefully it eases off for you too.
@Stef92 @jbx10 hope time flies for you both and the maternity leave starts Asap so you can relax and take it easy. Xx

jbx10 · 24/01/2021 21:17

@OnNaturesCourse oh sounds tough!! try get some rest whilst your contractions have eased off, tomorrow may be your big day!

@Stef92 good plan! I start my mat leave straight away & have saved up carried over holiday from last year plus the hols I'll accrue this year to take on those last few unpaid months, so my last couple of months will be back up to full pay x
