@Sitchervice

20 week scan went well. I'm happy I saw my little boy again. Even if he was trying to hide his face with his hands. XD

~No pictures today please!~

Worried for nothing but still he's my babe

Aww yay! I am so glad everything went well. Aww little monkey hiding his face! So cute. Do you feel better for seeing him?
Waitingforbabypage · 28/01/2021 16:13

I'm headachy again today, sudden onset of thumping which doesn't feel nice, also my daughter thinks my bladder is a squeeze toy- I am peeing so much! Haha!
Travel system arrived yesterday. I popped it all together and checked it was all ok- it's absolutely gorgeous, I am in love with it!
So glad we got it when we did cos it's back to full price now.

Also, having such a big gap between my current youngest and this newbie, so much has changed! Car seats for example! They're huge and it lays practically flat- which is obviously a good thing but I just wasn't expecting it. I can't wait to use everything.

Another scan tomorrow to recheck a few things but I'm not worried, we've seen everything was fine she was just moving too much to get a picture 😂

@Waitingforbabypage yeah I love seening him. Due to my low papp-a a ill be seeing him more later on for growth checks. He was measuring fine though at this scan so I'm confident he's going to be fine. (Hopefully not a chonk!)

Humpty11 · 28/01/2021 19:27

@Bs93 you’re definitely not lazy at all! I’m speaking to my manager next week to find out if I can take my years worth of annual leave from the beginning of April so I definitely think I’m the one that’s lazy 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

Nesski · 28/01/2021 21:17

@Sitchervice so pleased that it went well, I'm sure relieved is an understatement!

Bs93 · 29/01/2021 08:52

Ahh good luck!! What time is yours? Mine’s 9am so atleast I won’t be waiting round worrying. Although 9:30 would’ve been nice since it’s paid time off hahah
That will be amazing for your partner to see the baby, especially with how detailed the 20 week scans are!
I’ve started just ignoring all the weird feelings now because I just can’t tell for sure 🙈 maybe we will be able to tell at the scan whether we can feel baby when we see them moving around on screen

Bs93 · 29/01/2021 08:53

Haha I don’t blame you, April doesn’t seem too far away now does it! Counting down the days already 🙈

curiouscat1987 · 29/01/2021 09:54
@curiouscat1987 I randomly picked up a nivea body oil last week (q10 firming + stretch marks) much cheaper than bio oil and isn’t running out as quickly so far. Smells nice too!
Also did you mention on the last thread about the oyster 3? I think this is the one we’re going to choose but like you say doesn’t get talked about a lot! I found it was the easiest to use, packed down fairly small and decent price for the quality. Going to have the 20wk scan next Tuesday and if all ok will put the order in.
Yep that was me! Havent seen one in person or anything so figured would take a gamble :) where are you getting yours from? Ive been trying to monitor price since black friday but not noticed any deals sadly...

curiouscat1987 · 29/01/2021 09:57

Random q, but anyone got any recommendations for thermometers? Ideally a digital one for adults and babies. Assumed it would be easy to choose one but theyre either super £££ or seem like they could be dodgy knock offs!

Nesski · 29/01/2021 10:27

I'm just having a bit of a freak out at the moment, I've had a few friends who gave birth during covid and they all said that the level of care has been really awful, especially at night time. I'm really hoping by June our partners can stay in the post-natal ward with us for support Sad, will be trying to get an indication to see if my hospital has started to consider it at all!

lucieloos · 29/01/2021 10:48

@curiouscat1987 we use the brain thermoscan it's is a bit ££ but it's really good and suitable for all of us. The in ear ones are best.

@Nesski the level of care around here has been really good from what people have said but I would have loved my mum to be there as well this time but not much chance of that I wouldn't have thought. I would have gone for a home birth but I can't really as I had a csection last time.

DLHJune24 · 29/01/2021 13:09

@curiouscat1987 I haven’t found any deals either, think the 3 is fairly new. We have a warehouse type place which have loads of baby products and we visited before lockdown, the service was really good so think I’ll order from them (I’m in Hereford).

Opticabbage · 29/01/2021 13:24

@curiouscat1987 we bought the most expensive in-ear Braun thermometer for baby number 1, and it really wasnt worth it. Under arm is most accurate when they're tiny anyway. We only realised when that's how they take temps at the hospital.

lucieloos · 29/01/2021 14:52

@curiouscat1987 sorry braun thermoscan not brain 🤣

lucieloos · 29/01/2021 14:54

@Opticabbage oh we've found it really accurate and whenever we've been to hospital or gp that's always what they've used.

MarshallCleo · 29/01/2021 16:58

@lucieloos I definitely googled 'brain thermoscan' Blush

ChasingARainbow · 29/01/2021 23:19

How's everyone doing? I'm 21+1 and over the last 3 days have felt a swishing movement at a few points though out the day/evening.
Has anyone else booked in to NCT classes yet, we've just booked ours to start in April so looking forward to that as she's our first and we haven't got much experience with babies.
Exciting that some of you are getting pram deliveries, I can't wait to start looking x

Whywontitname · 30/01/2021 05:40

Anyone had any pregnancy nosebleeds? I’ve just woken up with one and had another a couple of weeks ago.

Not something I’ve had previously! Just wondering how frequent they usually are. Hoping they don’t increase as I get further along.

Fishingforhappiness · 30/01/2021 07:46

Just sat reading all your updates... glad to hear everyone is so well. Now 21+1. Had my 20 week scan monday, she didnt play ball and wouldnt move and show her face... every after a walk, squats and running up the stairs so going back monday. They also seem a bit worried about my family history so had to go back tuesday for clotting blood tests and had my whooping cough vaccine, then wednesday for an echo on my heart. Felt like i've lived there this week. I found the echo so embarassing as a doctor jabbed an ultra sound probe in my boob for 35mins and im now so sore and bruised, and worries i will struggle breast feeding in piblic if i cant even handle one doctor jabbing my boob. Do you just stop caring?!

And is anyone else peeing alot?! I now have to get up at 4am every night to pee. And worry that once ive been, i havent "finished' and seem need to pee again 10mins later. Normal or uti?Confused

swiftt · 30/01/2021 08:03

@Fishingforhappiness aw, I had to have a rescan too as I also have a very uncooperative little one in there! I’m sure all will be fine, it must be so stressful having so many appointments though.

I’ve had the constant peeing for a while now, always feels like I haven’t finished. I had my urine tested and all was clear, but I’d let your midwife know so they can dip your urine just to rule a UTI out.

AlRRRR · 30/01/2021 08:07

@Fishingforhappiness I think once you get used to bfeeding in general, you’re just not bothered 😂😂😂😂😂 I just used to wop the boob out in front of anyone, but you can do it discreetly as you get the hang of it. U won’t even see any boob 😁😁😁

Humpty11 · 30/01/2021 08:37

@Fishingforhappiness I breastfed my first until he was one and you honestly don’t care about who sees your boobs when all you want is for your baby to be happy after a feed. I was a bit self conscious to start with and found that you can definitely be more discreet about it, until they reach about 4 months and every noise is an interest so they just stretch your nipple as they move their head to look and then let go 😳.

BlondePotter · 30/01/2021 09:59

@Fishingforhappiness I'm 21w5 and there with you on the peeing front. Feel like I'm desperate, go and pee like an eggcup full, go back downstairs and feel I need to go again. Asked a couple of friends whether this was my life now and they said yes and it gets worse 🤣

As for BF, I got lansinoh yesterday for my crusty nipple, and sat there on the sofa with my nip out for a while, told DH he just had to get used to that sight 🤣

AlRRRR · 30/01/2021 10:39

@BlondePotter May I ask why your nipples are crusty? Is this a preg or are you still feeding another child? x

BlondePotter · 30/01/2021 11:00

@airrrr pregnancy thing, my right nipple had been itchy for about 4 weeks, flaky and then if I scratch it too much I get crusty bits 🙈 I believe it's just where it's growing and stretching, it's bigger than my left now so I wonder whether my left will catch up 🤣
