Literally I have bought nothing, although I have gained a new level of sass. We have got our windows changed this week as they were about 50 year old sash windows, and the company had installed it wonky. The cheeky mofos actually said 'oh it's an old house so it would be wonky, there's not much we can do'. My partner was trying to be diplomatic about it but I was having none of it (I was sneak listening), stormed into the room (we were all socially distanced) and actually did the teapot with hand on bump/you've pissed off a pregnant woman thing and basically told them that I don't live in a clown house and they'll take them out of the box and redo it, the guy clearly didn't want to argue with me and just agreed Grin It's the baby's nursery so it really pissed me off. Gotta milk this pregnancy thing where I can!

We’ve bought a pushchair and some vests in bundles from eBay sizes new born and 0-3. I had a panic a few weeks ago that if baby came we wouldn’t have any clothes 😂

We need to get a car seat at some point but most other bits we’ll get from family etc. Baby will have the same cot that I had Smile

PinkPlantCase · 13/02/2021 13:46

@Nesski that’s hilarious 😂😂 hope they’re straight now.

@TerryRose- my iron has been at 7 (13 on a good day!) my whole life. Got pregnant and it somehow shot up to ‘ the iron levels of a robust young man ‘ according to my midwife.

I’m also veggie. The only changes seem to have been :

  • replacing tea/coffee with hot lemon and honey (tea depletes iron, vit c helps with absorbing iron)
  • pregnancy vitamins (I’m taking the boots ones)
  • snacking on dried figs a lot (midwife recommended them as a good iron rich snack)

Might not be a lot but they seem to be doing the trick for me. Worth a try?

I know everyone has said they are getting some hip/side pain through the night. But is anyone getting it through the day? I have aches in both sides when standing and moving. But defo like a constant dull ache on the one side lower back/hip/bum even leg a little, it’s a nagging ache like when I stand still or sit upright?

Is this normal?

Yep,get yourself a physio referral from the midwife! There are support belts etc that can help :)
curiouscat1987 · 13/02/2021 16:10

Is anyone else trying to source second hand bits? Im thinking it'd be great to get a lot of clothes second hand since they only fit for like 2 minutes - have got some free from people locally getting rid. Also got a free perfect prep machine which im quite pleased with! Trying to collate a list of the smaller bits like mattress for the cot, sheets, nursery lighting, shelving etc.

Has anyone got any pinterest boards or anything on the go? Starting to think about stuff like decorating the room , anyone got any plans?

Fightingtobepositive · 13/02/2021 16:11

You get the dull aches to @curiouscat1987 ? I’m just getting obsessed with every feeling lately x

Dull aches, sharp stabbing pain, crunching, you name it! It sounds like pelvic girdle pain but ask your midwife to be sure
BlondePotter · 13/02/2021 17:27

@curiouscat1987 we recently decorated baby room with pale yellow paint and Harry potter wallpaper 😆 I can't help myself, I love HP!
But don't plan on even putting baby in there for months so not sure why we bothered

lucieloos · 13/02/2021 17:30

Anyone else still being sick? 😞

I love yellow so i totally understand! Ive chosen a chair to go in there and it comes in either grey or yellow. Im desperate for the yellow, but grey is so much more practical....any opinions guys?

@curiouscat1987 I love the yellow!! I have a very similar colour chair and it has not stained and still looks fab. It's in the playroom too so not exactly a mess free zone!

Humpty11 · 13/02/2021 19:47

@lucieloos I’m still sick most mornings when I get up and I’m still taking my cyclizine once a day because I’m scared that it’ll be worse if I stop! I hope you’re not feeling too grim 😢

lucieloos · 13/02/2021 21:42

@Humpty11 it's rough isn't it. I'm was on cyclizine amongst other things but I stopped a while back as it wasn't really doing a lot.

Nesski · 14/02/2021 04:28

On another note, I was walking in the park today and the number of children having tantrums i.e throwing things in the floor and storming off, screaming, scream-crying.... Too late for regrets now? Grin I remember when my mum would literally just slap us once (smack bottom)/give us the eye which would put us back in line... This is going to be fun!!

Humpty11 · 14/02/2021 06:54

@lucieloos I’m sure the positive effective of the cyclizine for my sickness is all in my head and I don’t actually need it 😂🤦🏼‍♀️. How many weeks are you now? I’ve found my indigestion has ramped up too so the sickness can sometimes be from that but a spoonful of gaviscon works wonders! I didn’t get the pregnancy glow with my son and I don’t think I will this time either... just the glow of post vomit sweating 😂. I hope yours starts to ease up soon!

@Nesski my son is 2 and in full toddler tantrum mode, you just ride through it when you’re the parent to said tantruming child! I’m sure like other stages it’ll be over soon (I bloody hope 🤞🏼🤞🏼).

For mum’s who are on their second + pregnancy; how are your movements? I’ve got an anterior placenta so not sure if this is also contributing but 80% of the movements are really low down and around my bladder. At my 20 week scan they said baby is head down but can obviously move position but I’m wondering if this is where baby will stay as it’s my second baby and my body knows what it’s doing this time? Sorry this is probably a really stupid question!

Jinglebells87 · 14/02/2021 07:29

@Humpty11 I'm on my third pregnancy also with an anterior placenta. Most of my movement were below my belly button until about 2-3 weeks ago (currently 24 + 4) but now they are all over the place! I'm no expert but I doubt it will stay head down this early as I assume they are still small enough to be floating around in there Grin.
How far along are you?

Humpty11 · 14/02/2021 07:38

@Jinglebells87 this is what I thought but then wondered if it might be different the second time where my body has done it before! I’m 23+4 now. Is this your first pregnancy with an anterior placenta?

AlRRRR · 14/02/2021 08:07

@Humpty11 This is my 2nd, got another aged 4 in March. I’m 21 + 4 days and feeling it low down near pubic bone, bladder area when I do feel her. I felt loads after 20’weeks scan last week, had a good few days of feeling wriggling, but past 3 days, not very much, odd kick here and there :) Small bump too, nothing over the top 🤣🤣🤣🤣

AlRRRR · 14/02/2021 08:09

Forgot to say I also have an anterior placenta, think it was posterior with 1st

Sitchervice · 14/02/2021 08:39

Still not feeling my baby. :(

AlRRRR · 14/02/2021 08:52

@Sitchervice Have you ever felt any kind of movement?

My midwife said anything up to week 24, is absolutely normal :)

Jinglebells87 · 14/02/2021 09:18

@Humpty11 I had an anterior placenta with my last as well. I can't really remember if he went head down any quicker! It's all the blur now! Lol Grin

Fightingtobepositive · 14/02/2021 11:11

Hi all, I’m not sure if I’ve moaned to you all about this just yet... but I’ve been obsessively
Looking on every thread so I probably have.

I am just at my whitsend with worry, I had some bleeding on and off which was taken quite serious because of potential placenta privea. Well during these investigations a doctor came across something on my cervix, they said maybe an ectropion but an extensive one. I was then sent for a colposcopy and they also said probably ectropion but wanted a second opinion. I have now been sent for another colposcopy by a specialist consultant. I am just so bloody frightened for the worst, I’m 23 weeks and my anxiety is through the roof. My poor baby 💙

I am upto date I with smears (due one in April so quite close to being over) and I’ve realised that my last smear was the outdated version and did not check for hpv. Any support or info would be so appreciated. All I’m doing is crying and googling! X
