Hey all,

I know this is bit of a long shot, but is anyone due in March 2021?

I appreciate everyone is from different places, but are there a few ladies that want to create a WhatsApp group or something so we can be “cyber mum friends”?

I know being a mum (or a first time mum in my case) can be very daunting and a scary time, and not only that, but it can be quite lonely.. so it’s be great if a few people would like to become “online friends” so we can just talk and have company/share experiences/worries/how bored they are Hmm

@Mahdia
Definitely recommend getting some omeprazole, it's saved my sanity!

Jonesy86 · 18/02/2021 09:10

@Mahdia omg yes I ended up calling my doctor in tears as heart burn been so bad they gave me a prescription for this liquid it's gross but works. I was getting worried as had a cough but turns out it all connected. I only
Cough just before heart burn kicks in. I got to the Point where I didn't want to eat incase it flared up. Tbh I am still cautious of eating. Drinking water makes it so much worse as well. I found a bowl of ice cream hour before bed helps and Milk shakes as well. Not healthiest but it helped me fall asleep.
Defo give doctor a call as they can prescribe something. Xx

dinosaur17 · 18/02/2021 09:18

@Mahdia I’ve found propping myself basically upright to sleep is the only way to stop the heartburn. OH is sick of my pillow fort 😂

KB13 · 18/02/2021 10:01

Heartburn and SPD is awful at nighttime now, that and feeling like my stomach is being crushed when I lay down.

I’m off for a growth scan today as little one had dropped a lot when they did the tape measurement at my midwife appointment on Tuesday. I know everyone says take those measurements with a pinch of salt as they aren’t the most accurate but it doesn’t stop me from worrying. Looking forward to seeing bubba again though ☺️ My 2 daughters have got to the stage now where they ask me if I’m in labour every morning 😅 how’s everyone else?

Mahdia · 18/02/2021 12:15

@Perfect28 ill definitely try that, Is it prescribed only or over the counter. Don't think Gaviscone is doing wonders for me. 😔

@Jonesy86 yeah the bitterness of it is gross (sorry tmi) mmm yummy ice cream does wonders. Ibtried Greek yogurt and honey for my midnight snack at 1:30am, I felt like a naughty toddler sneakily eating candy in the middle of the night!!!!
@dinosaur17 Defo propping up with pillows is a wonder Grin

@KB13 hope the growth scan goes well and trust me it'll be great seeing your lifelike baby 👶.It felt more real seeing a big baby at 36 weeks than in 20 weeks. I Wonder when they introduced 36+ weeks growth scan. Never had it before.
My kids also ask eveytime i have braxton hicks or a sharp kick and I gasp 😆 they think this is it.
Hope everyone else is good

Perfect28 · 18/02/2021 12:51

@mahdia

You can get it over the counter but the pharmacy wouldnt give it to me because of the visible bump, said to go to my Dr. Tbh that's fine by me because then it's free (loving this prescription charge exemption rn)

dinosaur17 · 18/02/2021 13:40

@KB13 Hope your scan goes well, I’m sure it’ll be lovely to see bubs! I’ve got a scan tomorrow, not that he keeps still enough to properly get a look at. Fidget x

KB13 · 18/02/2021 18:37

Thank you ladies. Scan went well, little man is growing nicely on the 50th centile. So just got to wait for him to make his arrival now was told that I would be induced after 12 days overdue which I’m hoping it doesn’t come to that 😬

MrsW150917 · 18/02/2021 22:57

I'm 36+1 and started hand expressing.
Just wondered if anyone else is and how you're finding it? I'm really pleased in first 2 attempts I filled my first 1ml syringe. I felt so proud!!
I was always against the idea of breastfeeding before being pregnant but I've completely changed my mind about it and I actually can't wait now ☺️

KB13 · 19/02/2021 08:45

Hi @MrsW150917 I started 2 weeks ago. I only do it in the bath as I find it easiest to get it out there plus I can hide from my other 2 kids ha. I’ve got 8 syringes, but have found that only my left breast is currently playing ball. Hoping the right one will get the idea soon 🙈

MrsW150917 · 19/02/2021 09:32

@KB13 haha same for me the left is best! 😂

Mahdia · 20/02/2021 06:24

How do you hand express? I find my breast quite sorry especially nipple area (sorry tmi). Does it induce labour? Has anyone heard of castor oil inducing labour? My friend's midwife said some ppl use it (only a teaspoon) and it seems to get the ball rolling but others say its not too safe or something? 😕 bit confusing isn't it when there are pros and cons 🤔 for some things.

Hope everyone slept nicely last night.
Tk care xxx

Jonesy86 · 20/02/2021 09:06

Morning. Has anyone had where they cough/sneeze and they see stars for few seconds in sides of vision? I saw midwife yesterday and my
Blood pressure and urine was fine. I did mention to her happened about a month ago and she said she not worried as everything seems normal but the. Happened again this morning and freaked me out a bit!! Otherwise I feel ok. Eyes tired as not sleeping great and always had floaters in them. X

MrsW150917 · 20/02/2021 09:38

@Jonesy86 I've had that before even when I've not been pregnant sometimes after a sneeze or if I stand up too quick. I doubt it's nothing to worry about it probably a bit of pressure but if it's concerning you bring it up to GP maybe x

Jonesy86 · 20/02/2021 09:49

@MrsW150917 thanks. I thought maybe blood pressure was too low as didn't eat
Much last night and had bad night with my 1 yo so over tired. If happens again I might get checked. It didn't last long and I felt fine after. You would think being third pregnancy know what doing hahaha. I'm worse than before lol

Polkadot123 · 21/02/2021 11:19

Oooo I’m going to start hand expressing next week and using the little syringes and harvesting the colostrum. Just waiting. For them to arrive via amazon. How have you found it so far? The midwife told me to start at 37 weeks as the oxytocin release can very very rarely stimulate labour so just be cautious. They say you can do it early if your having a planned section or having an early induction though :) X

dinosaur17 · 21/02/2021 11:57

@Polkadot123 you should be fine. I’ve started as mw said was fine from 37 weeks. Bloody hell it’s taking me years though! I’m only getting about 0.1ml off at a time and it’s taking a good 20 mins. Hope you’re more successful! X

MrsW150917 · 21/02/2021 12:29

MW told me I can from 36 weeks so far I've filled 2 of the 1ml syringes and have started on 3rd one now.
I only express for about 10 mins a time and only twice a day. It is difficult and my left breast definitely the better one but I feel so happy and proud after I've done it ☺️ can't wait for him to be here now I've got a rocking chair in his nursery for feeding time x

Polkadot123 · 21/02/2021 16:44

Oooo I’ll start in the next few days then :) my midwife said to me even 0.1ml is great so keep going with it :) sure you’re both doing a fab job! Oooo I’ve just about finished my nursery now, really considering getting a lovely rocking chair, maybe an old one and upcycling it 😍... if i can find the energy. Must say it’s been a bit of a pain trying to decorate/ find carpet places that are open for browsing mid pandemic 🙈
Not going to lie- I’ve just got back from a canal walk, probs about 4 miles and I’m absolutely shattered- I’ve felt great till now but my ankles have ballooned 😅 time to take it easy now ladies I think :)

MrsW150917 · 21/02/2021 17:31

@Polkadot123 ohh yes I've been going on long walks with DH every Sunday but last week it knocked me about, the day after it felt like I'd been riding a bike with all the pressure down there so I'm taking it easy now!
I'm convinced he will make an early appearance, people are commenting that I've dropped now aswell! So exciting !! 😆
Had a surprise virtual baby shower through Microsoft Teams yesterday it was lovely and has made it feel all that bit more real now! 🥰

dinosaur17 · 21/02/2021 18:54

@MrsW150917 Ah that’s so lovely! All the girls at my work keep asking to organise something but I just don’t have the patience 😂

The long walks are a bit much aren’t they. My physio has suggested a bump band to help whilst I’m on my feet but I’m so tired I don’t think I have the energy to go!

Started having irregular contractions and intense pressure in my bum after using my birthing ball but they tailed off after an hour!

MrsW150917 · 21/02/2021 20:38

@dinosaur17 it was a surprise arranged by the moms! I went down my moms for dinner as she's in my bubble and when I got there it was all decorated with gifts everywhere and her laptop set up with the in laws and my sisters online on cam, it was really lovely they did a quiz and we ate afternoon tea in little boxes from a caterer my MIL knows! ☺️ you shouldn't plan it anyway! Tell the girls at work to knock something together and have a quiz night aswell..
I tend to use my ball whilst I'm at the laptop working from home but sometimes when I get up off it I feel like I've done 103984739920 squats 😂 probably because I have tbf I'm bouncing away and lose track of time haha

dinosaur17 · 21/02/2021 20:46

@MrsW150917 That’s so lovely! Think everyone was expecting him to have arrived by now. They can organise one where he attends his own party 😂

My kids use the ball more than I do to launch at each other 😂 I’ve been using it this eve to try and see if it’ll ramp things up a bit! Going to give the hand expressing another go now they’re all in bed

MrsW150917 · 21/02/2021 21:06

@dinosaur17 LOL I was attempting to express whilst watching dancing on ice but I have a puppy who was adamant it was play time and he wanted the ball continuously throwing so I gave up, going in bath now for 2nd attempt at expressing!.. I only have a dog to contend with at the moment never mind 2 other kids so I feel for you lol
I'm not due til 17th March but I wouldn't mind if he wanted to come early now I'm fed up and feel like I'll split down the middle any minute now! 😩🙏🏻 I'm ready!

dinosaur17 · 21/02/2021 21:14

Lol it’s not the most relaxing environment is it! I’ve got DSS both DCs and the dog that thinks he’s a puppy to try and contend with and they’re all getting up every 5 minutes 😂😂 Managing a bit better with supply this eve though!
