Hey all,

I know this is bit of a long shot, but is anyone due in March 2021?

I appreciate everyone is from different places, but are there a few ladies that want to create a WhatsApp group or something so we can be “cyber mum friends”?

I know being a mum (or a first time mum in my case) can be very daunting and a scary time, and not only that, but it can be quite lonely.. so it’s be great if a few people would like to become “online friends” so we can just talk and have company/share experiences/worries/how bored they are Hmm

Anyone else itchy on their chest, drives me mad! (not palms or feet so hopefully not serious and MW wasn't worried). The lack of sleep too, I wanted to get my sleep in now before I get none for the next 3 years Grin. I fall asleep fine but at around 3am I'm up till OH gets up for work at 6.30 then go back to sleep till 8ish. So weird.

@MrsW150917 I am 35weeks and really want to harvest my colostrum when I can, what are you doing with it once you've expressed? straight in the freezer?

MrsW150917 · 22/02/2021 10:52

@alc123 yep I pop it in a food bag and label it up when it was expressed and then put it straight in freezer with date on. It's advised to take with you to hospital and the MW will take it off you and store and then bring it to you when baby comes.
I can do a 1ml syringe in a day now but I've moved onto the 2.5ml now and it takes 2 days. Just keep in the fridge in between 👍🏻☺️
Good luck. Makes me feel so proud, hoping to get more syringes off MW today

dinosaur17 · 22/02/2021 10:58

@MrsW150917 That’s fab!! Im not seeing the MW til next week so I’ve ordered some syringes off Amazon.
It took me 6 goes over 2 days to get 0.5ml off but managed to get nearly 1.5ml off in one go last night and another 1ml this morning. Couldn’t believe it!

MrsW150917 · 22/02/2021 11:14

@dinosaur17 well done!! I find each time I do it I'm expressing that bit more every time so I think it gets better the more you do ☺️

Mahdia · 22/02/2021 11:50

Hi ladies
I've never heard of expressing colostrum before birth before! 😆 where have I been eh??
What do you need to buy as I'm quite intrigued with the whole idea? 🤔 is it painful coz my nipples are so sore atm I can't even think about self expressing.. 😕
Thanks

dinosaur17 · 22/02/2021 12:36

@Mahdia I’d not heard of it with my older ones but have seen a few posts etc about it with this one! When are you next seeing the midwife? Mine gave me some 1ml syringes with caps on at my last appointment and an information leaflet.

I’ve ordered some more syringes as I’m not seeing her again for a week.

Not painful but if you’ve got a barrier cream or something that might help, there’s a good video on the NCT website about how to do it. Do persevere, I was ready to give up after 3 days of getting tiny drops x

Polkadot123 · 22/02/2021 18:25

This is a great account to follow for some tips. In her highlights she’s done a full introduction to it. It was put on a couple of days ago with a q&a

@Polkadot123 I've just had a look, that insta page is great in general, some amazing birth pics!

Mahdia · 23/02/2021 22:03

@dinosaur17 thnxs for the advice! I'll only be seeing my midwife again 3 days before due date so on the 7th March. I bought the lansinoh nipple cream its small but definitely mighty as it does wonders. I remember when I was breastfeeding my 2 yr old now jow cracked sore and painful breastfeeding was until my cousin bought Lansinoh cream for me that's when I had a relief from the pain.
I definitely recommend it its small and pricey I think mine was £10 from tesco but defo worth it.
Anyone put up the moses basket/ cot/next to me crib. I was thinking tomorrow (38 weeks tomorrow)
Take care everyone ❤

Polkadot123 · 23/02/2021 22:20

@Mahdia I was thinking about getting the crib set up tomorrow just to get use to it in our room and to see which is the best way to have it. We built the cot the other day and after cleaned my car today I tried out the baby seat. Arghhhhh alll gettin very real now and exciting. Still can’t believe I’m having a baby 🙈
@alc123 the images are amazing aren’t they- very raw and real indeed 🙌

MrsW150917 · 23/02/2021 22:43

I've had my Moses basket since I was about 28 weeks! 😂 we just put it together right after decorating his nursery so have been super organised for a while. Also had hospital bags packed and waiting in the dining room since then aswell, I'll have to dust them off when the time comes haha!

@Mahdia I have that nipple cream too I got it off Amazon the reviews were really good!
Doing well with the colostrum harvesting now I have 6 full syringes 🙌🏻 I love it! 😁

Yes getting very real now ladies, I do hope I don't go over I love already been told he's looking like he will be 8lbs. I feel soooo big now, doesn't help I'm only 5ft tall, I just feel like I'll rip any minute so I keep telling him if he wants to come now he can!! Ha x

MrsW150917 · 23/02/2021 22:43

I've already *

Mahdia · 24/02/2021 09:58

@Polkadot123 I checked the Instagram pics of birth and it is really raw and real not like they show you in Hollywood movies a clean baby and a clean mummy!! 😆
It does seem real especially seeing buggy cot and other baby items. Talking of items, I'm not sure when the best time to sterilise a bottle to take to hospital incase I would need it after labour. I remember using it for my daughter, I was soooo exhausted and wouldn't give enough colostrum to satisfy her and the pre-eclampsia didn't go away straight away (raised blood pressure and protein innurine still) i was so nauseous and very dizzy, I wouldn't eat or drink in fear of vomiting for nearly 2 days in hospital.
Anyway happy thoughts happy 😊 baby 👶 lol

@MrsW150917 aww 8 pounds is quite good size not tooooo big and not small either its a perfect size!! 😃
Well done for the colostrum harvesting!! I'm wondering instead of bottle feeding if I feel out of it, is it easier to try the colostrum thingy. It just seems strange especially if you've never done it before.... do you give the colostrum to the baby after birth and if so, do you give it through a bottle or the syringe itself.

Thanks ladies and sorry about the long post kkkk just went down memory lane today!! 😆

Tk care xxx

MeelaNotMyla · 24/02/2021 18:04

Hi just found this thread, I'm due 8 March but being induced 1 March. Am really anxious about induction though after reading loads of stories online!

MrsW150917 · 24/02/2021 19:03

@Mahdia I found this link on YouTube about how to feed the baby through the syringes

Xx

MrsW150917 · 24/02/2021 19:04

@MeelaNotMyla Good luck!
You will get to have your baby in your arms very soon!! 🥰♥️

HungryHippo20 · 24/02/2021 20:31

Ladies I've not been on for a while but dropping by with update!!

Scan today at 37+6 showed placenta only moved slightly, just enough to be safe but baby estimated to be 11lbs 😳😱so this, with placenta and fibroid means section advised.

Was glad in end decision taken out of my hands although SHOCKED THEY BOOKED ME IN TOMORROW!!!! so this is it we meet our baby girl tomorrow and she becomes a February baby 🥰🥰🥰🥰 so nervous/excited/shocked!!

Off to try and get some sleep before very early rise.....to be in for 7am 😁

MrsW150917 · 24/02/2021 22:42

Good luck @HungryHippo20 hope all goes well!! Lucky you getting her tomorrow! Wow 🥰

Polkadot123 · 25/02/2021 09:00

Awww wow @HungryHippo20 that’s amazing!!! Eeee best of luck!!!! Xxx

dinosaur17 · 25/02/2021 12:18

@HungryHippo20 Best of luck for you for today!!

I’ve just got home from 2 days on assessment/antenatal unit for concerns over possible pre-eclampsia which quickly turned to worry that I had a blood clot on my brain. MRI of your head at 38 weeks is certainly no picnic! Thankfully all seems to be well other than an ongoing headache, now I’ve had some rest I’m very ready to get this little one moving!

Hope everyone is having a relaxing last week or 2! Xx

MrsW150917 · 25/02/2021 13:19

OMG @dinosaur17 how stressful that must have been!! 🤭 and having to face it all whilst being heavily pregnant. Bless you!!
Glad you are ok though. Put your feet up now xx

dinosaur17 · 25/02/2021 13:43

@MrsW150917 Thank you, trying to relax a bit today. Not the easiest as the house is a mess, OH is back at work and kids are homeschooling. But I’m repacking my bag and stocking up on carbs 😂

Was honestly so thankful to be home last night xx

Mahdia · 25/02/2021 19:53

@dinosaur17 Oh no! I hope that everything is good now! I have had pre-eclampsia creep up on me the last week of my pregnancy 😫 and its a no joke as its a life threatening condition which affects you and your baby! That's why I got induced with my last baby (2 yrs ago)

Enjoy being at home before labour!! My friends are telling me why are you stressing about inducing labour naturally whilst you can "try" to enjoy the last week(s) of pregnancy and pamper yourself before you won't even have time to run a bath for 1 hour for yourself later (lol 😆) it's just that at some point pregnancy becomes sooo long and tiring 😅 that you r ready to evict bubsy!!

Not long to go now ladies!! Let's enjoy the last 3 days of February before our due month gets here. Any tips on pampering yourself at home except for stuffing yourself with cake and custard!!! Paint your toenails is off my list can hardly do my shoelaces!!!!

Tk care ❤

dinosaur17 · 25/02/2021 20:41

@Mahdia Thank you. All ok, headache is still a bit persistent but BP is down and nothing in my wee! Seeing the midwife twice a week now until he makes an appearance. I’m tempted to ask for a sweep tomorrow as it set things off super quick with last baby. I’ve been having period pains and lower back pain for a good week now.

I’m sure we’re all reaching that point now!

Mahdia · 25/02/2021 20:56

@dinosaur17 that's nice to hear! When was your due date? Mine is 10th March. Has anyone heard of Miles circuit? Just done one now on my bed and boy did i feel pressure down there!!!
