Hey all,

I know this is bit of a long shot, but is anyone due in March 2021?

I appreciate everyone is from different places, but are there a few ladies that want to create a WhatsApp group or something so we can be “cyber mum friends”?

I know being a mum (or a first time mum in my case) can be very daunting and a scary time, and not only that, but it can be quite lonely.. so it’s be great if a few people would like to become “online friends” so we can just talk and have company/share experiences/worries/how bored they are Hmm

@HungryHippo20 also had a scan yesterday to check the placenta, luckily for me it has moved up. They're already estimating the baby to be over 7lbs and I've decided on ELCS after all, just waiting for the date.

I've asked around and it looks like my hospital is allowing visitors after delivery for 2h a day, which makes me feel so much better. Hope it's like that (or better) for all of you!

NotThatKindOfDoctor · 28/01/2021 10:18

I 100% get what you mean @HungryHippo20, if I go to my consultant appointment next week and they don’t give me a date for whatever reason, I’ll feel flat as a pancake afterwards.

Apparently bigger babies are the norm with GD, but small babies are quite common too. GD is caused by the placenta messing with hormones and making you carb intolerant, and for whatever reason that’s translated into a small (for me) baby. I think he’s due to be around the 7lb mark, which will seem teeny tiny to me after having such whoppers in the past!

Haha, I’ve got the opposite problem! I expected to have another big baby and have only bought clothes for a big one 🤦🏻‍♀️😂. Now I have to go and buy new born stuff!

HungryHippo20 · 28/01/2021 10:25

@MForMed that's good news for you! When will you get a date? In some ways I think it must be so nice to know what date your baby will arrive!! I haven't seen any update re visitors and I know hubby only gets to stay two hours after birth but I guess so much can change between now and then!

@NotThatKindOfDoctor it's just the not knowing I hate. Also I wanted try perineal massage and I really would rather not bother if I'm going for section!! 🤣 but I guess I'll just need to start just in case....

MForMed · 28/01/2021 20:32

@HungryHippo20 I was told I would be notified about the date within two weeks, but it will be at some point in the last week of February. Not March any more, but I hope I can stay here, in this thread! Wink

I'm hoping that within the next few weeks restrictions won't change (or will be lifted), 2h is better than nothing. DH wasn't allowed to attend any scans, so I appreciate that at least I'll be able to see him after the delivery. That also means I can relax with the hospital bag a bit (have already packed a big trolley bag with absolutely everything just in case).

NotThatKindOfDoctor · 01/02/2021 09:19

Hows everyone doing?

After a terrible weekend (crappy sleep, feeling like crap etc etc) I slept like the dead last night and it’s only 3 days until my consultant appointment to get the date for my csection Grin so am feeling really good today*!

(Still have pretty much no energy and finding motivating myself to do any work whatsoever almost impossible 😂. If there was an Olympic medal for procrastinating, I’d definitely get gold 😂).

Squellyolwelly · 01/02/2021 12:45

@NotThatKindOfDoctor I was exactly the same this weekend in terms of sleeping! Managed to sleep last night for nearly 10 hours though so feeling much better now. Still would rather be in bed than at work though 😂

NotThatKindOfDoctor · 01/02/2021 14:41

I’m so impressed that you’re still getting into work and getting shit done @Squellyolwelly, so much kudos being sent your way. I’m about as effective as a chocolate tea pot at the moment 🤦🏻‍♀️😂.

I’ve only 2 weeks until the project I’m working on is finished though and then I’ll have 2 weeks of the kids being on half term before the baby arrives, so I’ll be well and truly knackered by that time 😂.

After having a couple of weeks of feeling like the GD had taken over my entire pregnancy, I’m starting to feel excited again 🥳

KB13 · 01/02/2021 14:49

Sleeping doesn’t happen for me anymore, my little man has set up camp under my ribs on the right side and it just hurts all the time :( so ready for this baby to come now 😬

Squellyolwelly · 01/02/2021 18:20

@NotThatKindOfDoctor tbf I have been incredibly lucky and not really had any symptoms the whole way through, apart from 6 weeks of barely sleeping in first trimester. I’m getting a few pains in my leg/hip joint if I walk too far and he likes to push his bum into my ribs which causes some back pain but those things aren’t constant, they pass with rest and when he moves. 3 weeks left of work though and then annual leave until maternity starts! I’ll be finishing about 35 weeks. Glad you’re feeling more excited again though!

MForMed · 01/02/2021 18:55

@KB13 I keep hearing "good advice" to sleep as much as possible before the delivery Angry
Well, my little guy has been training me for those sleepless nights for months now!

I'm currently at the stage of "GET.THIS.BABY.OUT!!" Wink. Some 4 weeks to go...

KB13 · 01/02/2021 20:02

@MForMed I think my husband is at the same stage because he’s had enough of me moaning about how uncomfortable I am 😆 I think the only place I could comfortably sleep for the night would be the bath, but that wouldn’t be the best of ideas haha

MForMed · 02/02/2021 13:02

@KB13 I hear you Grin
My DH has been sleeping on the sofa, sick and tired of being woken up every 90 minutes! I wish I could spend the next few weeks in the shower, warm water seems to be the only thing that reduces pain and discomfort a bit!

KB13 · 03/02/2021 10:27

I have woken up today feeling absolutely terrible pants. SPD has kicked back in now I haven’t been able to see the physio since before Christmas, getting out of bed is so painful. My bladder hurts, but I had my midwife appointment yesterday and all was good with my urine sample. Stomach and backache and really nauseous. I would not be unhappy if he arrived now 😭

Mahdia · 03/02/2021 10:49

@KB13 ditto exactly what I'm feeling now
Currently 35 weeks today and with my midwife appointment yesterday they found ++ ketones in my urine sample. She said because I did not drinking or eating enough that morning it may be the reason but I was quite scared of what it could mean. I have very bad gas and if I try to pick up something from the floor or bend down I bring up bitter liquid (sorry too much info) Grin

Has anyone had ketones or know someone who had it ? Thanks guys

All the best xx

Jonesy86 · 03/02/2021 10:52

Hi everyone.
Just wanted to to ask I'm 32 weeks pregnant and every morning for last few days I wake up and need be sick. It's only water but I thought morning sickness was first trimester!! It's only in the morning. Has anyone else had a return of sickness this far along? Xx

MForMed · 03/02/2021 12:59

Hi ladies,
I've just got my date for ELCS - 24 Feb. TIme to start panicking!!!

@Jonesy86 I was meant to ask here as well - I've not been vomitting but the nausea is back, and also though that was only 1st trimester. I read that it's because the baby is pushing on the stomach and it's recommended to eat very small meals frequently. I'm back on almonds, which used to help me with nausea.

@KB13 and @Mahdia I'm so sorry to hear you're suffering Sad. Were you given a link to a Vimeo instruction video by your physio with information how to prop yourselves with pillows and change position?

NotThatKindOfDoctor · 03/02/2021 13:45

@Mahdia - keytones are usually (although I assume, not always) caused by a no carb diet. A state of prolonged ketosis can be a worry, but if it’s very short period of time, I’m sure it’s nothing to stress about. If your midwife isn’t concerned, I’d try not to worry, although I’d definitely ask someone for extra info if you are feeling stressed.

I get my date tomorrow @MForMed, and hopefully a little reassurance from the consultant about how things will pan out in a pandemic!

Sorry to hear so many are having a rough time. I’m definitely having some much tougher days now. Have given up the running completely and if I managed a long, normal paced walk now I think it would be a miracle.

Mahdia · 03/02/2021 14:49

@Jonesy86 I had bit of sickness but I think its more to do with gastric or baby bring right up my ribs (hard to do shoe laces)Confused
@NotThatKindOfDoctor yeah she did mention its low carb diet but reassured her that I'm no no diet!!! But can't eat much and dread it cos I hate the vomiting bit.
@MForMed for my pelvic girdle pain I was given some exercise routines to follow DAILY but cos the kids are at home I just remember to do it twice a week if I'm lucky 😄 .

Has anyone been walking now that the ball 8s rolling... midwife couldn't stress the importance of walking Daily she encouraged 1-3miles a day. That sounds a lot. But will try at least 20 minutes a day! Smile

Hope the rest of your day goes smoothly.

TheFoz · 03/02/2021 19:20

34 + 5 today and I had to laugh at myself this morning. Our postman comes very early in the morning, this morning I heard the doorbell at 7am and I literally jumped up out of the bed and up the hallway. (We have a letterbox but he leaves packages at the door). Every other morning I’m heaving myself out of the bed, huffing and puffing as I go 😆😆

dinosaur17 · 03/02/2021 19:50

Hi all,
Mind if I jump on? Currently 34+3, due 14th March with DC3.
Expecting a boy, and with a sense of direction like his father, he’s breech 😂
Hope everyone is getting as much rest as possible these last few weeks! X

NotThatKindOfDoctor · 04/02/2021 13:09

Got the date for my CS today! 3rd of March at 8am, I’ll be first in (probably because it’s my 4th CS). We go into the hospital the night before (which I’ve never had before!) and will be home by the 8th at the latest (will try to get out a bit earlier if everything goes smoothly). The surgeon was so incredibly lovely and reassuring that I feel so much better. I’ve been feeling pretty anxious about it recently, so it has been a good morning!

Mahdia · 04/02/2021 22:04

@NotThatKindOfDoctor I'm so happy for you! Smile
Hope it goes smoothly not long to go now less than a month now! Halo
How is everyone doing ☺ hope this lockdown ends...miss my relatives and friends!!!Blush
I hope everyone's family and friends are all well. I've had a distant aunt who was very close to us die last week 😪 such sad times for some. Hope this'll be over soon.

Take care guys!!! 🙂

MForMed · 05/02/2021 09:57

@NotThatKindOfDoctor that's good news! I hope everything goes well with DC no 4!
Both antenatal and postnatal care seem to look very different depending on the country. My firend has recently given birth in Italy (CS) and she was also kept in the hospital for 3 days. I'm very curious about your experience of delivery in France. I'm kind of hoping for a short stay, just because of the Covid related visiting hours limits, but then worried whether I'll have a chance to learn how to look after the baby.

On another note, could anyone recommend a good baby instruction manual Wink for FTM?

KB13 · 08/02/2021 10:35

Anyone else had enough 😅 I’m 36+5 and I just wish I could fast forward time. I’m now on Raspberry leaf tea, trying clary sage in the bath, I keep planning on trying sex to move him along but by time the evening rolls around and the kids are finally in bed I just can’t be arsed 🙈 poor hubby! I’m really hoping he comes soon after 37 weeks but have to avoid this week as my eldest birthday is on Friday and she doesn’t like the idea of sharing her birthday. Got lots of period cramps today though so hopefully a good sign 🤞🏻

Mahdia · 08/02/2021 11:47

@KB13
I was just laughing 😆 to myself!! I think everyone is tirrreeeeedddd now. Just a waiting game now but I wanna wait until 38 weeks maybe to "naturally induce myself!!!" Kkkk
My kids are always late like two weeks and then I have to get induced. Let's hope this one is bit earlier!!!!Grin
We have snow in South East London since yesterday and kids are making snowman but I refused to join in!!! I'm freezing 🥶 already by looking outside 😩
