As the other thread was about to be full, I thought it made sense to make part 2!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Any of you woke up and all of a sudden got a big bulge sticking out? Lol
Overnight my bump has got bigger, or must be bloated, feel so uncomfortable, tummy feels so stretched and hurts, got back pain with it too 😣
Was craving jacket patatos earlier, made them, sat down to enjoy them and half way thru felt so bloated couldn't breathe, everything just feels so compressed.

pampero · 28/11/2020 22:56

@Safxxx I wouldn't say I've woken up feeling like that but do sometimes feel quite stretched come the end of the day after dinner. Noticed I'm back to getting full /bloated more quickly again...Guess it must be everything getting a bit more squished inside?

Safxxx · 28/11/2020 23:35

@pampero usually my bump is low down, tday it's higher up,maybe it's the position of the baby making my bump stick out more then usual....defo all squished inside feeling. Xxx

IamC · 29/11/2020 03:45

Back to the wide awake club.

I noticed today that I can feel my ribs, something I've not been able to do in a while as I was overweight, which is odd. My husband is convinced they've also moved, which explains the horrid pain that's keeping me awake.

wannabe123 · 29/11/2020 07:44

I woke up the other day and it felt like he'd squashed himself up between my ribs and hips which wasn't fun! My bump definitely changes based on where he is.

Stef92 · 29/11/2020 08:35

I was awake early as he decided 5.30 was a good time to begin kicking. I think he's got himself into a routine as my husband is awake at that time for work during the week. Shattered now

Muriel84 · 29/11/2020 09:12

I don’t know what it is about Saturday night but my baby was frantically moving between midnight-1am again. Having a little solo party in there. Settled but still quite wriggly during the night. Those kicks where it gets its foot so far round my right side I have to prod the foot back. Fast asleep now it seems! My bump has always been really low. X x x

Safxxx · 29/11/2020 09:42

I guess it was the position of the baby that it was bulging out yesterday....tday he's moved low and lying across again.
Night time when I'm settled he don't move, as soon as I turn over in the night, he wakes up and starts wriggling, it's funny last night I woke up as usual feeling hot, I very carefully and slowly tried turning over as not to disturb him...but guess what? Didn't work lol 😂😂

babydust2412 · 29/11/2020 18:02

Starting to pack my hospital bag slowly 😬😅 all becoming so real now, very nervous for labour 😂 xx

Stef92 · 29/11/2020 18:37

@babydust2412 I haven't even thought of my bag yet, I'm back end of Feb so only have my 28 week appointment this week and then anti d jab on Friday. What sort of things are you thinking of putting in?

pampero · 29/11/2020 19:28

@babydust2412 the idea of labour is definitely all becoming more real now! This little person has to find a way out 🤣 I've read suggestions for hospital bags but not yet thought about it too much

Char41zam · 29/11/2020 20:09

I picked up breast pads and maternity pads yesterday, starting to feel very real now! I am very nervous indeed 😕

Safxxx · 29/11/2020 20:50

I've bought all essentials, Hopefuly by the end of December will pack my hospital bag.
As my last one came 1 month early I'm not taking any chances lol

babydust2412 · 29/11/2020 21:35

@Stef92 I'm putting in more than I'll need just in case, never know especially with covid I'm not sure if my partner will be able to come give me bits if I need them xx
So I've got 0-3 sleepsuits and bodysuits as well as newborn, and newborn and tiny baby nappies just in case xx comfy clothes and pjs as well as a nightie for me, all the travel toiletries , etc xx
One tip I have, travel minis are so expensive for some reason even though they are tiny, so I went to Primark a while back and bought a pack of travel containers you can fill yourself for shampoo shower gel all those things and you can then fill them with things from home, so that's worked out so much cheaper xx

Char41zam · 29/11/2020 21:54

@babydust2412 that’s what I do much cheaper and you can use the products you normally use anyway, does anyone have anxiety about being in hospital with everything that’s going on? I already feel I just want home and I’m not even there yet!

Muriel84 · 29/11/2020 22:02

Eek hospital bags?! Scarily real. I have made a list but we might have to move house in January so might have some bigger packing to do! We’re waiting to move into a flat we’ve bought. I’m not sure what’s worse moving heavily pregnant or with a newborn... x x x

Safxxx · 29/11/2020 23:31

@Char41zam yes I'm abit worried about hospital with everything going on...but Hopefuly everything goes well for all of us Xx
@Muriel84 what a timing to move into your flat, but Hopefuly your settled there before the baby comes. Xx

@babydust2412 Many hospital don't provide formula milk any more...another thing to pack, but closer to time...i might take the ready made bottles rather then the powder form...as they only drink a ounce or less...so should last.
I've chosen Aptamil formula as I used it for my other 2. For my eldest I used cow & gate, but she used to get lots of tummy problems with it. Xx

A tip for you ladies, buy some disposable briefs...as bleeding can be heavy even with a maternity pad on, it can leak. So saves on the washing.
This month has gone so quick, can't believe it will be December after a day 🙄

babydust2412 · 30/11/2020 00:05

@Safxxx yes forgot to mention that! I've packed some always discreets, and pads in case I don't get on with them, or in case I run out 😂 xx
I'm going to buy some premade formula closer to the time definitely, Thankyou for reminding me xx

Muriel84 · 30/11/2020 07:30

@Safxxx thank you! I feel we’ve done our best and we have to wait and see now. Everything is moving quite slowly with the solicitor and Christmas will slow things down again.

I’m struggling with pants in general. The ones I bought two sizes too big cut in now. Might get some cheap massive pants in primark when they reopen. The one nearish me is going to be 24 hours 😱

I was wondering about going for tena ladies rather than pads... They leak less apparently... can’t wait.

@Char41zam my aim is to spend as little time as possible in the hospital. I hate hospitals even in normal situations and I work in them! I hope to give birth on an independent midwife unit but we shall see. X x x

jbx10 · 30/11/2020 07:55

Hi ladies, would you mind if I joined on your thread? I drifted off an earlier thread a few months ago but over this past few days reality has been sinking in & reading your thread has been so comforting! I hope you don't mind

A little bit about me, I'm 27 my DH is 30. We are expecting our first baby, a little girl

IamC · 30/11/2020 08:42

@jbx10 holding baby is a tough one. Depends on who and how careful they've been.

My brothers have apparently ignored all the rules this lockdown, going over to friends houses / seeing girlfriends which angers me as they currently live with my mum, and our 80 year old Nana is bubbled with them and I feel like they are putting her at risk for the sake of having a social life.

My mum is really excited to become a grandparent and I feel like with my brothers behaviour it's going to be difficult to allow her the usual experiences in covid times.

We've already decided to have Christmas alone on this basis.

jbx10 · 30/11/2020 08:49

@IamC it really is tough and it hasn't actually crossed my mind until now. Yep I completely understand if they're not following the rules, keeping up a social life it is just sad for your mum that that may mean she can't visit / hold her grandchild.

I think we may have to say no to holding her & then seeing what the rules are in terms of visiting where we can keep social distancing. It's just making me so sad to think close family may not be able to meet & hold her for a while xxx

Muriel84 · 30/11/2020 09:28

Yeah I agree I think it depends who it is and now seriously they’re taking things. My parents are both retired and live in the middle of nowhere. They plan to shield around my due date so they can come and help us. First grandchild and we’re very close. Hopefully things will start to look more positive by February/March if they are able to vaccinate and we’re coming out the winter months... but yeah I don’t think Christmas is going to help things, so January might be tough. X x x

babydust2412 · 30/11/2020 09:56

@jbx10 welcome to the thread! Aww a baby girl how lovely 💕💕
I'm planning on letting my family hold baby as we've all been extra careful the entire time and luckily as I'm young I still live with my parents and sister so they will all be fine to hold him as soon as he's home xx
But I won't be letting friends hold him until covid gets better, they can meet him from a social distancing stand point ☹️ xx

Safxxx · 30/11/2020 09:57

@jbx10 hi congrats, your due date is a day after mine 😊 hope all goes well.
I will let immediate family meet baby, not gonna deprive the grandparents off this beautiful experience. It's hard as it is keeping distant, and not meeting them regularly, they feel isolated as it Is, a baby will bring them joy I'm sure.
The others are my brothers and sister, they don't visit that often as it Is, so once they see baby, they won't show up again in a while lol so it's fine. Xx
