As the other thread was about to be full, I thought it made sense to make part 2!

@Safxxx everything is fine. I just might need to play god a bit to ensure I don't have to withdraw from my studies and lose all my funding. Basically if baby arrives in the end of January I can fulfil both requirements of having 6 weeks off and only missing 4 weeks of theory due to placements, reading weeks etc. As uni is online now I do t really see why I need to. Stop unless I struggle to keep up. For what it's worth, I'm a mature student and this is my 2nd baby.

Muriel84 · 25/11/2020 19:12

I thought they’re might be more privacy with a pool birth because of the water covering stuff? 🤔not that I’m really too bothered. Other than my awful piles 😳😳😳

@DaffodilsAndDandelions are you only taking 6 weeks off? What are you studying? X x x

DaffodilsAndDandelions · 25/11/2020 19:34

@Muriel84 I would love to be able to afford to take more time but it's not possible to rejoin my course later on. If I interrupt my studies then all my funding and childcare grant will stop so I'd have to go back to work as a SE gardener. I am studying occupational therapy.

Safxxx · 25/11/2020 20:12

@DaffodilsAndDandelions Ah ok...wishing you all the best hope everything works out for you. Xxx

Safxxx · 25/11/2020 20:14

@Muriel84 it will be clear water...not a bubble bath 🤣🤣🤣

babydust2412 · 25/11/2020 20:29

@Muriel84 water is clear, I don't know if they'd let you have bubbles to cover things up haha 😂 xx

babydust2412 · 25/11/2020 20:30

@DaffodilsAndDandelions good luck with everything! Occupational therapy sounds great! I'm studying forensic psychology in my first year with the open university and the struggle of balancing work and baby is definitely worrying me a little xx

Muriel84 · 25/11/2020 20:37

@Safxxx @babydust2412 😂 thanks ladies. I’ll cross my lush bath bombs off my hospital bag list...

@DaffodilsAndDandelions I’m sorry that they’re not more supportive of you taking time off... is it your final year? X x x

DaffodilsAndDandelions · 25/11/2020 21:02

No, it's my first year. They are happy to rearrange my placements but say that I can't miss more than four weeks of theory without having to miss the rest of the year amd join again next February.
On the one hand, a year off would be lovely but on the other hand if my funding gets stopped then I'll have to work anyway to pay the rent.

IamC · 26/11/2020 07:48

Something miraculous happened last night - I slept through without having to pee in the night! That's not happened since June!

Not sure if that's a worrying thing or not, but had a great nights sleep.

DaffodilsAndDandelions · 26/11/2020 08:57

Congratulations @IamC ! Theses things are rare now. Can't remember the last time I didn't get up in the night either for a wee or really thirsty

Safxxx · 26/11/2020 09:19

@IamC a miracle indeed 💯

babydust2412 · 26/11/2020 14:45

@Muriel84 ahaha that's great 😂 would be lovely if they were allowed though, a sparkly colourful birth 😂
@IamC wow I'm envious haha xx that's really good I bet you feel so good today x

OnNaturesCourse · 26/11/2020 21:44

Hi everyone.

Just sat here (in the well loved bath lol) catching up with you all... 😂

Throwing it back a little as I am so far behind but yes! The pelvic pressure is unbelievable, I don't remember this with my first and I've been doing my pelvic floor excerises regularly so it has been a bit of a shock. I'm always telling DP I feel like baby is about to just drop out! The front of my pelvic bone is starting to get sore at the end of the day too, feels bruised and tender (but isn't!)

Re water births... I was so desperate for one of these with my first but because I was induced I wasn't allowed one 😭 I spent 90% of the 3rd trimester in that pregnancy in the warm bath thanks to SPD so I was gutted to not labour in one. Plus because I was induced, and it took 3 days, I couldn't even use the bath as early labour pain management at home. I am hoping for a water birth this time round but I've been warned it all depends on if a birth pool is available at the time... Plus I'm a possibility for c section this time round so it all depends really.

Re the weight gain I've gained half a stone exactly, most in the past 5 weeks I'd say. I'm 29 weeks now and hoping to only gain 1lb maximum a week but what will be will be I guess. My bump feels absolutely massive but baby boy regularly tucks himself up in my ribs and my bump "hides" which is so uncomfy!

Has anyone had a bout of thrush in pregnancy? I did with my first and used the internal and external creams however I have purchased these again and the leaflet says consult your GP before use in pregnancy?? Has something changed, because I'm pretty sure it was my GP that gave me the creams last time plus online information says safe for use in pregnancy. I know oral medication isn't tho.

How is everyone finding their energy levels? Mine have been terrible! I slept 11pm to 11am the other day the come 8pm I was ready for bed again. No amount of sleep seems to keep me going the full day without some level of exhaustion kicking in. I haven't been too active lately as I've been stuck in the house most of the time with a ill toddler so I guess missing some outdoor exercise won't be helping.

Not long to go now! Who has the earliest due date?

Safxxx · 26/11/2020 23:25

@OnNaturesCourse a natural remedy for thrush would be natural yogurt...eat it for a few days....and I know this sounds gross but ages ago I heard applying yogurt down below eases off symptoms too.
I've had thrush once only, and I tried this remedy it worked....but other then that I'm not aware of over the counter stuff for it.
Hope you get your wish of water birth, I guess we could plan it but it all depends on how things go, as it's unpredictable. Xxx

OnNaturesCourse · 27/11/2020 00:00

Natural yoghurt has worked wonders "down there" just to soothe it until my creams arrived today but its a horrible feeling and never feels hygienic doing it lol.

I eat natural yoghurt every day anyway so clearly it's not doing its job 😂

babydust2412 · 27/11/2020 16:24

Does anyone else's bubs get hiccups all the time? 😂💙 xx

Muriel84 · 27/11/2020 19:49

@babydust2412 all the time! I cannot believe how often it gets hiccups! I wonder if they’ll continue when it’s out?! X x x

Safxxx · 27/11/2020 19:56

@OnNaturesCourse yes feels horrible, I used to apply a generous amount on toilet paper and leave it there for a couple of hours, and used a pad too, so didn't get messy 🙄

Safxxx · 27/11/2020 20:01

@Char41zam how's things going?

Char41zam · 27/11/2020 22:53

Yeah everything is going good thanks @Safxxx how are you keeping? 29 weeks tomorrow!! Can’t believe it, I am having the horrible lightening shooting pains this week down there feels awful! Like pressure and my bladder doesn’t enjoy it lol I have the hospital next week for another growth scan but she has grown a lot! I can feel her bum up under my ribs and I felt her foot last night! How’s your bump coming along? X

Safxxx · 27/11/2020 23:31

@Char41zam I'll be 28wks in 2 days, time sure is flying, good to know your little one is doing well. Yes I've been getting that pain & pressure down there too, and last few days my breast bones and ribs are hurting too. My little one mostly lies across my tummy, and stays low down or in the middle. Xxx

OnNaturesCourse · 27/11/2020 23:52

@babydust2412

Does anyone else's bubs get hiccups all the time? 😂💙 xx
I often wonder if mine has hiccups, but I don't really know what it would feel like.

I get a super amount of rolls and kicks and punches tho. Best thing is when my DC sings to bump and he really kicks up a storm ❤️

babydust2412 · 28/11/2020 11:07

@Muriel84 me too, I wonder if we will have hiccupy babies xx
@OnNaturesCourse It feels like really rhythmic pulses, like vibrations that are really rhythmic every few seconds xx

pampero · 28/11/2020 12:29

Think I might have had my first hiccups episode last night, very ryhtmic! Lovely and reassuring when you do feel them wriggling away 😊
