As the other thread was about to be full, I thought it made sense to make part 2!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

@Newmumfeb2021 sorry I didn't mean to panic you, they can stay with you during labour over night but not after you've given birth IYSWIM? (I blame baby brain and lack of sleep if I was confusing!) To be honest, the dad is a spare part at that point anyway, I wished my DH went home last time as all I wanted to do was sleep and he was snoring next to me on the hospital chair!

Safxxx · 12/01/2021 13:52

@OnNaturesCourse try steaming to help with stuffed nose. Xx
@babydust2412 lets see where all this is heading, get plenty of rest and use a hot water bottle for cramps. And drink plenty. Xx

Newmumfeb2021 · 12/01/2021 14:32

@babbit87 haha. no not panicky, just anxious as to what to expect. But since all of us are in the same boat, it gives me a bit of sense of calm - "everyone is doing this, I can do it too"

@jbx10 I am FTM as well, and I have read not everyone gets BH. so maybe you are lucky :) I have tightenings (rock hard for a few seconds) in my upper belly now and then - they are uncomfortable, but not painful.

@OnNaturesCourse so sorry you feel this way. Try having turmeric milk (if you are not lactose intolerant) or try having whole or ground black pepper in some way (it soothes the throat and the nose and good for sinus)- natural remedies :)

babydust2412 · 12/01/2021 15:49

Midwife rang me and said all sounds normal, his head is likely rubbing on the cervix helping it to soften for when things need to start moving along and that’s what’s causing period like cramps and the braxton hicks being so frequent is very normal now I’m basically full term xx
So she said look out for when the tightenings seem to become more regular and stronger and that’s when early labour will be a possibility, so just a waiting game now seeing when he will make an appearance x

Muriel84 · 12/01/2021 16:14

@OnNaturesCourse thank you so much for doing that list! Lovely to see.

@babydust2412 I’m getting very excited for you!

I’ve had some pain around the front of my pubic bone today. I’m guessing where it’s separating? I wonder if it’s bum is engaging. Belly felt v tight in bed last night. Babs had a quiet night so I didn’t sleep well worrying.

I’m counting down the minutes until my scan Thursday. Just want to know roughly what we should be planning for 🙈

V much appreciating stories of people’s previous births! It’s good to know what things to look out for! X x x

Newmumfeb2021 · 12/01/2021 17:38

@babydust2412 exciting times! :) hope you're ready with hospital bag anytime xx

OnNaturesCourse · 12/01/2021 18:22

We will keep the list going and add birth dates as they happen!

Bets on who will go first / early or late lol.

How you doing @babydust2412 ?

My cramps aren't back but I have a deep ache going on where you'd get period pain, and terrible gas 😳 absolutely shattered with no reason to be, and cant face food unless it's small snacks. I'm hungry but a few bites and I'm uncomfortably full 🥴

IamC · 12/01/2021 18:27

@OnNaturesCourse do you think gas is a symptom? I've been offending myself with the same this last couple of days 😂 I've never been so gassy in all my life.

OnNaturesCourse · 12/01/2021 18:38

@IamC I have no idea but I've been quite bad for a few days now, little no control over it either 😳

Baby just started with hiccups, and the feeling is just above my pelvic bone. I can feel it almost rattling my bone which is a really odd feeling.

babydust2412 · 12/01/2021 18:57

@Muriel84 me too very excited but nervous xx
@Newmumfeb2021 yes hospital bag all ready luckily! Xx

babydust2412 · 12/01/2021 18:58

@OnNaturesCourse I'm doing ok, still getting quite a lot of tightenings and cramping but nothing regular xx

Muriel84 · 12/01/2021 19:04

@OnNaturesCourse I’ve had terrible gas throughout. I constantly check there’s no one behind me when I’m out walking cos I just can’t hold it! I have been on laxatives for months already tho... I cannot wait to have my last sachet of movicol.

I have crampy lower abdo discomfort this eve like a period pain. Just had an amazing nap tho. Wish I slept that well at night! X x

wannabe123 · 12/01/2021 19:17

@OnNaturesCourse thanks for doing the list! Forgot to say that I am having a boy!

I had my 34 week midwife appointment today and she thinks baby is head down but not engaged yet. At my growth scans, baby has always been breech so hopefully he is head down and stays head down!

Safxxx · 12/01/2021 19:17

Bloatedness/Gassy feeling is also normal as other organs are all squashed up.
Take some indegestion remedies, they take off the edge, Gaviscon or any brand Liquid or tabs.
Also Mint/peppermint tea is good.

Char41zam · 12/01/2021 21:08

Terrible cramps today ladies, pressure in my bits and back plus a lot of bowel movement I reckon that things are getting ready, I only have 3 and a bit weeks so hopefully she will stay put till then x

OnNaturesCourse · 12/01/2021 21:44

I also had a great nap today, but now fear I'll definitely not sleep tonight!

Did wake up completely choked again though and my hips were killing me from sleeping on the sofa BUT my cramps seem to have eased off plus the little boy has moved his head off the edge of my pelvic bone (or whatever limp it was..)

Think I'm at that stage now where I am just DONE being pregnant.

Char41zam · 12/01/2021 22:09

Same @OnNaturesCourse I am getting sore and grumpy now

jbx10 · 13/01/2021 08:20

Had the best night sleep I've had in weeks last night only woke up once for a wee and slept until now. Couldn't believe it when I checked my alarm. Definitely think it was a lucky one off 😂 but feel so much better for it this morning!!

had a birthing ball delivered last night. Has anyone else used one before? Did you find it helped? I did use it a little last night and could definitely feel more pressure as I used it. Seemed to help with some of my pelvic pain too xx

wannabe123 · 13/01/2021 09:02

@jbx10 I got a birthing ball for Christmas and I love it! I find it really helps when I get restless legs too.

OnNaturesCourse · 13/01/2021 09:47

@jbx10 I have been using one since about 25 weeks. Having used one all throughout my first pregnancy and labour I knew I needed it this time lol. Seemed to work a lot better with my first, this time round I'm not finding it as comfy but it does help get baby out my ribs.

You must have stolen my sleep - I got absolutely none last night.. between loo breaks, hip pain, thirst, pelvic pressure and general discomfort I didn't get a wink. Currently waiting on GP phoning me back as I suspect I have a bladder infection. Dipped it last night and have white cells 😭

jbx10 · 13/01/2021 10:42

@OnNaturesCourse I wish I'd have thought of it sooner!! My baby has been head down for a while now and quite low according to the scans but it's feels as though she's moved over the passed couple of days so now I'm thinking she may have turned round - typical!! But yes I'm loving it for the pelvic pain and find it really comfy to sit on to watch TV too rather than having to climb back up from the sofa 😂

Oh no! What a nightmare. I felt very lucky to get a good night sleep last night defo not taking it for granted!! Hope you hear back from GP soon so you can get something to treat it I know they can be awfully uncomfortable xx

BatmanBaby · 13/01/2021 12:08

Just found out that I can't use the midwife lef birthing unit (that is next door to the labour ward) due to a PPH last time :( feeling really down about it.

OP posts:
Safxxx · 13/01/2021 13:26

@BatmanBaby so sorry, sometimes things just don't go to our plans...don't feel disheartened, stay positive and hopefuly things go well where ever you have the baby Xxx

Safxxx · 13/01/2021 13:28

I've been having reduced movements since last night....so i'm at the Assesment unit waiting for check up. Will update you guys afterwards.

Char41zam · 13/01/2021 13:46

Hope all is ok @Safxxx, I had a very quiet day yesterday and she is active today so hopefully baby just having a quiet day xx
