As the other thread was about to be full, I thought it made sense to make part 2!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I’m due on 21/2 with a surprise, honestly so impatient, I’m hoping baby comes somewhere between 38 weeks and just before due date but as it’s the first I think baby might be late!

babydust2412 · 07/01/2021 16:59

@Muriel84 She felt for his position and his head is right down in my pelvis engaging, and I've had lots of braxton hicks and cramping recently, so she told him "wait until 37 weeks at least and then you can come out and play" which was very cute 😂 xx

IamC · 07/01/2021 18:43

I finish up for mat leave a week tomorrow.

Strange feeling really....excited to start the new journey into motherhood, but I love my job and I'm gonna miss everyone so much!

Big changes ahead 😬

Muriel84 · 07/01/2021 22:10

@babydust2412 aww v cute! I had a lot of braxton hicks and cramping yesterday along with lower back pain but seems to have settled today. X x

jbx10 · 07/01/2021 22:46

@Muriel84 glad that you've had an update with your house! I'm sure everything will work out for you. If she does come early then at least you will have had a few weeks before you have to move! Xxx

babydust2412 · 07/01/2021 23:16

@Muriel84 it's so uncomfy isn't it 😩 xx glad it's settled for you today

Muriel84 · 08/01/2021 08:25

@babydust2412 @jbx10 thanks guys. I’m in a mega grump this morning. Second night in a row with barely any sleep. Side sleeping is making my hips excruciating again and there’s just no room for the baby. I had cramp in my left calf, pain in my vagina (?!), back feels sore. 😭 not to mention blocked nose, insatiable thirst and three trips to the loo. 😭😭 moan moan.

jbx10 · 08/01/2021 08:39

@Muriel84 moan away!! We feel your pain. Are you able to get some sleep through the day at all? Baby Must be getting him/herself ready to meet you!

My hips have also started to hurt during the night 😭 had to sit up to go to sleep last night. Xxx

babydust2412 · 08/01/2021 09:33

@Muriel84 moan all you like it's what we are here for, we all understand 😊 the pain down below is something I've been having too, it's like bad pressure when I move or get up or anything it's so uncomfortable 😩 bless you not having any sleep, maybe try napping during the day when you can x

OnNaturesCourse · 08/01/2021 12:04

It's OK @muriel84 I'm having a moan day today.

Had my midwife appointment today, saw another midwife (never seen the same one more than once this pregnancy!) and now that I've come away I think she's missed my anti D jag again... Do you get another one? Had one at 31 weeks (should have been 28 but again, they forgot)

My blood pressure was 142/70-something 😭 but my home reading this morning was 112/77. Midwife was quite stand offish about me taking it at home although all the others haven't minded at all. I've to provide a urine sample and hand it in to reception later today.

I asked what would happen if it showed protein etc and she just said we will see, and said "I've already sent one of you up to the hospital today for this."

Any ideas what will happen if I do have protein in my urine? Do you need a second anti D jag? I can't remember from my first but I think you do maybe...

Honestly the care in this pregnancy has been ridiculous.

Muriel84 · 08/01/2021 12:07

@jbx10 @babydust2412 thanks both. I will try and have a nap later. Meant to be working from home. I think I will be sleeping sat up tonight too...

My hospital have just sent out a message saying they’re stopping all visitors to postnatal ward... birth partners can continue to attend 36 week scan, induction and birth... fingers crossed I don’t have to stay in long. Also means I have to take everything with me. X x x

Muriel84 · 08/01/2021 12:30

@OnNaturesCourse sorry you had such a crap time with the MW. I had anti d at 28 weeks and I’m fairly sure that’s the last one until delivery? I’m 35+2 now.

If you BP is high and you have protein in your wee then you will need bloods to rule out pre-eclampsia. If you BP was fine at home I wouldn’t worry, it’s probably a bit of white coat hypertension. X x

IamC · 08/01/2021 12:45

@Muriel84 that's awful news about partners 😔

jbx10 · 08/01/2021 12:54

@OnNaturesCourse I can't believe you haven't been able to have a consistent MW. Sorry to hear the care you've been receiving hasn't been up to scratch. Is there somewhere you can complain? It's not good enough!

@Muriel84 that's a shame. Our hospital hasn't allowed visitors post natal for a while now and they're also not allowed to induction. Only once your in established labour. They were supposed to be looking at relaxing it slightly but doubt they will now. I just hope my OH can be with me in labour I'm just terrified he won't be allowed in!! Stressing me out even though trying to stay calm about it all. Xxx

babydust2412 · 08/01/2021 13:27

Had my 36 week scan so birth plan is done and baby's head is engaged right down in my pelvis so midwife says he's ok to come out anytime now... scary!! 😂🥺

Newmumfeb2021 · 08/01/2021 14:05

@Muriel84 I have been going through the same for a few days now. Too many visits to the loo, side hip pains and backache. My DH has been assigned job to massage my back every night, and he never fails. :)

On that note, I was told by my SIL, that getting foot massage, etc induces contractions, and I was advised by her to not use the massager so I haven't been using it since the start of my pregnancy. My MW said that's not true and I can have massage whenever and wherever I want. Just wanted to know popular opinion here.. :)

@OnNaturesCourse High5 on that.. I have never seen the same MW either. Its my first pregnancy and I am honestly in disbelief how unorganised they are... Its shocking!!

Safxxx · 08/01/2021 17:13

Been catching up with posts...
@OnNaturesCourse i'm due 21st Feb with 4th child.
So who's due the earliest? Xxx

Safxxx · 08/01/2021 17:21

Been feeling very uncomfortable lately don't know why feel like this baby won't wait till due date.
My youngest came a month early while other 2 were couple of days before due date.
I just don't have the energy in me to do day to day tasks....its a good thing kids are remote learning from home, so i get to rest up...had a little pampering day yesterday with lovely bubbly bath and dyed my hair, put on a face mask had a pedicure done by hubby and he gave me a lovely all over body massage 💜
But honestly although felt great i was left more drained, mainly due to aches/pains being breathless and generally feel alot of pressure down there although little one has not engaged....not getting much sleep either 😢

Safxxx · 08/01/2021 17:27

@babbit87 hi welcome 💜
This is my 4th baby, and yes i believe with each one was less labour.
1st 18hrs full term
2nd 6-7 hrs full term
3rd 5-6hrs premature 36wks
Lets see how this one goes, i've had a over 8yrs gap

Bambino87 · 09/01/2021 00:15

@OnNaturesCourse

I'm pretty sure it's just one while pregnant then depending on babies bloody type another after delivery! Xxx
Muriel84 · 09/01/2021 09:02

@jbx10 gosh I thought all hospitals had let the birth partner visit postnates. It’s really tough. Just have to hope not in long. And also pack for every eventuality. NHS website says to pack pillows and towels. No bloody way am I doing that. Without partner there how am I going to carry everything as it is?! I don’t know where to begin.

@Bambino87 yes that’s what I thought about anti d. They’ve tested my baby’s blood group and know it’s rhesus positive so one more jab at delivery. That was a big injection!

@Safxxx glad you’re being well looked after! Sorry to hear you’re so uncomfortable tho. I don’t think my baby’s making any plans for escaping any time soon.

@Newmumfeb2021 I’ve heard of a Chinese superstition that you shouldn’t touch a pregnant woman’s feet! But never heard anyone say that in this country! God I love a foot rub.

wannabe123 · 09/01/2021 09:44

I've heard that in reflexology there is a part of your foot by the ankle, I think, that can be linked to the womb/uterus and some reflexologist will totally avoid the area in early pregnancy.

Safxxx · 09/01/2021 11:21

@Muriel84 i started on my hospital bag yesterday, will finish it off tday...do make a start of yours as your due early Feb so be prepared... i have always packed a towel for baby and for myself....but always ended up using theres lol
Many women do take their own pillows for comfort but i guess its always been a choice not a necessity..can't believe they're asking to take in them items.
I will be taking medium 1 trolley suitcase and the babies changing bag which i sorted yesterday, small pack nappies, wipes, nappy sacks, cotton wool, ready made formula milk, i washed and sterilised 2 bottles and 2 soothers and will add that in too. Rest is in suitcase. Xxx

jbx10 · 09/01/2021 12:06

@Muriel84 I know it is tough it's been giving me anxiety my OH not being with me in labour. I've come to terms with the visiting now as long as he can be with me through labour & birth! And like you say just have to hope not kept in hospital long after.

I have packed my own towels/flannels but not going to take a pillow.

@Safxxx sorry to hear you've been feeling so uncomfortable & fatigued but glad you managed to have some pamper time and that your being well looked after. Final stretch now won't be too much longer 😊 your so organised too! I'm going to make a start on babies bag today hopefully get that finished this weekend xxx

Safxxx · 09/01/2021 16:28

@jbx10 well i've had everything i needed just did'nt have the energy to pack it, last few days as i'm getting more uncomfortable i was panicking about the hospital bag lol.
Glad its sorted thats another thing out the way. Hopefully you get yours done too.
I really hope i have it full term as anytime sooner they will only keep me in which i don't want.
Hopefully your baby picks up weight, don't worry about it. I was told with both my boys they Will be small, one was 6lbs 9 and the one who was born at 36wks he was 5lbs 14oz..i'm sure if he had been born full term he would have been 6 something.
After that there was no stopping their growth lol, always been taller then average and good weight too. Xx
