As the other thread was about to be full, I thought it made sense to make part 2!

Happy new year ladies and bumps ❤️✨
Can't believe our bubs are due next month 🥰

Muriel84 · 01/01/2021 00:49

Yes happy new year everyone! Very excited to think 2021 is the year I’ll meet my little one! 🥰 x x x

pampero · 01/01/2021 04:02

Happy new year all! Not long now 🥰

wannabe123 · 01/01/2021 07:59

Happy new year everyone! 🎉

Happy New Year Everyone ❤️

It would seem my little boy decided to have his own new year party and had my whole tummy shuddering from midnight until 5am. I am absolutely shattered today and feel hungover lol.

How is everyone?

I'm suffering with crazy swelling in my ankles, but not my feet oddly, and slight in my fingers. By the end of the day all I can do is sit in a salt bath, or lie with my feet right the way up. 6 weeks to go... Not that I'm counting lol

wannabe123 · 01/01/2021 11:21

The swelling doesn't sound fun @OnNaturesCourse. My little boy feels like he's using my ribs as a pillow! Definitely entering the uncomfortable stage of pregnancy!
I was meant to be going back to work for 3 weeks before starting maternity leave but I am now working from home instead due to covid. I am gutted to not be able to say my goodbyes to everybody but slightly relieved that I will be at home and sit on comfortable chairs!

Snorlax86 · 01/01/2021 12:13

Happy new year everyone!
I’m also suffering with SPD, still wishing the time away until Feb, so impatient waiting for the LO!
I hope you’re all well x

OnNaturesCourse · 01/01/2021 12:15

My sympathies to anyone with SPD. I had it with my first and it was horrible, crutches and 2 support belts barely helped. It's quite unheard of too I found so not a lot of support.

jbx10 · 01/01/2021 12:27

@OnNaturesCourse mine was the same this morning just as I went to bed she woke up kicking away. Even woke up my OH he could feel her 😂

Got up this morning to start cooking a new year dinner & getting a sharp pain in my pelvis area. Think little miss is getting ready to engage the pressure is getting more & more down there! Strange about your ankles but not feet! My fingers were swelling last week but ok again this week.

Not long to go now. I have 4 weeks left of work countdown is on! Xxx

OnNaturesCourse · 01/01/2021 14:27

Little party animals!

Yeh my feet are strange lol the tops are maybe a bit puffy and tender but my toes are fine. I'm just rocking the cankles look.

babydust2412 · 01/01/2021 17:29

My bub is definitely engaging, midwife had a feel of bump and said his head is right down in my pelvis, and I'm having quite a lot of braxton hicks and aches. So let's see if baby stays in until Feb 😂🤞🏼💙

jbx10 · 01/01/2021 18:06

@babydust2412 I'm thinking the same! Her head has been in my pelvis a couple of weeks and I think she's engaging, I'll be surprised if she's not a little early 🙈

Me an OH are starting to self isolate from Monday just in case xxx

Muriel84 · 01/01/2021 18:17

Has anyone got a tens machine? Wondering about buying one. I would hire as I don’t want the extra clutter but buying is the same price... obviously I’ll wait until I know if I’m going to have a section.

Jealous of those of you who’s babies are engaged! Fairly sure mine hasn’t turned yet. Might resort to hanging upside down off the sofa.

@Safxxx sorry to hear you’re struggling so much with spd. Sounds really miserable. Walking is the only thing keeping me sane. Hope you managed to have a restful and relaxing new year x x x

IamC · 01/01/2021 18:34

My little one is also engaged too, and the Braxton Hicks are very much here. Fun times. At least the rib pain is now relieved.

babydust2412 · 01/01/2021 18:57

@jbx10 I'm starting to stay home now too unless absolutely essential I go anywhere just in case xx
@IamC so lucky your rib pain is gone, my boys feet are right by my ribs most of the time and we are very sure he's internally bruised me in one certain spot from kicking there so hard so often 😩 xx

IamC · 01/01/2021 18:59

@babydust2412 hope you find some relief soon

Safxxx · 01/01/2021 19:14

@Muriel84 as i've been stuck home i've been resting up more...it ain't too bad as long as babies not pressing on it or i'm not on my feet too long or doing strenuous work....Hope you have had a good new years day, and don't worry about the head engaging, it will happen in due time, meanwhile enjoy the little topsy turvy in there. Xxx

OnNaturesCourse · 01/01/2021 22:10

All this talk of heads engaging has me exciting and thinking... I've no idea if this one is head down.

He was head down at 30 weeks but I'm pretty sure he flipped again, now I'm getting kicks and jabs all over the place but definitely stronger kicks under my ribs and more rubbing sensations around my lower tummy. I also have had 3 or 4 instances where I feel unbelievable pressure, its hard to describe but it's like being constipated but things are pushing to come out eventually 😳😳 but at the front end! It hurts my pelvic bone between my legs too.

Never had anything like this with my first, she was head down from 28 weeks but because of SPD I think all the signs and aches were masked.

Safxxx · 02/01/2021 00:26

@OnNaturesCourse that pressure you describe i'm sure its the baby pushing down on bladder, feels like heaviness around that area....seem's like me, your baby is pushing more at the front then the back....with my first 2 kids my pressure was all in the back even during labour, my last one was all at the front, so far this one is too. I sometimes get this sharp pains in the wee area and like a pushing/heavyness sensation, and at times feels very swollen. I get that when baby is lower down, when hes higher up its fine. Xx

OnNaturesCourse · 02/01/2021 00:33

Thankfully I've not had any swollen feeling there (about the only place in my body that doesn't feel swollen lol) but yeh I do get a sort "bag of water" being squashed feeling with the pressure so that would make sense.

My first was a back baby, back labour too, placenta was all to the front so I barely felt anything.

OnNaturesCourse · 02/01/2021 00:34

Conc.

Barely felt anything. It was all SPD and hip pain, then labour felt like my spine was being snapped. I wonder if this time round it will feel different.

IamC · 02/01/2021 12:09

How's everyone getting on with names?

We have a shortlist for both sexes, but we've not got any names we both love. I like his, he likes mine, but no one is ready to compromise yet 😂

We've just written them all down on post it notes and stuck them on the fridge so we can live with them for a bit.

jbx10 · 02/01/2021 13:22

@IamC we had pretty much decided on a girls name before I fell pregnant so when we found out she was a she it was quite easy! We've not really discussed it anymore. We would have struggled with boys names though!!

I've just finished making her a flower board for her room& ordered her name to go on it 😇

Great idea putting the names on the fridge to get used to them. Maybe once he/she arrives one will just jump out at you both xx

OnNaturesCourse · 02/01/2021 19:06

We had a girls name set in stone and I am gutted to not be using it...we can not for the life of us agree on a boys name. He has his middle names sorted, but no first name 🤣 poor baby will likely be nameless for the first few weeks until we see what suits him.

Char41zam · 02/01/2021 20:48

I only ever had a girls name sorted but I was pretty sure I was having a girl anyway, would have no idea for a boys name at all
