As the other thread was about to be full, I thought it made sense to make part 2!
@Safxxx thanks for advice. I’ve given up with the piles, have accepted they’ll be there till baby comes out. Have tried every cream/suppository going and nothings helped. Just on twice a day movicol to keep things soft. I’m sure it’s not helping the rank taste in my mouth!

@jbx10 that’s really handy having a friend who’s a mw pack you a hospital bag. I got some bits for Christmas for mine too like a button up night shirt. We’ve been given a nappy changing bag filled with essentials and all the stuff for bathing which is really handy.

My mum has washed an ironed all the baby things that aren’t new. I’m not washing new things cos I’m terrible at ironing and will likely ruin them all. Think I’m going to sort the clothes into sizes today and then pack them away. I hope we move before baby arrives.

I’m not sure if the baby is trying to turn or just beat me up. Been awake for a couple of hours. Between hip pain, baby kicking the crap out of me, blocked nose and heartburn bed just isn’t very comfortable. Hard to side sleep when it’s fighting the mattress. X x x
Amen to sleep (or lack of it part) - I'd say I can't wait until the baby is out so I can get a decent nights sleep, but we all know it'll be a new kind of sleep deprivation 😂

Safxxx · 29/12/2020 07:56

I've not been well last couple of days with mild cold symptoms, but since yesterday blocked nose, oh my days, as if it wasn't enough getting breathless and the feeling of suffocation at times, this blocked nose is driving me mad, and sneezing takes all my might (while clutching my stomach)
I hardly ever get ill (why oh why now) 😭

Also i thought it eased off, but last night baby went near pelvis and it was so painful, had to keep moving around and physically prod the baby to move from that area, which eventually he did and i got relief.
I'm dreading the time he engages down into position....been up most of the night, gonna go back to bed for a couple of hours now, so tired yet can't rest in peace 😢

Safxxx · 29/12/2020 08:03

Ps you guys noticed how small the baby clothes are made?
Back in the day the newborn size was equivalent to the 0-3mths
Now its equivalent to premature size.
I've bought both sizes, but the first size looks way too small, got a feeling i won't be able to use them.

babydust2412 · 29/12/2020 09:21

@Safxxx I thought this! The newborn things look so tiny, I have no idea if baby will be too big for them x

Char41zam · 29/12/2020 09:21

@Safxxx depends where I have got them from, Asda baby grows seem reasonable in size but other places seem small. I have been up most of the night too with terrible heartburn and anxiety which seems to be a regular thing most nights now 😕

Stef92 · 29/12/2020 09:48

@Safxxx I got some vests from next which are up to 1 month and they look tiny compared to the 0-3 months ones I have!

Muriel84 · 29/12/2020 11:17

Well glad to hear no ones sleeping and we’re all in this together! 😂

@Safxxx oh poor you that sounds so uncomfortable. I think I have pregnancy nose but our bedroom gets so cold at night it makes it so uncomfortable.

The baby seems to have most room to do whatever the hell it does 4am-6am if I’m on my back propped up, but then I worry about being on my back. 🙄

The newborn clothes do look really tiny. I have a very cute going home sleep suit from M&S my mum bought. I hope the baby isn’t too big to wear it home from the hospital.

How many nappies are people packing for the hospital? And how on earth is this fitting into one little suitcase?! My dressing gown fills it... x x x

Safxxx · 29/12/2020 11:36

@Muriel84 i will be taking the small nappy bag with me. I agree gowns take alot of space, i was thinking either leaving it behind or puting it in a separate bag, once there could just leave it out on chair.
Or i do have a thinner cotton one might switch, won't be warm but will have coverage. Mind you hospitals are warm. Xx

Stef92 · 29/12/2020 14:33

Just back from my appointment. He is head down like we suspected! I'm measuring 31cm instead of the expected 32cm - they said not to worry though. Anyone else a little bit behind?

sarahb083 · 29/12/2020 15:35

@Stef92 I've heard that the bump measurements aren't very accurate, they vary based on which midwife is doing them. So I wouldn't worry!

Char41zam · 29/12/2020 15:50

@Stef92 I am slightly smaller but nothing to worry about as I only have small babies anyway, she was 4lb last Thursday and still climbing up the centile so they said nothing to worry about

Safxxx · 29/12/2020 17:12

@Stef92 was'nt sure if my midwife measured me but just checked my notes...last week at my check up at 31+4 i measured 31.
3 wks before that was 27
I was told growth is fine, even though on the lower end but still within the normal chart. Xxx

jbx10 · 29/12/2020 18:00

@Stef92 I'm measuring small too having to go for weekly scans now but she's still growing in her own pattern so I'm not worried 😇

@Muriel84 I think I'm going to pack a thinner dressing gown so I can get everything in! I was going to pack a small pack of nappies, no idea how many I should be packing! I need to get her going home outfit will have a look on m&s I was going to pack a couple of different size outfits just in case

Banging headache today! May be due to the lack of sleep hoping I can get a good night sleep tonight if little miss doesn't throw herself a disco party in there at 3am 😂

OnNaturesCourse · 29/12/2020 22:54

I measured small with DC1 from 30 weeks onwards, was always about 3 weeks behind. They were convinced she was going to be tiny (I remember 5lbs being given as a guide) I had lots of scans and appointments. She arrived 2 weeks early at 7lb 4oz so definitely wasn't a "small" baby. She'd have been 8lb+ I think if I'd went to full term.

Scans and measurements can only estimate so much.

Currently I've been measuring bang on with my bump measurements, but in the last two weeks the weight I have put on is insane so I suspect I'll be measuring ahead come my January appointment.

jbx10 · 30/12/2020 05:26

@OnNaturesCourse that's exactly us I think we are measuring about 3 weeks behind and I've heard a few similar stories to yours so I'm not going to worry about it. Everything else is looking fine and even if she is a little small, all babies are different anyway!

Feels as though she's having a 5am disco in there this morning. Suppose it's starting to get me prepared for the lack of sleep when she gets here! Xx

babydust2412 · 30/12/2020 09:18

I'm having a pins and needles/ numb feeling on my skin at the top of my bump on one side, anyone else experienced this or know what it could be? It's such an annoying feeling and nothing will get rid of it 😂 xx

Muriel84 · 30/12/2020 09:45

@babydust2412 I have that but right in the middle! It seems to vary how bad it is I guess depending on the baby’s position. Sometimes I get an electric shock sharp stab there when I lean forward which is horrible. I guess the bump is pressing on a nerve.

@jbx10 I didn’t get my usual 4-6am disco this morning so worrying lots. Got a scan at midday. If I manage to get some ok sleep I feel punished by achy legs and baby not moving 🙄x x x

babydust2412 · 30/12/2020 14:47

@Muriel84 that's what I thought it could be too, something to do with the nerves xx mine is there constantly so it's getting on my nerves now 😂

babydust2412 · 30/12/2020 14:48

Also feeling huge now, really starting to feel the weight and pressure of the bump now 😩 and have started to get the dreaded braxton hicks 😂

pampero · 30/12/2020 15:27

@babydust2412 I think a neighbours daughter had the weird numb feeling you mention in one specific spot, dont think they ever found out the real reason for it! She did say how odd it felt though.

I think the last couple of weeks the bump is definitely more noticeably pronounced & in the way when bending over etc - goodness knows where the next two months growth is going to fit 🤣

jbx10 · 30/12/2020 16:31

@Muriel84 how did your scan go? Hope everything went well. I had another growth scan this morning and she was hiccuping away, the lady said her head is tucked right down now! Xx

Char41zam · 30/12/2020 17:15

@babydust2412 I have been woken up the last couple of nights with Braxton Hicks, so uncomfortable! I’m really starting to waddle now to as she sits all in my back!

wannabe123 · 30/12/2020 17:16

I've just had a growth scan. Baby is breech and still sitting on the 97th percentile. My cyst has changed shape probably because baby is squashing it now. I've been advised to take it gentle. I also asked about the covid risk and whether I should still be going to work (primary teacher) and he has advised that I should stay at home. Feeling quite pregnant now I've been told not to do things.

babydust2412 · 30/12/2020 19:12

I'm 35 weeks pregnant and all of a sudden I have a tingly/pins and needles feeling at the top of my bump at the moment, it's lasted 2 days but also feels numb at the same time. It's getting really annoying and uncomfortable now and I wondered if anyone else had this? Or knew what it was? Or a way to ease the feeling? Xx
