As the other thread was about to be full, I thought it made sense to make part 2!
@OnNaturesCourse that is good news for you glad to hear it's moved.

Aww that is cute that you were able to see him practising his breathing and even a little frown!

It's just hitting me that once Christmas is over it won't be long at all until our babies are here ❤️

Has everyone chosen their baby names? We've had one we liked from the beginning and then never really spoke about it again so pretty much decided but I feel like I should try and think of some more options!! Xxx
For the life of us we can not agree on names...at.all!

Poor kid will be nameless for a while I think.

Odd because when we had our first we didn't know the gender but had a boys name set in stone and no clue on girls names. It was a girl and she was named right way, we just knew looking at her. This time we had a girls name set in stone but have found out it's a boy and we have nothing we agree on. I can only hope he "just fits" a name like his sister did at birth.

jbx10 · 22/12/2020 09:11

@OnNaturesCourse haha that is just typical!! Do you not like any of the boys names that were on your list with your first baby? Xxx

OnNaturesCourse · 22/12/2020 09:39

We do, but it's now our nephews name haha

Safxxx · 24/12/2020 09:34

Hi all, hope your all doìng well (or is that a understatement lol)
Just had my 31wk midwife check up, i ended up crying to her as my pelvic area is so painful, plus back/side pains
She said its most likely SPD and to take painkillers. 😞

Char41zam · 24/12/2020 12:43

Hey @Safxxx I have been in a fair bit of pain with my back over this last few days to, had a scan Tuesday and she is weighing 4lbs now and is head down but she is into my back as I have a posterior placenta, some days I don’t look very pregnant at all and others I am huge depending on wether she is facing my back! Getting very tired now too but to be expected I guess. Are you all sorted for Christmas? X

jbx10 · 24/12/2020 12:57

@Safxxx oh no sounds awful hun. Try Have plenty rest over Christmas hopefully the pain killers help ease the pain for you xxx

I had my growth scan yesterday and she's still measuring small. Not going to let myself worry about it as everything else looks ok! Just got to go for weekly growth scans now.

Xxx

Safxxx · 24/12/2020 13:32

@Char41zam that must feel weired going big to small depending on where shes positioned. Weight is coming on nicely.
Midwife did'nt measure mine tday, and due to the pain i forgot to ask.
Were not doing Xmas, i don't have the energy or the health. Will just make roast dinner for the family and enjoy the day by ourselves. Hope you have a lovely time Xxx

Char41zam · 24/12/2020 13:44

Yeah it’s really weird! She is very active though so no matter wether I’m big or small she is moving away. I am shattered too so I feel you, my partner is going to do all the cooking and stuff so mine will be pretty chilled too, hope you have a lovely day xx

Safxxx · 24/12/2020 13:47

@jbx10 yes thats the plan, will take it easy, i think i got worse shopping around and setting our bedroom, which we redecorated. Finaly its completed now just have to sort out the baby stuff.
Hopefuly all goes well for you, still plenty of time for the baby to pick up weight, try not to worry Xxx

Realised this is our first 'just us' Christmas (because of covid) and will defo be the last too! Next year will be very different 😬

wannabe123 · 25/12/2020 20:11

Merry Christmas! Hope you've all had lovely days!

jbx10 · 26/12/2020 20:47

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas.

I'm starting to think I should probably get buying some practical things rather than just cute baby clothes!! As this is our first baby I was hoping for some advice on nappy recommendations?? My MIL has bought us pampers but I've heard they're might not be very good? ConfusedConfused xxx

OnNaturesCourse · 26/12/2020 21:24

Hope everyone has had a awesome Christmas!

@jbx10 with my first I was SOOOO stocked up on pampers, I had a whole cupboard full. Took about 6 months to get through them lol. But I switched to Aldi nappies after and never looked back. I found pampers to be quite leaky especially overnight or after a big pee (my daughter flooded the nappies from about 4 months)

jbx10 · 26/12/2020 21:33

@OnNaturesCourse ahhh thank you! I've seen similar comments when trying to read up online. We have a few pampers, so I might stock up on aldi ones when they next have a baby event.

Finding all the different brands/types of everything like bottles, dummy's, nappies a bit overwhelming! Xxx

OnNaturesCourse · 26/12/2020 21:39

It is difficult to make a start, I found I felt utterly lost the first time we ever went baby shopping and I spent HOURS researching bottles, dummies etc.

In the end we found Aldi nappies the best, tommee tippee anti colic bottles and air flow dummies, grobag sleepsuits, asda george bedding, and mamas and papas "kit" such as buggy and nursery equipment. We've basically done it all that way again this time so hoping it is still all good lol

Char41zam · 27/12/2020 12:20

@jbx10 I have been buying Aldi nappies on a recommendation from a friend as my last baby is now 12 years old and I used to use Asda ones when I had him, Aldi nappies are 99p! And that’s for the premium quick dry ones

jbx10 · 27/12/2020 12:41

@OnNaturesCourse that's exactly how I feel at the moment and I think there is really only research you can do as each baby is different. So what one may like another might not.

@Char41zam thank you!!

I'm going to definitely start getting some of the aldi ones then. I ordered some MAM glass bottles last night I only ordered a couple. Think I'll order a few anti colic ones too then we can see which ones she takes to.

Why is there so much choice for everything!!

OnNaturesCourse · 27/12/2020 14:29

I went straight for the anti colic ones this time as I spent a fortune on tommee tippee bottles of all sizes for DD and she ended up needing the colic ones. Such a waste all the "normal" ones only got used for a few weeks, same for the small anti colic ones. I've been told anti colic ones can be used with or without colic so this time I jsut bought the anti colic ones in the bigger size with extra teats.

Update from me, blood pressure seems to be on the rise and I had crazy swelling last night that has wejt down a bit today. Blood pressure was 129/77 upon waking so I've got to take it again in 4 hours and see where we are at.

There is a possibility it's raised because of my cold / sinuses plus exhaustion from Xmas but it usually sits more around the 115/70 mark so best keep a eye out I guess.

Bambino87 · 28/12/2020 10:39

32 weeks and the nausea is back with a bang! Is anyone else suffering or have any magic advice 😭 feels like a big hangover xxxx

jbx10 · 28/12/2020 11:19

@OnNaturesCourse that's a good idea might get a couple of anti colic ones too. How were your bloods when you re-tested them did they go down?

jbx10 · 28/12/2020 11:20

OnNaturesCourse · 28/12/2020 11:25

They went back down, and stayed down yesterday thankfully. They are elevated again this morning but only at 122/70-something so not drastic.
