As the other thread was about to be full, I thought it made sense to make part 2!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Worse nights sleep ever last night. So much so I'm tucked up in bed still and have enlisted the TV to help watch DC1 today.

Couldn't get comfy for the life of me, and when I did eventually fall asleep I got woken up by crushing pains in my pelvis and braxton hicks, then my back felt like it was snapped. I honestly considered, after about 30 minutes of this, that I was starting labour early. Luckily it all stopped just in time for DPs alarm to go off and wake me again. Couldn't get back to sleep again after that but literally have no energy for nothing.

Feeling like the worst for DC1 today.

Hope you all are having a better day!

Char41zam · 11/12/2020 10:36

@OnNaturesCourse sounds awful! Think we are just getting to that really sore stage now as they are growing bigger, the only saving grace is we don’t have to long till we get our body back although there will be parts I miss as this is my last one! Can’t wait to sleep on my tummy though lol x

Safxxx · 11/12/2020 11:02

I try to avoid walking for long, but last 2 days had to go out to buy things, both times get pressure down there, feels swollen and get this sharp pains. And my sides hurt alot too.
Suppose babies are getting bigger and were bearing alot of weight.
But oh my days i can't even do the house chores without feeling uncomfortable and in pain 😢

Safxxx · 11/12/2020 11:07

The offers on boots advantage card...i managed to pick up a free Mam bottle and soother...but both boots i visited didnt have the child's farm sample set...seems they haven't come across it at all. Xxx

Muriel84 · 11/12/2020 11:54

@OnNaturesCourse sorry to hear that, sounds like a miserable night. It took me a while to get back to sleep after my 2:45 trip to the loo. And then awake again around 5. Sleeping soundly when alarm went off obviously 🙄

@Safxxx I had the opposite! Boots had lots of child farm packs but the only mam bottle they had left had lost its lid. Going to go searching again later. X x

OnNaturesCourse · 11/12/2020 13:05

On the plus side DC has decided to play doctors today so I keep getting instructed to lie down while she fusses around me "making me better" lol

babydust2412 · 11/12/2020 19:41

I had a bad night too, so definitely sympathise with you @OnNaturesCourse 😩 xx
My bub has had hiccups 3 times a day every day for weeks now, midwife says it's normal but the internet has other ideas so I'm ignoring dr google x

OnNaturesCourse · 11/12/2020 21:40

What does Dr Google say? 😳

babydust2412 · 11/12/2020 23:34

@OnNaturesCourse all sorts of ideas about cord issues, but I asked my midwife and she said that dr google is wrong and babied actually hiccup more in the third trimester because they are practicing breathing ❤️

OnNaturesCourse · 12/12/2020 01:40

@babydust2412 the breathing thing is what I had heard too, never a peep about cord issues. Google is the worst thing in the world for things like this, but no one can seem to help themselves looking at it (myself included!) It's like we like to worry ourselves silly.

babydust2412 · 12/12/2020 16:31

@OnNaturesCourse absolutely, google is the devils work for pregnant women 😂 have learnt to stay away now x

Babykmumma · 12/12/2020 16:46

Not felt great throughout his pregnancy and now piles/constipation fun...:( any tips from any mummy’s to be? Looking at cream at the moment

Safxxx · 12/12/2020 17:07

@Babykmumma yeah i think cream is your best option, Germoloid cream is good or preparation H
I read online Aloe vera is good for soothing the pain and itching too.
I've got a Aloe vera plant so will try that first before creams.
My piles are not proluding out there more further up, so getting bit of pain and pressure....can't treat it yet
As for constipation plenty of fruit/fibre and drink plenty
A lactose solution should help things moving.
I tell you but i'm suffering too, i try things but its the stage where at now, its going to take its toll 😢

Stef92 · 14/12/2020 10:04

Morning all! I've got the health visitor coming round tomorrow afternoon, other than the baby book to record vaccines and weight/growth what else do they go through?

Char41zam · 14/12/2020 10:21

@Stef92 I have never had a health visitor come until after I have baby so I’m not sure?

Stef92 · 14/12/2020 13:50

@Char41zam oh right, whereabouts are you based? Might be different based on region?

babydust2412 · 14/12/2020 14:05

@Stef92 my health visitor came for an antenatal visit and she just sat with me and chatted about how they will help and support me and baby and it was just like a general chat about how I was doing xx

Char41zam · 14/12/2020 14:24

@Stef92 I’m in Scotland, my care has not been the best with my midwife so I’m not surprised I haven’t heard anything

Safxxx · 14/12/2020 15:23

I recieved a letter today, info about a health visitor...they will visit/phone me after baby is born...with my previous kids they visited me after not before....letter does say if needed i could contact them before. Xxx

wannabe123 · 15/12/2020 10:37

I've just been looking through my notes and it does mention about a health visitor after 30 weeks as part of the care plan journey. I've not heard anything though.

OnNaturesCourse · 15/12/2020 20:44

I'm nearly 32 weeks and no mention of a home visit. Next appointment is start of January!

I'm in Scotland so maybe it's different up here?

Stef92 · 15/12/2020 21:06

I think it varies by region. I wasn't expecting to see anyone and then I received a letter out of the blue saying a health visitor was coming to see me. She just talked about what type of support I have and gave me leaflets on safe sleeping for baby, breast feeding etc. I was supposed to have received a book to keep a record of baby's weight, jabs etc at 20 week scan but didn't get one so she said I should get it after birth. I'm live in Northumberland but I'm having the baby in Newcastle

OnNaturesCourse · 16/12/2020 16:11

Is this your 1st baby? It could be that?

I was mid move between GP when I was at that this stage with baby 1 so it maybe got missed i guess.

How is everyone getting in with prep?
I've got some clothes. Baby cot, snuzpod are all hand me down from DC1 and we also picked up a secondhand crib for downstairs. Picked up some snowsuits and a baby swing secondhand today aswell. Bought a new steriliser because the one from DC1 wasn't working, but the bottle maker is so that's out aswell. Definitely need to start buying bottles etc. Been picking up a pack of nappies and wipes with every weekly shop but need to start stocking up on creams and bath things. What am I missing...

pampero · 16/12/2020 17:04

Yeh Im similar to some in that there's been no mention about a health visitor pre birth, but my midwife appts are now more regular so she might get bombarded with questions now its all getting closer 🤣
Stuff wise we're pretty well prepped on the bigger practical stuff, I think similar in that we need to stock up on the smaller day to day bits like nappies / wipes /toiletries etc.
Certainly if they did decide to turn up early weve enough to get by & DH can be on call for any last minute supermarket run! Haha

Safxxx · 16/12/2020 17:09

@OnNaturesCourse i've bought all the essentials....just need to pack hospital bags.
