As the other thread was about to be full, I thought it made sense to make part 2!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

These are the current maternity restrictions at my hospital, they're okay to be honest, ones I can deal with at least xx
They will probably change before February tho we have a while still x

Due February 2021 - Part 2

I had a growth scan today @jbx10 but mine are due to having a 6cm cyst on my ovary, so they're scanning every 4 weeks to monitor the cyst and also to check babies growth as the fundal measurements aren't as reliable due to the cyst apparently. Baby was measuring on the 97th percentile today so now I'm having to go for a GTT test to rule diabetes out for his huge size! I am from a tall family so the likelihood is that he is big because of genetics but suppose it is better to be safe than sorry.

Safxxx · 02/12/2020 20:00

I'm in agony...earlier was doing the laundry, all of a sudden lower back went in, I kinda froze, then slowly waddled inside and had a rest, tried hot water bottle and put on a waist support band, got some stick on heat pads, but nothing is helping 😢😢

jbx10 · 02/12/2020 20:24

@wannabe123 I hope your GTT test goes well! Well that's it I do think genetics will play a part I was a small baby so that might be why she's measuring small. Just counting down until my next one so I can see if she's growing as she should be!

@Safxxx oh no! The joys of 3rd trimester. Get plenty of rest hopefully the heat packs will kick in & start helping xx

OnNaturesCourse · 02/12/2020 20:38

Oh no! Maybe a warm bath might help?

I've had to phone triage today because I've got a bad bruise like feeling between my belly button and rib on the rib side. Joys of pregnancy. I'm ready to hibernate until due date!

Safxxx · 02/12/2020 20:52

@jbx10 yes heat pads kicked in lovely and warm but doing nothing for pain at the Mo 😢
@OnNaturesCourse Awe poor You, little one must be kicking/punching hard
Hope you feel better soon.
I know the feeling, I want to hibernate too lol 🤣

Char41zam · 02/12/2020 20:54

My back is terrible lately @Safxxx if I am sat down and get up it clicks and almost gives way! Really struggling this time as she is mostly in my back xx

Safxxx · 02/12/2020 21:11

@Char41zam These little munchkins sure know how to keep us entertained lol
Mine is mostly in the front not back but one of those things ehh still causes a stir 🙄

Char41zam · 02/12/2020 21:44

@Safxxx yep definetly giving us a challenge lol! Sure it will all be a distant memory soon enough! Still can’t believe I’m 30 weeks on Saturday really

pampero · 02/12/2020 22:34

Sounds like some of these little one are testing! I don't know what we're having but my midwife suspects a boy as he often either hides or moves too much when doing scans/ testing heartbeat.

@steph92 I also had my 28 week today and my next one has been booked for 31 weeks, just squeezed in before Christmas. She said all mine would now be face to face (until now some have been phone rather than at the gp). I'm sure they musnt have any concerns if yours is at 32. If you do have any concerns you can always contact your midwife in between or call the hospital (maternity assessment centre where I am)...I was concerned movements had slowed last week & following a call to the hospital they had me in, checked over, monitored and out all reassured very quickly. They were lovely and reiterated to do the same if anything happened again x

Muriel84 · 03/12/2020 09:49

@Safxxx is the pain better today? That sounds horrible...

Wide awake at 3am for hours. Barely keep my eyes open today. Doesn’t help when it’s so dark!

@Stef92 my next appointment is at 32 weeks. That’s standard for my hospital even pre-Covid.

I don’t know how any hospital can say they’ll do the 31/32 week check over the phone! How will they check your wee/blood pressure and baby?! Terrible.

Stef92 · 03/12/2020 09:57

@Muriel84 my 32 week appointment will be face to face but I've not been able to book it in as the GP surgery have not released their appointments yet for the whole of December so will have to call them next week

Stef92 · 03/12/2020 09:59

@pampero I went in for reduced movements a few weeks ago and they were brilliant at the hospital. It's so important that we go in even if you are worried about wasting their time, they'd rather see us than not to confirm everything is ok

Safxxx · 03/12/2020 10:45

@Muriel84 I kept the heat pad on all night along with using a hot water bottle, didn't sleep much due to pain, at the moment it's not as bad as yesterday but still uncomfortable and painful. Xxx

OnNaturesCourse · 03/12/2020 11:20

I went into hospital last night because of reduced movements and pain, little terror starting kicking as soon as the midwife touched my bump 😩🙄 turns out he has probably bruised me internally, and my ligaments are all being pulled because he is point blank refusing to lie on my left/middle. Seems he is facing my left side with bus spine running right down my right side and feet under my ribs (exactly where I am feeling the pain)

We all seem to be getting appointments at different times, I don't have my next one until next week when I will be 30+ weeks. Last time I was seen I was about 23 weeks. Is there a standard time these appointments should be at?

Char41zam · 03/12/2020 11:41

Hey ladies just back from my growth scan, she is in a breech position at the moment but they are not worried about it as she has plenty of time to move! She is just under 3 lbs so right on track growth wise, I will be induced at 37-39 weeks because of my diabetes so I have to go back in 2 weeks and we will discuss dates going forward! All getting so so real now oh and she was pouting at us again proper little madam lol

pampero · 03/12/2020 12:30

@Char41zam must be so lovely to see an image again & glad all is well. Mine is also breech at the moment but again was told the same in that it doesn't matter too much at the moment as they've plenty of time to move still.

@OnNaturesCourse I think some appointments depend on whether its first baby or not. I think for first time mums there's a couple of extra that you maybe don't have for second baby onwards

Safxxx · 03/12/2020 14:25

I had my 25 wk midwife app face to face, today I had my 28wk check, next one is squeezed on 24th Dec for 31wks.
So far there giving me every 3wks check.
GTT test was normal thank goodness,
They measured me i am 27, she said it's Within the normal range, but on the bottom side, but said it's fine.
My other kids were born weighing 6lbs 5
6lbs 9 and the youngest was 1 month premature he weighed 5lbs 14.
So I expect not to have a heavy baby.
My back is feeling much better now, still.uncomfortable but pain has gone down. Xxx

Safxxx · 03/12/2020 14:34

@Char41zam glad all is well Xxx
@OnNaturesCourse must be scary not feeling baby, glad he's doing well and is active. Xxx
@wannabe123 how many weeks are You? Baby sure is measuring big bless Xxx

wannabe123 · 03/12/2020 14:51

@safxxx I'm 29 weeks tomorrow. He's already estimated to be weighing 3lb 4oz!

Safxxx · 03/12/2020 15:05

@wannabe123 Awe bless, wow your a week ahead of me, and while I'm measuring 27 your 97, that's a huge difference. Xxx

wannabe123 · 03/12/2020 15:16

@Safxxx I'm 6ft so think he's got my tall genes!

Safxxx · 03/12/2020 15:29

@wannabe123 ok with your height makes sense...i'm 5'7 and hubby is just under 6ft. although my kids be born average, they sure make up for it afterwards lol.
All 3 are tall the 2 boys are tallest in there class bless them. I'm forever buying bigger sizes in clothes for them...you will see what I mean in future lol Xxx

Char41zam · 03/12/2020 16:17

Are any of you ladies on iron? I just got a call from the midwife at the hospital and my heamoglobin levels are 101 so really quite low so I have to start taking iron from tomorrow, I don’t eat red meat so I think this is something to do with it

Muriel84 · 03/12/2020 16:54

Gosh it is all starting to sound very real! Talking of induction already...

@Safxxx glad all went well today. I was measuring a cm under at 25 weeks but spot on at 28. It’s a pretty inaccurate way to measure things! My partner and I are both 5 7 so don’t think we’ll be having any tall babies. It’s the size of his head that’s worrying me more.

@Char41zam I don’t eat meat but fortunately my Hb has been fine. I really don’t think I could cope with iron tablets. I’m on a laxative cocktail plus high fibre diet as it is... x x x
