@fruitloops34 think you're Ayrshire too? I'll be 16 weeks on Thursday, and presumed they meant they would call you whenever? I'll probably be at work though! Haha
I'm not even looking forward to it because it's over the phone, I don't know what information they'll tell me that will be different and also can't check anything with the baby because it's over the phone!!

Queenbee95 · 17/11/2020 09:39

I have my 16 weeks on Thursday (will be 16+6) face to face

bubblybrit · 17/11/2020 10:24

@singleandttc. Your journey sounds so similar to mine. I arrived at the hospital after having a couple of strong contractions. Thought it was way too early but DH wanted me to go and get checked out. My DD was born one hour later! I’m a bit concerned about this labour now 😬

singleandttc · 17/11/2020 10:34

@bubblybrit I'm sure it will be fine. We just need to prepare to go in ridiculously early when anything starts.

So I had my 12 week scan this morning. All is great so I'm unbelievably relieved. 😀 Now I can tell everyone! Yay!

@singleandttc. My DH is a worrier so I’ll likely be there if I so much as have a twinge lol 😂 ah what a fab scan photo. So glad that baby is all ok...great news! Now it’s the good part when you get to tell everyone! I’m not sure how I am going to keep quiet for another 5 weeks 😬

sunnysideup3 · 17/11/2020 10:38

@singleandttc congrats! Great pic 😊 If I remember correctly you had really bad nausea and sickness? Has it gotten better?

MrsKMum · 17/11/2020 10:50

@Queenbee95 I'm due April 24, so a wee bit before you Smile Congratulations on baby number 3! Amazing!

GrandTheftWalrus · 17/11/2020 11:32

Ill be 16+6 at my 16wk appointment but it's over the phone so again I dunno what will happen. I then have a private scan at 17+4

MrsKMum · 17/11/2020 13:31

Had my 16 week appointment last week, was 16+6. Was in person and only quick, had a blood pressure check and pee protein check then got to hear the baby's heartbeat Smile

Am having to see the Obstetrician, appointment is booked for January, as I have Crohns so am getting a bunch of additional appointments and scans. Think that appointment will cover birth plan too as there are concerns around my bowel strength and if it will cope with a natural birth Blush

Have my scan booked at the hospital in a couple of weeks, think I'll be 20+3, assume that'll be the gender scan.

Probably a dumb question but how come some ladies are booking in private scans? Is it your health board isn't providing them or just for additional reassurance?

Welliedays · 17/11/2020 13:32

I've just had my 16 week appointment at 17 +5 but my scan put me ahead a week and I only has that last week so it's not the midwifes fault. It was face to face. Next appointment is 24 weeks and that will be face to face too

singleandttc · 17/11/2020 14:55

@sunnysideup3 sadly I'm still not coping very well with the sickness. I'm on my 4th anti sickness tablet and it's helping a bit more, but it's only a 5 day course and after that I need to go back to one of the ones that made me sleep all day. It's better than throwing up all the time but it's a pain. I'm not really enjoying this pregnancy yet. Hopefully it will calm down at 16ish weeks and things will get a bit better.

barbiemummy20 · 17/11/2020 15:23

I am 15+4 today and went to loo and wiped and saw pink/red blood have for such a fright phoned triage and they have said just to monitor it and if it soaks pad etc to call them, I am terrified something is going wrong and feel so helpless 😢 they said it could have been something irritating cervix or that but I don't have a clue just wish they'd had me in for a scan or something x

Fruitloops34 · 17/11/2020 15:42

@barbiemummy20 Don’t panic, I’ve seen women on here who stated they bled through pads every so often and there was never anything wrong. Don’t think the worst.

Fruitloops34 · 17/11/2020 15:45

@singleandttc How far along are you now? I’m 16 weeks today and the sickness and nausea has almost gone, replaced however with a new symptom which I don’t know what’s worse. At about 4-5pm every day I develop this pain under my right shoulder blade(where my bra strap is) and doesn’t go away until I lie flat in bed or the floor. So not sure what was worse the sickness or this. It’s like toothache in my back but every website I’m reading says backache at this stage is normal because of your tummy growing. I would tell my midwife but I don’t know who she is lol.
I really hope you start to feel better soon.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 17/11/2020 16:24

I'm sorry @barbiemummy20 - so stressful when they say just to wait and see! How is it doing now? Hopefully just some cervical nonsense w

@Fruitloops34 thanks for the kind words 💕
@TheDaydreamBelievers nothing more than what I had earlier been to loo a couple of times and nothing there so fingers crossed 🤞

singleandttc · 17/11/2020 17:42

@Fruitloops34 I'm only 12+3 ☹️ I had nausea/vomiting until 32 weeks with my daughter, so 16 weeks is probably wishful thinking for me but I have to dream! Oh no, your pain sounds weird! Pregnancy is such a strange time. Our bodies really do go through some random things.

I had a phone call this afternoon arranging my 16 week appointment which is great, but she told me I'm deemed high risk and will probably have to see a consultant. The reasons she gave were my daughter having Down's syndrome - but I've had the NIPT and it's low risk so that's not an issue this time. And the fact I had an infection in my stitches last time a couple weeks after birth. The apps also been updated to say high risk and it states previous hyperemesis (doesn't mention current) and previous precipitate labour too. The fast labours the only thing that could realistically be an issue for pregnancy surely- but I can just go in earlier. Hopefully it won't mean I have to go to labour ward instead of midlife led unit.

That sounds like indigestion/wind type pain. I get that sometimes and lying on my back is the only thing that helps.

Sexnotgender · 17/11/2020 18:38

19+3 today and feel like an absolute whale.

Fruitloops34 · 17/11/2020 18:48

@Sexnotgender My mum did say that as well and I have been taking that gaviscon stuff which helps at times.

sunnysideup3 · 17/11/2020 19:07

@singleandttc sorry to hear you're still suffering from nausea/sickness. Fingers crossed it gets better by week 16 🤞

I feel nauseous every evening. Not having much fun being pregnant so far 😂 Had a long call with a friend today and we chatted about babies, it was weird to talk about the subject without her knowing I'm pregnant!

Gaxy1 · 17/11/2020 21:11

I’ve been nauseous most of the day with the odd day of vomiting. I’m taking stemetil which doesn’t seem to be helping. Was prescribed cyclizine, which I took the first dose a few hours ago. Felt really lightheaded and tired not long afterwards but actually feeling a bit more like my usual self now. I’m only 8 weeks so I’m prepared to be feeling like this for a wee while longer.

PopcornMum · 17/11/2020 22:19

@Gaxy1 I didn't realise you could get meds if you didn't have Hypermeris. I feel nauseous all day and it's much worse than I expected, I can't seem to get any work done because I just feel awful all day but trying to hide that from everyone at work is tough. How did you get on meds? I'm 9+4 but haven't seen a Dr although I have my midwife appointment next week.

Gaxy1 · 18/11/2020 06:11

@PopcornMum I just called my GP and asked for something to help. It was impacting my life trying to deal with it.

PopcornMum · 18/11/2020 06:44

@Gaxy1 Yeh impacting my life 100%. I'm avoiding everyone, can't work and just feel I have to eat constantly. I think I'll call my Dr today. Thanks for the advice. I just thought since I'm not throwing up constantly they wouldn't give me anything but it's good to know they might. Anything to avoid another 4 weeks of hell.
