@PopcornMum I was given cyclezine when I was about 6 or 7 weeks and it was severe nausea for me too. Not been sick at all.
I have to say it didn't work for me at all. I didn't feel less nauseous but it did make me feel really drowsy so it affected me even more at work. I was signed off work last week it's been so bad.
I'm 10 weeks now and I'm really hoping the worst of it has nearly passed.
This stage and these feels are absolutely draining - hope you feel better soon.

sunnysideup3 · 18/11/2020 09:08

It's only last week that I read up that we could get medical help even if we don't have the most severe sickness cases. But it's not explicitly stated in NHS website or anywhere. It's especially hard when you haven't seen a midwife yet so you don't know what the process of asking help would be!
I don't understand why there is reluctance to help out pregnant women with this, if the medicine is safe for both mama and the baby.

Gaxy1 · 18/11/2020 10:14

It really affects your mental health feeling so bad all the time. I feel a bit overwhelmed with it at times.

Fruitloops34 · 18/11/2020 12:00

My gender scan was meant to be next Tuesday but called WTTW and asked if we could change to this week due to all the restrictions from Friday. Managed to get us in tomorrow night at 8.30pm.

So nervous to find out what we are having.

bubblybrit · 18/11/2020 12:22

@Fruitloops34. Oh that’s exciting 😀! Is this your first?

Sexnotgender · 18/11/2020 12:24

I can’t stop eating 🙈 I’m going to be the size of a house by the time this baby appears.

bubblybrit · 18/11/2020 12:24

Does anyone know how long the booking appointment lasts at Forth Valley. I think I was there for almost an hour when I was pregnant with DD but unsure if it’s still the same given the current climate?

singleandttc · 18/11/2020 13:28

@bubblybrit I'm FV. My booking appointment was about an hour. And they were running about 45 mins late.. so I was there for ages.

Fruitloops34 · 18/11/2020 13:31

@bubblybrit It sure is. So everything is a first. I’m happy with whatever it will be but still nerve racking waiting to find out lol

sunnysideup3 · 18/11/2020 13:55

I was so set on not telling people until I'm like 20 weeks in (it's lockdown so who's going to see me!). But I have changed my mind completely - I can't wait to stop hiding the pregnancy! It's too much work 😂 Anyone else changed their minds about when to tell people?

Cr20 · 18/11/2020 14:01

Ooo can I join! Im not to sure how many weeks Iam but I had a positive test 2 weeks on Friday saying 1-2 weeks and have my first scan the 30th of next month so still have a little bit to go until I find out when I'm due Hmm

GrandTheftWalrus · 18/11/2020 14:06

I wasn't going to tell anyone until about February time but as this is the last time I'll be pregnant I wanted to announce at 12wks. But I was worried about work and that they would stop giving me shifts as I'm on a zero hours contract. However I emailed my boss and she said it didn't affect work at all so I announced about 5 mins later lol

fattymumbum · 18/11/2020 15:02

We were planning to have a big announcement at 12weeks but because I was unwell and needed help we told close family. I told close friends at 12 weeks, but hoping not to tell people at work and friends and family at 20 weeks. My boss already knows because I've been off sick.x

Still gutted we couldn't have our big reveal. I would rather wait for sure after the scan so I'm totally happy and know baby is probably healthy and fine!!

Queenbee95 · 18/11/2020 15:15

Me and dh told our close family the week we found out (so was 5 weeks roughly). We both are very close with our families though so it just made sense. I told rest of family and friends around 13 weeks after we had scan and knew everything was going well

bubblybrit · 18/11/2020 15:20

Thank you @singleandttc! The time I’ve been given isn’t great as it clashes with the time id usually pick up DD from nursery. Looks as if DH will need to collect her that day. I don’t really see the point of DH attending the booking appointment. He came when I was pregnant with DD but it didn’t really feel necessary to have him there.

bubblybrit · 18/11/2020 15:21

@Fruitloops34. How exciting!?! Bet you are counting down the hours now 😀

PinkRoses20 · 18/11/2020 15:44

Had our 20 week scan today, what a relief knowing baby is doing as good as can be Smile finally going to start telling more people now (it is definitely getting harder to hide physically 🙈)

fattymumbum · 18/11/2020 19:54

Congratulations @pinkrose20!!

fattymumbum · 18/11/2020 19:56

I'm getting excited to tell people at 20 weeks too. How did you managed to hide the bump? The first time I didn't really have a problem, but I'm more worried this time because it's a second pregnancy! @pinkrose20.

TheDaydreamBelievers · 18/11/2020 20:08

I told best friend at 6 weeks, more pals and parents at 9 weeks, couple more pals at 11 weeks. Then after 12 week scan tomorrow will tell the other friends and family and my work (anyone who I dont bother specifically telling, doesnt really need to know)

PinkRoses20 · 18/11/2020 20:40

@fattymumbum thanks! it wasn't really noticeable until the last few weeks or so when it just seemed to pop. Work has been the hardest place to hide it so i've just wore loose tops and big scarves - although i have prob made it more obvious i'm trying to hide something 🙈

fattymumbum · 18/11/2020 21:13

@pinkroses20 well done! I found a big skirt that only just fit when I bought it a year ago, and it was huge even with the bump, i went for all black today. I'll be 16 weeks tomorrow, I'll try some scarves, I found if a suit jacket manages to fasten its a good disguise!

PinkRoses20 · 18/11/2020 21:25

@fattymumbum good thing is with the colder weather now we can wear big jumpers etc. Only 4 weeks to go for you then 😊

GeneralClux · 18/11/2020 22:14

Hi all, I'm just catching up with this new group. Had been laying low again but nausea finally seems to easing! I'm in Ayrshire, 13 weeks so due 26th May with my first. Did anyone else have issues with baby not being in the right position to measure during their scan, midwife had me up and down from the bed, wiggling my hips and was doing some serious prodding! Wee one takes after it's awkward mother already! :)

fattymumbum · 19/11/2020 05:34

@pinkroses20 I'm excited for you telling people now. And the great thing about telling late is the rest of the pregnancy should go really quickly.
I'm seeing nobody really apart from close family at the moment apart from work, so out of work it seems so easy because of lockdown, just wearing big jumpers like you!!
