Anyone else had an early scan and measuring a week behind where they thought?

I know when we "did it" Blush and therefore I thought my dates would be fairly accurate?

Bleubird · 26/10/2020 07:33

Love this thread! I’m currently 6 weeks pregnant, due around 20th June. It’s just me and my husband that know so far. Can’t wait to let the secret out. Talking of symptoms, I’ve been suffering with hives all over my upper body, not itchy & 111 don’t seem concerned. I’m going to bring it up in my first midwife appt - has anyone experienced the same?

Dragonfly92 · 26/10/2020 08:01

Hope everyone is doing okay.

Anyone else get to 6 weeks and nausea hit them like a ton of bricks? I'm 6 + 3 and can't get much relief. Getting the bus to work and wearing a mask is so not helpful either 🤢

ladymary86 · 26/10/2020 08:27

@WeavingWandering what symptoms did you have? Have they stopped completely or just eased?

Humpty11 · 26/10/2020 08:31

@Bleubird my friend had this in both her pregnancies but definitely worth mentioning it. Have you tried going to the pharmacy to see if there’s anything pregnancy safe that you can use? I hope it stops soon, it must be so irritating 😖.

@Dragonfly92 that’s when mine started too 🤢. I’ve found sucking mints helps a lot 🤞🏼

Bleubird · 26/10/2020 08:38

@Humpty11 it’s good to know others have experienced it! I’m going to pop in the pharmacy this week and check with them, I’m praying it doesn’t turn itchy🤞

Dragonfly92 · 26/10/2020 08:47

@Humpty11 thanks for the tip. I'll grab some mints and hope they help. Thought I was getting off lightly with nausea up until now. How wrong I was! Hope yours has eased up.

bestsquirrelinthewholehole · 26/10/2020 09:10

@AIRRR I have had a constant yucky taste in my mouth. Its normal, people describe it as metallic... To me it's not metallic at all. It's just horrid. Sucking sweets help. And I have found taking a couple of rennie occasionally helps too, as I could be acid build up. Whatever it is I had it with my last pregnancy too.

@Jen8888 I think implantation happens at really different times for different people, right? As long as the sonographer isn't worried, I don't think it should be an issue. Not that that'll stop you worrying, I find new reasons to worry everyday...😭

@Dragonfly92 Exactly the same for me with the sickness. I had good intentions of doing loads of yoga around week 5 and by the next week they'd all gone out of the window!

@AlRRRR @bestsquirrelinthewholehole all my food has a horrible, bitter aftertaste. I'll have to try the sweets/mints trick, I can't seem to shift it.

Sitchervice · 26/10/2020 09:21

@Jen8888 the woman who did my emergency scan said babies all grow at different rates early on, which is why they don't date until later. By the time they hit 12 weeks they should all be caught up.

Jen8888 · 26/10/2020 09:23

Thank you @Sitchervice @scrambledeggy x

Sitchervice · 26/10/2020 09:27

@Jen8888 it's no problem my little one was a week behind too.

Orlandoflorida1 · 26/10/2020 10:52

Is there a Facebook group set up that I could join?

WeavingWandering · 26/10/2020 10:58

I have had IVF so am on progesterone so I’m aware that could be causing the sore breasts and bloating . But even that seems to have waned

Had moments of nausea but that’s completely gone. And the odd twinges and pokes! Had a couple ocular migraines as well but they weren’t regular enough I’m noticing their absence.

GP is refusing to do any tests because I’ve not had bleeding or cramping - but I’m on progesterone so I’m not going to regardless of what’s happening . Sad

I did another test - which feels a bit redundant at nearly week 7 and it’s still coming up a strong positive ... but that obviously doesn’t mean much .

I’ve got a scan booked for next Monday but I’m going to see if they would let me bring it into this week- I’m not sure another week of this is going to do me any good.

bex757 · 26/10/2020 11:55

Doctors reckon I will be admitted to hospital due to Hyperemesis Gravidarum.

GanderousGoose · 26/10/2020 11:56

@AIRRRR I don't know, am presuming there will be some kind of face to face for blood tests etc but I have been sent a telephone appt letter for 10 Nov, when I will be 9+1. I would like blood test doing sooner rather than later. Does anyone have any suggestions? I feel like it's very unclear when it's ok to try and see the GP as well.

AlRRRR · 26/10/2020 12:22

Okay haha! So that’s what’s started yday then! x

AlRRRR · 26/10/2020 12:23

@GanderousGoose ah I understand! I have no idea because when I had my 1st, I just went at 8 weeks and saw the midwife. It’s crazy this time around with everything!

AlRRRR · 26/10/2020 12:23

@bex757 Oh love! I feel for you, hopefully a short stay! How many weeks are you? x

AlRRRR · 26/10/2020 12:25

@scrambledeggy - I didn’t get this first time round so it’s so weird! I thought I had Covid so I did a test hahaha Then I wrote here to see if anyone else has it. I would not say metallic, more like a weird perfume / chemical taste that is just there alll the time

bex757 · 26/10/2020 12:26

@AlRRRR I'm 6 weeks + 4 just can't keep anything down, and still being sick on a empty stomach.

AlRRRR · 26/10/2020 12:28

@bex757 Omg, how challenging! So are they going to admit you?

bex757 · 26/10/2020 12:30

@AlRRRR so had a doctors appointment last week after not keeping anything down for more than 24 hours given anti sickness tablets which worked for 36 hours then stopped working, so have another doctors appointment at 2.30 which the doctor said on the phone he probably will admit me to hospital- It's a nightmare I have a 2 year old.

AlRRRR · 26/10/2020 12:32

Oh poor love! That’s must feel awful, I hope you have family nearby to help, did you have it with your 1st?

Sitchervice · 26/10/2020 12:33

Had second emergency scan today due to bleeding. Was told there is a heartbeat. So all is good still a week behind but that's OK.
