@Waitingforbabypage @lucieloos thank you for your support 🙏 it all gets a bit easier soon. Dreading going to work tomorrow. I've been told I look tired by everyone I work with for the past 2 weeks! I just want to hibernate!

lucieloos · 08/11/2020 20:45

@ECoby I feel so lucky I'm working from home at the moment otherwise I really think I would have to sign myself off sick.

Nesski · 08/11/2020 20:54

Hello can I join please?? 7+1 today with my first and it's been a horrific ride so far, praying for the 12 week mark and that it goes away Smile

lucieloos · 09/11/2020 14:58

Had our early scan today and everything was good. We got to see the little heartbeat and they measured me at 7+5 and I had worked out 7+4 so just right. Going to book in the nipt test next which is the scary one. How many are finding out the sex? I can't decide what to do. We had a surprise for our first two which was really nice but I think from more practical terms it would be easier to know what this one was sooner.

RLou3 · 09/11/2020 15:38

Hi @lucieloos! I am glad that everything is well for you ☺️ I have my early scan tonight! I am SO nervous. This is baby number 1 for us. Can you tell me what to expect? I am so so nervous. I have myself at either 7 + 2 or 7 + 4. Did I mention how nervous I am.... xxxxxx

lucieloos · 09/11/2020 15:49

Hi @RLou3 congratulations on baby no 1. We booked our scan through ultrasound direct. You have to drink a pint or more of fluids an hour before your appt and then they will scan you abdominally first and they should be able to get a decent enough picture at 7 weeks + but if they can't you have the option of an internal scan. They just had a good look around, showed us baby and it's heart beat. Checked everything looked healthy and which side I ovulated from and checked the corpus luteum and then printed out some pics and sent us a couple of videos etc. It is nerve wracking but as soon as you see the baby and everything is ok you will breathe a deep sigh of relief and enjoy it.

northerngal20 · 09/11/2020 16:07

hey @lucieloos congrats on the scan! is the nipt test something different to the 12 week dating scan? or can they do the tests at the same time? i also definitely want to find out the sex asap! just because i'm fascinated by this tiny human and want to know as much about it as possible!

i just had my reassurance scan after a mmc and everything was ok!! i was so relieved as i've been spotting all weekend, so i went into it thinking the worst. but saw the teeniest little heart beating and almost cried! going to try to enjoy (relax/nap as much as i can) the next few weeks now until 12 weeks :)

Jinglebells87 · 09/11/2020 17:12

This nausea is really getting me down. I'm in my 6th week of feeling like crap and the thought of having to cook my kids tea whilst feeling so sick and still trying to hide it from them fills me with dread! I have had no joy from this pregnancy so far and I'm just feeling so rubbish!
Sorry for the moan! It's nice to hear about all the positive scans that people are having. I think once I get some reassurance I will feel much better. I hope everyone is having a nice evening!

AlRRRR · 09/11/2020 17:18

@Jinglebells87 omg i could have wrote that! Meal times are my worst times too! It fills me with dread every meal time. I started to order just to stop one meal from
being tough and we never order food!

How many do you have and what are their ages? I have 1girl ages 3 :)

Jinglebells87 · 09/11/2020 17:46

I'm glad it's not just me @AIRRRR! We only usually order takeaway once a month if that but it's at least once a week at the moment!
I have a 7 year old girl and 4 year old boy. My boy knows nothing about what's going on but I am trying not to freak my girl out by letting on how bad I feel!
How many weeks are you?

Humpty11 · 09/11/2020 18:09

Good evening ladies,
Congratulations on the early scans and sorry to read about the sickness sufferers!
I’m 9+3 and have just evening vomited for the first time and it was grim. I can deal with morning pre food voms but this is truly vile. I thought I’d get away with it this time as I’m past 9 weeks but obviously not 🤢. Is it going to get worse now or might this hopefully just be a one off 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼
Hoping everyone is feeling less grotty soon!

AlRRRR · 09/11/2020 18:10

@Jinglebells87 I have my booking in app this week so probably around 7-8 weeks! Sickness feeling every day all day but I can eat, in fact it usually makes me feel better for a small while. What about you?

Jinglebells87 · 09/11/2020 18:23

@AIRRRR I'm 10 + 3 and I do feel a bit better in the mornings, I also find that eating can make me feel better for about 30 mins and then I feel bad again.

@Humpty11 sorry you are feeling so rubbish too. I have managed to avoid actually being sick, but that does sound awful for you. My doctor told me at 9 weeks you should start feeling a bit better.

AlRRRR · 09/11/2020 19:27

@Jinglebells87 Ah okay! I was actually sick with my 1st (she was going to be my only one but accident happened 😂🤣😂🤣).

Me and my husband live apart by mutual agreement but are still together so this baby will be different and means I have to stomach the days he isn’t here, cooking for my daughter haha

Jinglebells87 · 09/11/2020 20:05

@AIRRRR we were stopping at 2 kids but same as you, we had a surprise Grin!

That must be tough trying to cope by yourself. My partner works up to 7 days a week and is usually late home so I do the majority by myself but whenever he is here he picks up the slack (apart from washing, ironing, packed lunches etc!). I keep thinking back to the days of when I was pregnant with my first and only had myself to look after.... ah, those were the days GrinWink.

Garman · 09/11/2020 20:58

I can't tag people here it's really annoying.

I also feel better for about half an hour after eating, then nauseous again! I told my 6 year old I have a migraine and it's making me sick, if he tells anyone at school mummy was sick over the weekend they will of course assume Covid!!

AlRRRR · 10/11/2020 07:46

@Jinglebells87He comes Sun to wed so not alone 24/7. He does some kind of intense yoga and it interferes with the house 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 So better with with our own space! I like chatting on this site though! Such bad sickness today and I have a 14.5 hour shift 🤪🤪🤪

When are people telling their work?

PinkPlantCase · 10/11/2020 08:04

I’m working from home so probably won’t tell work until the last week before Christmas or will wait until after and tell them in January.

Sort of hilarious that I need to renew my professional development plan for a meeting next week. Where do I see myself in a years time Grin

In all seriousness though I think I’ll be back in work for September 2021. I’m not far enough into my career to take a year off and it not really impact progression. I’m also the main earner so DH will take a few months at home with baby once I go back.

Also don’t want my work to absolutely crap themselves if I get pregnant with a second in a few years time.

America5 · 10/11/2020 09:26

Hi everyone!
I'm 9 weeks 4 days and am due 11th June based on my LMP. It's so nice to read through this and not feel alone when I'm worrying. I'm so scared of attending my first scan in 2 weeks especially because I've read a lot about mmc. I've had symptoms on and off throughout of knowing but cramps/twinges have stayed throughout pretty much. I had a yellow/tan discharge on Sunday morning when I first wiped but I've read that this could be pre natal vitamins, has anyone else had this? Xxxx

PumpkinEverything · 10/11/2020 11:53

@America5 hello! This group is so good for making you feel better 😊 it’s not a discharge for me, but more my pee when I wipe, is always a yellow colour in the evening as I take my prenatal with dinner. So I think it’s quite normal!

PumpkinEverything · 10/11/2020 11:55

@AIRRRR I’m working from home at the moment so can keep it a secret mostly. I’m hopefully going to wait until I’m 12 weeks, I’m only 7 tomorrow so it’s going to be the longest 5 weeks of my life! The only way I’ll tell them sooner is if I have too many appointments to go to before then that I need to ask for time off for without being suspicious. I work really closely with one other girl from my team, and I know she’s going to suspect something if I have a lot to go to and she doesn’t know, as I very rarely have appointments to go to!

America5 · 10/11/2020 12:01

@PumpkinEverything yeah definitely since Sunday it has been just wee I think that's discoloured the tissue as I also take them with my dinner so it would be first thing when I see reminisce of the vitamins I suppose wouldn't it!

PumpkinEverything · 10/11/2020 12:02

@America5 yep I think so 😊 that would make sense!

America5 · 10/11/2020 12:03

@Humpty11 hey! I believe we are the same weeks along, I'm 9+4 today and due on the 11th June according to my LMP! How's pregnancy treating you? Is this your first? Xx

I’m also working from home at the minute so if everything’s ok at the 12 week scan I will tell my work then. Really hoping this is before we finish for a Xmas break as I was hoping to tell friends over Christmas! Fingers crossed!
