Had my first scan and all seems to be okay, phew. I’m actually measuring even earlier, at 6+2. My LMP has me at 9+2, but my ovulation date gave me 7 exactly, and that’s still not even right 😂 I was able to see a little heart beat which was nice too. It was transvaginal as I’m so early, but it was honestly fine, just felt a bit weird.
She did have a look around my womb and my ovaries and said she think I have a submucosal fibroid in my fundus.... so I’m hoping everything is okay!
Very blurry photo as it’s so early 😊

@PumpkinEverything what was the scan like? I have mine tomorrow!

Also with the milkshakes you should be fine to have a McDonald’s one the machines get taken apart and steam cleaned every 24 hours which is why they break all the time!

Garman · 06/11/2020 19:27

I dodged having a transvaginal again, have always managed to get away with abdominal ones at the 6 week scan, thankfully, I dreaded the idea of them!

PumpkinEverything · 06/11/2020 19:41

@Whywontitname it was fine! They told me to go to the toilet beforehand so my bladder was empty and then just explained how it worked. They then let me go behind a curtain to take everything off down the bottom and gave me a blanket to put over me. She then described it as being similar to putting in a tampon, which it kind of was, and it looks like a thick stick sort of thing 😳 I could then just feel it moving about as she searched around, but it was actually okay as I could see the screen and see what she was doing and looking at. That made it a lot better. She then took a few photos and measurements to double check the size and how far along I was as it’s so early for me. They seemed surprised how early it was actually!

@Garman it really wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. I’d imagined it being worse than a smear but it was okay 😊 my husband was like wow. Thanks for going through that. It didn’t look comfortable 😂 but it was fine

northerngal20 · 06/11/2020 19:47

ahh i've just had some (light) brown spotting (at 7+3). I'm trying to stay calm - i have a reassurance scan on monday after a mmc a few months back so going to see what happens over the weekend and go in for that. but has anyone else had any spotting around 7 weeks? it's so scary!

Tatty1987 · 06/11/2020 19:54

@PumpkinEverything that’s amazing news! Anddddd relax! Smile so glad it went well for you. Good to hear that transvaginal isn’t too bad either incase that’s that I need to have tomorrow.

Sitchervice · 06/11/2020 20:07

@northerngal20 I did. But I'm spotting again at 9. Very scared of loosing. I have a bad back as well but that could be due to unsuitable chair for work

Whywontitname · 06/11/2020 20:18

@PumpkinEverything that doesn’t sound bad at all actually! Not sure what kind of scan I’ll end up having and I was getting nervous about the trans vaginal but that’s very reassuring. I had visions of the thing they use for a smear. Are you tempted to have another one in a few weeks? I feel like I’ll want one every week once I get started

PumpkinEverything · 06/11/2020 20:19

@Tatty1987 it’s just so early! I have even longer to wait until I get to 12 weeks now 😂 I’m a bit worried about whatever this fibroid is. I have my booking appointment on Monday though, so I’m actually glad I had that scan so I can mention it to the midwife to see what they think incase it needs to be checked any further.

PumpkinEverything · 06/11/2020 20:21

@Whywontitname I thought exactly the same, but it’s really not like that. They don’t use anything to hold you open like they do with the smear, they just put whatever it is right in and it has jelly on it so it’s easy enough. I swear I’d go for a scan every week if it was an option 😳 I feel like I need constant reassurance! I have my booking appointment on Monday so I’m curious as to whether they’re still going to book my 12 week scan by my LMP, as I know now that I’m actually 3 weeks behind that, so I’d be far too early if they do.

northerngal20 · 06/11/2020 20:41

@Sitchervice ahh sorry to hear that - hopefully it is just the chair! what's the spotting like now? ugh i just wish there was a way to know what's happening in there!

Whywontitname · 06/11/2020 20:43

@PumpkinEverything Same! I just want to keep knowing everything is ok, which I guess is natural but I do think I’m getting a bit overly stressed about some things like not having my booking in app till 10+4 etc.

From what I’ve read on a few forums they still seem to keep the scan date and then give you another at 12 weeks so you might be in luck there.

Sitchervice · 06/11/2020 20:44

@northerngal20 light on there when I whipe. A little stringy.

GeeHO98 · 06/11/2020 21:30

@northerngal20 I've had some spotting I thought I was 7 nearly 8 week but had a reassurance scan today and only measuring 6 weeks but everything was okay it was different from my miscarriage a few months ago bleeding wasn't as bad with no cramps. Doctor told me to take it easy and not strain myself and it should calm down hope your scan goes well!

northerngal20 · 06/11/2020 21:43

@GeeHO98 ahh thank you - that's so reassuring, really glad your scan was all okay!! yep i'm hoping it'll calm down now, going to take it easy and try to relax over the weekend :)

luxxlisbon · 06/11/2020 21:51

My early scan was disappointing, turned out I was also 3 weeks earlier than my LMP. Except it was the difference between 8 and 5 so it was very very early. They couldn’t see much but they did say all signs still point to pregnancy but it’s just too early to see much.
My immediate reaction was devastated which might sound stupid as they did say I’m pregnant but it doesn’t feel like it now as they couldn’t show me.

I took a test as soon as I got home and even with my incredibly diluted pee it was still positive so I’m clinging to that.

Tess2703 · 07/11/2020 01:44

Hi everyone ! Also due 14th June ! Could anyone please add me to the private fb group? Thanks :)

AlRRRR · 07/11/2020 07:11

@Sitchervice I had brown/ pink stringy spotting for 8/9 weeks with my first x

Sitchervice · 07/11/2020 07:58

@AlRRRR it scared me. My doctors don't seem to care. Just told me to get on with it 😭

AlRRRR · 07/11/2020 08:03

@Sitchervice It started for me 2 days after pos test and then it continued. I went to portugal on week 5 as my partner is Portuguese and I was meeting his family for the first time (very funny).

Anyway we decided to go check it out and they just checked and said miscarriage probably. They say heartbeat at week 6. I then came home and saw midwife at 8 weeks and it was stopping by then. No further checks were done till I had usual 12 week scan :) Mine was always brown and stringy with pink sometimes when wiping x

Finallybfp · 07/11/2020 10:20

I’m 10 weeks and 4 days now , I got my letter through yesterday for my 12week scan , it’s not till the 25th November so I’ll be 13weeks by the time I get it . Feel like I’m on a 2 week wait now to see baby again to actually feel pregnant . Atm I’m not really having any symptoms , just bloating on my belly and feeling more tired then usual.

Penny2020 · 07/11/2020 10:56

Same here @Finallybfp, I didn’t have many symptoms to start with but this week it just feels like everything’s gone back to normal - I’d had sore boobs throughout and was holding on to that but last couple of days they are normal again. Convincing myself it’s all over, it’s totally irrational but I can’t help myself. This waiting is excruciating

Jinglebells87 · 07/11/2020 11:12

I've just booked a private scan a week before my NHS one because my hospital has just announced that no partners can attend scans until lockdown is over. I've only got to wait until 17th Nov but even that seems like forever away!

PumpkinEverything · 07/11/2020 11:52

@Finallybfp @Penny2020 I have been exactly the same. No symptoms other than sore boobs and bloating. Now that I’ve found out I’m only 6+3, I’m sort of wondering if it’s because it’s been far too early for anything, and maybe they’ll still appear. I did see the heartbeat yesterday, so something is happening, and the million things I’ve read online say some women just don’t get a lot of symptoms! It’s terrible because some women suffer so bad that we should feel lucky, but it actually just makes you paranoid 😔

Finallybfp · 07/11/2020 12:08

@PumpkinEverything yeah I actually feel quite lucky that I haven’t had really bad symptoms , feeling sick or anything but at the same time I feel like a few more symptoms would help reassure me that things were going well . I do have sore boobs every now and then but it keeps calming down slightly . I didn’t think I would feel so anxious when finding out I was pregnant and keep thinking something is going to go wrong. Just can’t wait for me 12week (13weeks scan now) to see baby again Smilex
