Hello ladies, I am due around 4th June and I am currently 9 weeks 3 days with my first baby.
I had a private scan last week where I was measuring around 1 week behind but I was reassured this is normal. It was just so lovely and reassuring to see a heartbeat!

I would love to join the Facebook group if possible please? X

@PumpkinEverything

Thank you *@123feraverto* 😊 I’m in Northern Ireland, but assume it will be the same sort of questions. I’m just worried that I won’t know something from my family history as we haven’t told our parents yet and I know they’ll be suspicious if I was to ask. Was it for parents only, or grandparents as well? Or siblings too? It’s crazy they ask if you’re related to the father 😳
I think it was just parents but doesn't matter too much if you don't know can always speak about things later

Apparently being related is more common than you think 🤔

PumpkinEverything · 04/11/2020 21:03

Thank you, that’s reassuring @123feraverto I had considered telling my mum before the appointment, but now that that’s only a few days ago I don’t feel ready to share. I just want to make sure everything’s okay before we tell people. I know she would be suspicious for sure if I was to ask anything at all!

Scarftown · 04/11/2020 22:46

It’s @Happy2be you need to message about Facebook.

PinkPlantCase · 05/11/2020 09:37

Is anyone else absolutely knackered? I could genuinely sleep all day.

MegAndNick062021 · 05/11/2020 10:02

@PinkPlantCase

Yes! Been going to bed so early and still taking naps as well if I can. I find lack of sleep the main trigger for nausea and generally feeling rough!
Garman · 05/11/2020 10:07

Yes, I've been waking up with terrible sweats, constantly exhausted. Last night I went to bed at 7pm! Instead of my usual 10.30-11pm, and I actually woke up feeling human at 6am. None of it is helped by dc2 who is a terrible sleeper recently! Exhausted doesn't cover it.

PumpkinEverything · 05/11/2020 10:27

I’ve found myself feeling tired earlier on in the evening, as in I’m nearly falling asleep on the sofa at around 9pm, when I normally go to bed at 11. There was a while before I was pregnant that I needed a nap after work, but since finding out I’ve actually been fine.
I gave up coffee when I found out as even though I know you’re allowed some anyway, I’m really quite sensitive to caffeine and only ever allowed myself 1 cup a day, and it had to before lunch time. If I ever had a morning coffee and then had something like a Diet Coke with my dinner, I would barely sleep that night, that’s how bad it is 😂
Since swapping to decaf I actually feel waaaaay better than I ever realised. I don’t feel as tired or groggy all the time, and my head feels clearer? I also feel like I’m less anxious than I would have been before for no reason. So I think all of this has definitely helped with me feeling less tired!
I haven’t given up chocolate as I feel like the caffeine in that is much less, and I don’t feel guilty about the amount I eat some days :)

AlRRRR · 05/11/2020 10:43

I feel to tired and sick and I’ve got a 3.5 yr old so trying to manage that! Feeling bad about the amount of films I’m allowing her to watch whilst i lay down beside her!

Whywontitname · 05/11/2020 10:57

Hi all!

Please can I join? I’m about 7+4 from the NHS due date calculator and due 20th June!

Just wondering when people have their appointments? I don’t have my booking in appointment till the 25th when I’ll be 10+4 so worrying slightly about when my scan will be as it seems fairly late.

I’m in Leeds btw.

lucieloos · 05/11/2020 11:20

Hi @Whywontitname I'm 7 weeks today. I have my booking appt over the phone next Wednesday and they will then give me details to book in my 12 week scan. Hopefully once you've had your appt you can get your scan booked in straight away.

I'm really struggling with the constant nausea and wretching now. It's constant 24/7 and really getting me down. I've tried cyclizine tablets but they haven't helped at all.

AlRRRR · 05/11/2020 11:22

@Whywontitname I’m in Wakefield, and have my booking in next Thursday when I’ll be 7 + 5 days, so nearly 8 weeks. It’s by phone though, and I assume they’ll then send me in for bloods and urine.

I had my first in 2017, so much different

Waitingforbabypage · 05/11/2020 12:06

I'm beyond exhausted.
My b12 is super low, I'm anaemic and low on vits c+d. I signed myself off work, but now I'm on furlough for 4 weeks. I do the school run, then nap when I get home, do some house work, nap, the school pick up, tea, bedtime for the kids and then I'm for bed myself.
It's such a struggle. My poor oh has started to work from home for a bit to help me out until I have a course of b12 injections. 😴😴😴

AlRRRR · 05/11/2020 12:21

@Waitingforbabypage How did you find out your vitb12 deficient, are you a veggie or vegan?

I’m a veggie (no meat or fish) Have small amounts of cheese and butter though. In my last pregnancy I had a serious Iron issue and was nearly banned from
the birth centre! This time I’m taking an array of vitimins!

AlRRRR · 05/11/2020 12:23

I also have a morning smoothie with flaxseed and chia seeds, Kale, spinach, carrots, banana, orange, apple and figs as I can’t stomach any veg and i practically lived off it before pregnancy!!

PumpkinEverything · 05/11/2020 12:38

I’m veggie too @AIRRRR and I’m a bit concerned too! What vitamins are you taking? I’m taking pregnacare and trying to eat weetabix.
I bought frozen spinach to make smoothies but then realised the one I usually like as yoghurt in it which may stop be absorbing iron

Waitingforbabypage · 05/11/2020 12:51

@AlRRRR I suffer from migraines, had one a few weeks ago that actually rendered me a bit paralysed on one side of my body- terrifying!! That teamed with my exhaustion was raising some questions.
So they were purposefully checked my b12 along with a few other things.
I'm not a veggie or vegan but I actually don't eat a lot of meat anyway (even less these days because I just don't want it, I would eat potato or plain pasta for every meal if you let me 😂)

Northernlass101 · 05/11/2020 13:08

@PinkPlantCase literally falling sleep at 9pm 🥴 I'm bloody exhausted thank god for home office so I can nap 😴 honestly how you ladies do it I do not know I would be sleeping in the loos 🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴

Also waking up everyday to a new spot 🙄

AlRRRR · 05/11/2020 13:16

@PumpkinEverything I’m taking
2 Vegums
2 iron vegums
1 optimum multivitamin from barefoot nutirtion
2 Nothing fishy omega 3 capsules

All organic and without additives and fillers x

swiftt · 05/11/2020 13:16

I’m 9ish weeks today and feeling worryingly good today?! My boobs are still achey and heavy, but I don’t feel sick and I’m not as tired and groggy feeling as I have been either. I have a private scan booked for Sunday, but now I’m concerned!

AlRRRR · 05/11/2020 13:18

@PumpkinEverything

I never add yoghurt to smoothies even though I eat a vegan one from Nush. I always add 3 types on potassium based veg alongside vit C for max consumption because atm I can’t eat ANY beg, cooked or raw as food. The smoothie seems to be accepted for my nausea

Penny2020 · 05/11/2020 15:24

@swiftt I think I read somewhere that the placenta kicks in from 9-11 weeks, which then means your hormones settle down and nausea can reduce.
I seem to have the opposite problem, I was 10 weeks yesterday and having had very minimal nausea throughout the first 10 weeks yesterday was the worst I have ever felt. I could barely get out of bed. I think my body is confused

Bs93 · 05/11/2020 16:14

I get like this, I had a good day on Tuesday and worried but then kept having waves of feeling horrible yesterday. Today has been better again but tomorrow will probably be bad too! Hormones fluctuate and I think it’s normal to have good and bad days, I worry too, it’s a strange feeling actually wanting to feel sick isn’t it!
Bs93 · 05/11/2020 16:15

Everyone talking about vitamins and smoothies and I’m surviving on coco pops and beige food 🙈 not my usual diet at all but trying not to worry about it, as long as I’m eating something!

AlRRRR · 05/11/2020 16:25

@Bs93 I can just about manage smoothies, everything else turns my stomach! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Whatever you can eat, eat I say, I read somewhere that the reason why woman go off food and onto plain/ beige food is nature protecting the growing baby before it develops the placenta xx
