Anyone had spotting and it be good? TMI but I had some light brown discharge with a spot of red blood then on next trip to toilet after a little of pink spotting this was last night I've had nothing since but noticed all my symptoms have gone within 24 hours of it. Been told by epu to just test in a weeks time to see if I'm still pregnant or not and not to come in. Feeling really let down by them especially after my first miscarriage in April I thought I would've got more than that being 7 weeks+. Anyone have anything similar I feel like I'm stuck in limbo waiting

AlRRRR · 04/11/2020 09:48

I did have brown spotting and some odd red bits when I had my first. It started few days after positive test and continue until 8 weeks. I also had cramping.

An early scan at 6 weeks showed heartbeat and also they said it was going to be a mis-carriage (i was in portugal and they were a bit harsh).

I just came back to the UK and booked in with midwife and no one ever checked anything until 12 week scan haha.

Could you get an early scan and pay for it, ultrasounds direct do one for about £80 i think?

AlRRRR · 04/11/2020 09:50

@GeeHO98 I just checked and they are £70, and you can take a partner :)

PumpkinEverything · 04/11/2020 10:05

Good luck @charlottebs1988 and @DLHJune24 please check in afterwards and let us know how you get on!
Mine is on Friday evening and my anxiety is slowly creeping up the closer it gets, and I know I’m going to be passed myself with worry by the time it gets here 😔

GeeHO98 · 04/11/2020 10:32

@AlRRRR I've checked there's none for the next few weeks close to me I have one booked already but that's in 3 weeks time was earliest I could get but thank you it's just rubbish isn't it my doctors said Epu would tell me to go straight in if I rang but instead got fobbed off to test in a week at home just disappointed I guess didn't think this would happen to me again

AlRRRR · 04/11/2020 10:44

@GeeHO98 Can you go back to dr’s and ask him to push for a referral,

GeeHO98 · 04/11/2020 10:47

@AlRRRR they said they don't refer they just tell you to ring Epu if it's bleeding etc I couldn't get past the receptionist she said they're understaffed today but I've just heard I've got my first midwife appointment by phone tomorrow so I'll mention it to her and see if there's anything she can do

AlRRRR · 04/11/2020 10:49

@GeeHO98 Oh yes, she’ll get you in!!!!

GeeHO98 · 04/11/2020 11:01

@AlRRRR fingers crossed they're all been uptight with covid but I'm hoping she'll have mercy on me aha can't think of anything worse than waiting a week to know again

brownie100 · 04/11/2020 11:21

Hi ladies, I have literally just come back from the EPU after spotting since Friday. They did an ultrasound scan and every thing was fine, even saw a little heartbeat. I'm measuring at 6+1 which is slightly less than what I thought. None the less, I am so relived as I had geared myself up for the worst!
The nurse said there's a number of reason why you can spot/bleed. So don't give up hope. Let's us know how you get on.Smile

Quiptic · 04/11/2020 11:27

I’ve also had brown spotting as well as some period type pain. Phoned my GP who referred me to the EPU but they wouldn’t see me as I’d previously had a reassurance scan so know it’s not ectopic. They just said go to A&E if I get very bad pain or heavy bleeding. I’m really hating the waiting.

PumpkinEverything · 04/11/2020 11:28

Aw, glad to hear everything was okay @brownie100 and I’m sure it was so nice to see the heart beat 😁

Waitingforbabypage · 04/11/2020 11:37

Morning all, can I join in?
I thought I was 12 weeks today but apparently we all got the dates suuuuper wrong and I'm only 9 weeks. Had a scan this morning, all looking good and healthy, just smaller than we expected 😂 don't know how the dates we're so incorrect.
Ah well, it was nice to see the little wriggly bean.

Penny2020 · 04/11/2020 12:01

@GeeHO98 I’ve had spotting with both pregnancies, both quite similar in experience and with the first it quickly progressed to lots more bleeding and cramping and sadly then miscarriage. But this time it was just one day of spotting, and then nothing and we saw a heartbeat a week later. So sadly I don’t think you can make any assumptions, so only a scan can tell you more. What I would say is I assumed spotting meant miscarriage but after a lot (and I mean a lot!) of Googling it sounds like it’s far more common to have spotting than not, so easier said than done but best thing to do is be patient. I’m annoyed about your EPU response - do they do scans if you just show up? We have a walk-in here and no questions asked, it would be a great reassurance I’m sure.

PumpkinEverything · 04/11/2020 12:29

Hi @Waitingforbabypage ! 😊 it’s good everything is looking fine 😁 will you get another scan at 12 weeks to check everything, or do they not offer another?

Northernlass101 · 04/11/2020 12:33

Ladies .... has anyone lost interest in sex?

I'm 7 weeks now and since I found we've had sex maybe 2/3 times.

I just really can't be bothered I don't have the urge feeling sorry for him like I should make an effort.

Waitingforbabypage · 04/11/2020 12:33

Hey @PumpkinEverything, I have another scan booked in for the 27th nov. I'm a slightly older mum (only 35!) so they would like to do all the screenings- and bubs needs to be a certain size.
I'm looking forward to seeing everything again.

How's everyone doing? I'll take a bit of time in a bit to read and catch up on everyone. X

AnnaPosie · 04/11/2020 12:47

@Northernlass101

Me!! completely !! I'm just too tired and naseous ! Maybe it will feel better in trimester 2 but right now nope and I don't feel guilty about that, like we are doing something so amazing and have to put ourselves first ! It's only temporary 🙂

AnnaPosie · 04/11/2020 12:49

@Waitingforbabypage
I am the same, I think I ovulated later so I'm 3 weeks behind what I thought originally but I've still been called to the hospital next week for 12 week scan even though I'll only be 9 weeks, I explained to the doctor but she said it's fine and just to go next week anyway and they will book me in for an extra scan when I am 12 weeks

PumpkinEverything · 04/11/2020 12:50

Ah that’s exciting @Waitingforbabypage 😊 not long to wait then. I ask as I’m 6+5, but if they go by my LMP I’d be 8+5, so I wonder if they’re persistent enough to only take my LMP would I get my scan too early and then not get another one! Trying not to get ahead of myself as it’s still so long away, but I can’t help it 😂🙈

ladymary86 · 04/11/2020 13:10

@Northernlass101
I wouldn't say I've gone off sex. I'm feeling so nauseous all the time that it's just not possible. It's more frustrating than anything just now!

GeeHO98 · 04/11/2020 13:14

@Penny2020 last time I just went to my hospital's emergency department and got onto epu that way but as we were in the first lockdown then they wouldn't give me a scan and just did blood tests to confirm my miscarriage this time I rang and got told not to come in but to phone back if it gets worse etc im going to see what my midwife says tomorrow hopefully she can be of more help

AlRRRR · 04/11/2020 13:17

@PumpkinEverything Don’t they always go on your Lmp because they don’t know when you ovulate so when you miss your 1st period and you get a positive test, you’re 4 weeks pregnant but in reality you’re on 2 as first 2 were before you ovulated and got pregnant. It’s always confused me!

Penny2020 · 04/11/2020 13:20

@GeeHO98 fingers crossed your midwife is more helpful then, I appreciate everyone is busy and they need to limit admittance but it just leaves you in such a horrible state - hoping you can get a bit of peace this afternoon and find out more tomorrow.
@Northernlass101 this is 100% me. I’m in bed hours before he joins and I just feel my worst in the evenings and morning so he doesn’t stand a chance. Also with the burping and constipation i don’t exactly feel very sexy!

GeeHO98 · 04/11/2020 13:24

@Penny2020 hopefully & thank you
