Is the lockdown going to change when any of you tell your families? I have an early scan booked for Thursday and planned on telling my parents in their back garden next weekend about the pregnancy when I’m 8+3 and would have hopefully seen a heartbeat.

Now I’m sure whether to wait until the end of the lockdown and so until after my 12 week scan.

I could still meet up with my mum for a walk under the rules but I’m not sure if the context if it all will upset her. She gets very worried about lockdowns as she’s self employed and won’t be allowed to work under the new restrictions.

I don’t know if it would just give her an extra thing to worry about. This would be her first grandchild.

Scarftown · 01/11/2020 08:25

I am seeing my mum and sister today. Luckily now there is a lockdown. I have decided to tell them. I’m 7+ ? Weeks and I think that will cheer them both up. My scan is 30th but decided not to wait.

Garman · 01/11/2020 08:40

Hi all, I don't think I've posted here as I think I've just found it but could be confused Grin I'm 6+1 with dc3, have a private scan booked for a few days time to confirm if there's a heartbeat/healthy pregnancy growing. Feeling fine, I was nauseous week 4-5 (got bfp at 10dpo but absolutely knew from implantation) but I'm hoping I'll get away lightly this time, I was nauseous up to birth with my first, not fun!

DLHJune24 · 01/11/2020 08:44

I was supposed to be spending next weekend with my mum and was going to tell her but now those plans can’t go ahead (I live 3hrs away from my mum) I think I’m just going to wait until after lockdown and 12week scan.
Scan should be around 2nd week of Dec so I’m really hoping my husband can still come to the scan!

SarahTTC2020 · 01/11/2020 08:49

Yeah so we are having a scan this morning, and then going to my parents for dinner on weds to tell them (I'm medium tier). We are hoping to visit mil the weekend after to tell her but she lives 2 hours away so will have to be a facetime thing.
Both my parents have been made redundant recently so hoping to give them happy news of a first grandchild!

SarahTTC2020 · 01/11/2020 08:50

Also expecting that lockdown will.mean DH can't come to NHS scan 😭

SarahTTC2020 · 01/11/2020 11:41

Here's my little 8wk 4d blob, it gave a cute little wriggle in there and could see a heartbeat. Great experience actually at window to the womb

ChasingARainbow · 01/11/2020 12:23

@SarahTTC2020 brilliant, I had one last week at 7 weeks and 1 day and really pleased we did, it's so lovely to see the little heart beat and gives some reassurance 😊

PinkPlantCase · 01/11/2020 13:07

@SarahTTC2020 Awh!! A very beautiful blob with legs and arms and everything Smile. Did the scanning place mention whether they’d still be open in the lockdown?

DLHJune24 · 01/11/2020 13:35

@SarahTTC2020 aww! Such a lovely clear photo. So pleased for you.

PumpkinEverything · 01/11/2020 13:39

@SarahTTC2020 aw that’s so cute! I bet you were so pleased 😊 I’ve actually booked through window to womb as well for this Friday. Can I ask if it was transvaginal you got? When I booked a message came up to say that’s what the nhs usually recommends for before 12 weeks. It’s making me a bit nervous for some reason!

lucieloos · 01/11/2020 13:52

@PumpkinEverything I've had lots of early scans and I've never had a trans vaginal one. You should be fine after 7 weeks. I had one of the nhs at 7+4 and that was external too.

PumpkinEverything · 01/11/2020 13:57

@lucieloos thank you 😊 I have predicted myself that I’ll be 7 weeks the day of my scan, but if they go by my LMP it’ll have me at 9 weeks + a few day’s as I have irregular cycles.

curiouscat1987 · 01/11/2020 15:27

@GeeHO98

Has anyone booked an early gender scan yet? I know it's really early but I never had any private scans with my daughter & really want one this time around, I've noticed there booking up already and worried I won't get one if I wait. Anyone else?
We've booked a NIPT test to confirm the sex, it's on 12 Nov so not much longer to wait. It's expensive but essentially 100% correct as it's a blood test!
AnnaPosie · 01/11/2020 15:38

@PumkinEverything I had a scan at 7 weeks and it was just the gel on my tummy!

GeeHO98 · 01/11/2020 15:38

@curiouscat1987 I've heard of them on here but not positive what they are exactly is it to check for abnormalities? & how much is yours if you don't mind me asking I've heard they are a few hundred

AnnaPosie · 01/11/2020 15:48

@SarahTTC2020

Awh that will be fab news for your parents ☺️
I hope your OH can attend the scan, no partners have been able to attend scans in hospitals here in Ireland since March so it will be the same for my OH, but he did get to go to the private early scan so it was nice to have him there for the first

PumpkinEverything · 01/11/2020 16:43

I am sooo nervous for my appointment on Friday. Part of me wishes I’d had it sooner, but I wanted to wait until Friday so I’d be 7 weeks. I’m just convincing myself something is going to be wrong or I was never pregnant to begin with 🙈I think it’s worse because I still don’t feel like I have many symptoms. I’ve been a little bit tired, but nothing more than normal. Other than that I’ve just had one and off day’s of being bloated and gassy, and that is absolutely it! The next 5 day’s is going to drag in.

Does anyone else feel like they’re not actually pregnant due to lack of symptoms?

Rodri83 · 01/11/2020 16:58

I’ve had no symptoms other than slightly sore boobs around week 7 which didn’t last very long , I’m 11 weeks on Tuesday so will actually be due end of May but thought will probs be beginning of June so jumped on the thread ,

GeeHO98 · 01/11/2020 17:01

@PumpkinEverything I'm exactly the same I've just done my last spare test just to reassure myself I am actually pregnant aha I never felt pregnant with my daughter either in the beginning so I wouldn't worry over it hopefully it's a good thing that we've hardly had any of the nasty symptoms

Finallybfp · 01/11/2020 17:09

I haven’t been on here for a few weeks , me and my partner went for private scan last Sunday 25th at window to the womb , the staff were amazing I was so nervous and the week leading upto the scan I kept thinking am I still pregnant etc as my symptoms had reduced loads. I had to have the internal scan as I was earlier then 10weeks, they said internal was best for me at the stage I’m at, which I felt a bit uncomfortable in having but Straight away when the scan came on the screen the women reassured me straight away by saying congratulations you have a baby , we also got to see a very strong heartbeat. I thought I was 8 weeks 3 days but they seem to think I’m 8weeks 5 days from babies measurements . I would highly recommend early scans for reassurance Smile. Just waiting for my letter in the post for my 12 week scan now from nhs.

Finallybfp · 01/11/2020 17:13

Here is my little 8week 5 days early scan. It was such an amazing Experience.

Yes its a blood test for downs syndrome and a couple of other similar genetic conditions as well as sex. Ours is £450 but that includes a scan too as you have to have had a scan and my nhs one is later than it should be!

Minnildn · 01/11/2020 18:20

Hi everyone. New to the thread. Found out a few weeks ago that we're pregnant. Nausea started about 5ish weeks and is still going strong. Was horrible 6-7 and still pretty bad right now at 8+5. Have been prescribed Cyzlazine and Gaviscon. Cyclazine doesn't help much but having Gaviscon right after eating something helps keep it down. I'm bed bound most of the time. I work from home which is a godsend but I really feel so guilty for not being able to give it my 100%. Hats off to you ladies commuting, have children or other non negotiable responsibilities. DH has been great too. If it wasn't for him, I probably would be eating anything because I'm so afraid of throwing up. Sorry for the rant!! I just have no one else to share this with.

PumpkinEverything · 01/11/2020 18:33

Ah so cute @Finallybfp I’m sure that was such a relief to see! Can I ask what the internal scan felt like? I’m imagining it to be like a smear test but worse for some reason and I don’t know if that’s right or not 😂
