Bleubird · 29/10/2020 08:03

@Happy2be oh no I haven't, I'll definitely give them a try. Hope you're feeling better soon, good idea to take some time off to rest.

bex757 · 29/10/2020 08:50

I'm still struggling with hyperemesis gravidarum but I'm slowly getting better- yesterday I wasn't sick at all, but am finding the nausea worse now I'm on 3 different type of anti sickness!

AnnemarieJune · 29/10/2020 10:59

I'm sorry to hear you all feel so crappy Sad. When did it start for you? It will get better though! I've read ginger might help, but I'm sure you already tried all the things. Hang in there!

Aokbaby · 29/10/2020 11:41

hi ladies, currently 5 +5 weeks pregnant, due 27th June 2021. Got positive pregnancy test last Thursday and have done 2 others just to confirm. Since about Sunday I've been having brown spotting, only when I wipe. Slightly more red this morning when I went to loo first but no cramping, which im taking as a good sign. I called my GP on tues who said to monitor and get in touch if it becomes worse. Constantly feel like period is about to start everything I go to loo. I am driving myself crazy googling if this is normal, can someone please help?! Has anyone experienced this before?

PinkPlantCase · 29/10/2020 12:08

@Aokbaby you could ring the early pregnancy unit at your local hospital, they might be more helpful than the GP? Hope everything settles down for you!

Aokbaby · 29/10/2020 12:21

Thanks @PinkPlantCase just rang them there, they didn't seem too concerned and said what I described is normal. Advised to contact GP for early scan referral. Cannot stop crying, hormones are haywire!!

milly159 · 29/10/2020 16:07

@aokbaby I had the same at about 5+2, mine was red but then went brown everytime I wiped too. Had some cramping as well. I went to the EPU and at first they couldn't see anything, so they took my bloods, which were 6000 and asked me to come back in 2 days for another lot of bloods. They said if it doubled I was still pregnant, if it stay the same its ectopic and if they dropped I had miscarriaged. Luckily they doubled to 12000 and they called me in the next day for a scan where they found the baby and thankfully the heartbeat. If you are really worried go to the EPU but I think if its brown and there's no clots its normal. Google is the worse and so conflicting.
I do hope everything is OK (which I'm sure it is) xx keep us posted

bex757 · 29/10/2020 16:17

I'm back in hospital with severe nausea again!

SarahTTC2020 · 29/10/2020 16:38

@bex757 you poor thing! Big hugs

Aokbaby · 29/10/2020 16:51

@milly159 thanks so much for getting back to me. I spoke with GP who referred me for early scan, getting it done tomorrow. I'll only be 5+6 then so really hoping they're able to see something, then at least I'll know. I thought I may have had a uti so collected urine in a jar for testing and it looked like tea leaves floating in it, again dark brown in colour. That's whats concerning me too, old Google told me it could be old blood from the wall where the embryo has burrowed but I would have thought it would be a bit late for that? Have you had any spotting since? How far on are you now? Will do, thanks x

Dragonfly92 · 29/10/2020 16:54

@Aokbaby I completely sympathise with you on this. I'm 6+6 and had a bit of brown spotting at 5 weeks (literally once when I went to the loo) and a whole day of light brown spotting at 6+1. I've had dull cramping since 4 weeks too. Rang my local maternity advice line and was told it can be quite common in early pregnancy. Could be implantation bleeding. You can also get 'phantom' bleeding around time of period too.

It's so hard not to get upset about it. I was in tears the first time, but ride it out. I was told if it gets worse to ring them back and they could refer me to EPU. They were never too concerned with just very light spotting. Hope this gives a bit of reassurance.

Aokbaby · 29/10/2020 17:01

Thanks @Dragonfly92 its so hard not to worry isn't it. Maybe tmi but the EPU nurse asked me how many pads I was filling and I felt a bit embarrassed as its really mainly there when I wipe. She didnt seem worried and thought it was normal. With it being my first pregnancy I've no idea whats normal and isn't normal for my body, so I'm scared of every bloomin thing! Have been crying all day too, so emotional and I never usually am. Hopefully it will be good news tomorrow x

northerngal20 · 29/10/2020 17:11

Hey @Aokbaby welcome and sorry to hear you're feeling so stressed! it's awful isn't it the not knowing. Do you have any pain?
I had quite a bit of brown spotting from just before my BFP at 4 weeks (so much i actually thought my period was here) to 5+2, it was every time i went to the loo when i wiped - there was also the odd bit of pink/orange in there too! I called the EPU about it at the time and they weren't too concerned, so i just put it down to implantation. I've had some pain in one side the past two days so called them again today (i'm 6+2 now) and they asked me to come in for a scan -- fortunately all was well, it was just the corpus luteum aching, and there was a tiny flicker of a heartbeat, so hopefully all will be well!

fife28 · 29/10/2020 17:13

Hi! Just wanted to say i had this too and it was when my usual period would have been, apparently it is breakthrough bleeding? I am 9 weeks now but been v anxious about losing this baby for some reason. Symptoms this time are very mild compared to my 1st, only real symptom is hunger (i feel sick unless i eat pretty much every 2 hours!) and tired. Trying to stay positive but easier said than done! Wouldnt it be nice if there was a window to just check all was okay

Aokbaby · 29/10/2020 17:21

@fife28 @northergal20 thanks for your supportive comments, tearing up reading them-thats how emotional I am!! It is such a stressful time especially as you can't talk to anyone about it other than DH, who has been good but if he tells me to stop stressing/worrying one more time I'm gonna crack up.
I've had some cramping on sun/mon and Tues but the GP I.spoke with on Tues said this is just hormonal and expected so I'm not to worry 🙈 no real cramping today and the discharge I had this morning was quite red when I first went to loo. Haven't had anything the past 2 trips thank goodness. x

Dragonfly92 · 29/10/2020 17:27

@Aokbaby It'ss so hard not to over analyse every littke thing your body is doing. It's my first too and it's so hard not to get carried away Googling! Nothing is TMI on here 🙈 mine was the same only when I wiped, even on the whole day of spotting. They only seem concerned if it is a lot.

northerngal20 · 29/10/2020 17:29

ahh @Aokbaby i know exactly what you mean! DH keeps telling me to live in the now - i know he's right but it's so hard to do! haha
Ok that's good - hopefully it will clear up on it's own, and all will be ok tomorrow! it's so hard this early on, it's just a bit of waiting game really. take care of yourself and try to have a nice evening tonight :)

Aokbaby · 29/10/2020 17:34

@Dragonfly92 can I ask do you usually get spotting before af? I always get at least 1 day of brown spotting before and after af, so maybe my uterus just expels old blood randomly? I'm hoping this is just all hormone related and the little tot is just getting well stuck in there!
Can I ask one more question and I know this is definitely tmi but is anyone experiencing any pain in their bottom? I was quite constipated, ok now but having the odd pain right in the bottom, I looked it up and its called lightning bottom or something to that effect?

Thanks @northerngal20 they do try-bless 'em, you too x

Dragonfly92 · 29/10/2020 17:51

@Aokbaby I don't tend to get spotting before af. Hopefully all just hormonal changes and increased blood flow to the area.

I've heard of lightning crotch but not experienced either. Hope it eases for you. Doesn't sound comfortable.

PumpkinEverything · 29/10/2020 18:17

Does anyone else feel like the days are going so slowly waiting to get to 12 weeks? I realised my app had the dates wrong and said I was further along than I was. I’ve now updated it but it feels like I’ve been in the 5 weeks period forever! I’ll be 6 weeks tomorrow and glad to finally have moved on a bit.
Considering booking a private scan for next weekend for reassurance as I have my booking appointment on the 9th and I’m so worried I’m going to go and they’re going to tell me I’m not pregnant or something.

BunAndOven · 29/10/2020 18:50

@PumpkinEverything yep!!! All of that!!
Before this the weeks and months would fly by, now they drag and drag and I count every day.

Think I'll join you in the reassurance scan thing (not literally, that would be weird) as 12 weeks is just so far away.

PumpkinEverything · 29/10/2020 19:06

Hahaa @BunAndOven a joint scan 😂 12 weeks seems like forever away. It’s crazy to think that before I got my BFP I thought Christmas was coming round so fast. And now that I’m basically counting down the days to mid December it seems like forever away.

Aokbaby · 29/10/2020 19:16

@PumpkinEverything yes!! Absolutely dragging! This week is the slowest ever!

milly159 · 29/10/2020 20:17

@Aokbaby I havent had spotting since but it did last nearly a week. I'm 8 weeks on Saturday.
Good luck for tomorrow, hopefully you'll get to see its little heartbeating 🥰
