@Bbdm1984 thank you for checking in :)
All ok here, I moved house over the weekend which was stressful and coincided with tiredness finally kicking in so I’ve been totally useless the last week. Poor husband has been an absolute hero and done so much. No more bleeding, thankfully, and no major symptoms other than tiredness so can’t complain really.
Still don’t have a 12 week scan date as I’ve just had to change hospitals which is making me a bit anxious but I just need to be patient.
How are you doing?

readyforroundtwo · 28/10/2020 08:29

@RLou3 my due date is also the 24th of June according to the NHS website! I've woken up today feeling sick. Gagged a few times but that's about it. Hopefully it doesn't hit me too hard, with DS I managed to dodge any sickness altogether!

Bs93 · 28/10/2020 11:15

Hi everyone, been catching up with the thread and good to see I’m not the only one feeling awful! The nausea, faintness and exhaustion are awful. I’ve also got bad diharrea too which is making me get up through the night, was awful last night as I nearly passed out with it and so much stomach pain. Went to GP today, I have ketones in my urine so really have to eat more, thing is nothing seems to digest properly. She had a feel of my tummy and isn’t worried
Got my booking appointment tomorrow and private scan Friday! Very nervous

Bbdm1984 · 28/10/2020 12:08

@Penny2020 wow massively stressful, are you having a private reassurance scans or just waiting for the 12wk one. I still havent self referred going to bite the bullet this weekend, i have just got to see my bean after having a bad night last night

Bbdm1984 · 28/10/2020 12:08

Well, i have had a horrible period ache since last night, not pain as such just a really dull achey, heavy period coming type feeling (due period today if i hadnt missed my last one) so i rang epu just for advice as havent self referred yet. She was lovely and said after all my mc's lets get you in just to have a look and see if everything is ok. I got to see my beautiful bean who has a very fast heartbeat and crl of 8.3mm, it even has little arm buds!... measuring 6w6d which is only 2 days behind what i thought so almost perfect. I cried like a baby when she showed me the heartbeat and she even showed me where the brain was forming... so amazing

@Bbdm1984 its so nice to see isn't it! Pleased for you. ❤️❤️

Northernlass101 · 28/10/2020 12:31

Tips for extreme tiredness because lord knows I'm struggling I wake up and then have a nap immediately most days. Eyes closing actually haven't driven in 3 weeks!

I've tried everhthing - having a ridiculous cold showers and a bowl of granola with bananas cold milk seems to keep me going for longer then usual. Going to start swimming in the morning my doctor said exercise in the morning is the way forward!

Bbdm1984 · 28/10/2020 12:37

@Northernlass101 so amazing, thankyou, i need to keep the grin off my face as kids will want to know what im so happy about and we're not telling anyone until christmas day

Aww wow you must be feeling over the moon 😊 pleased your scan went so well
Tatty1987 · 28/10/2020 12:57

@Bbdm1984 that’s great news! It’ll also be lovely to tell them Christmas Day, I’m just struggling to wait so long. Was this an abdominal or internal scan? I have a private one booked and I’ll be 6+6 so wondering what they’ll do

LisaLx · 28/10/2020 13:40

Hi ladies can I join? I'm due around the 30th June so exactly 5 weeks today. X

Bbdm1984 · 28/10/2020 13:55

@Bs93 thankyou, i am so relieved. @Tatty1987 it was an abdominal scan, i am a bigger girl with lots of belly fat so i am sure that you will be fine with an abdominal, im sure private clinics have much newer better equipment than nhs as well, it is so amazing to see. I now can't wait until the 20th november so my partner gets to experience it with me

Bbdm1984 · 28/10/2020 13:56

@LisaLx congratulations how are you feeling. Do you have any other children?

Bearandbee · 28/10/2020 14:02

@Northernlass101 I went for a run Monday morning and felt ok. Yesterday I didn’t and I felt tired and nauseous all day. Went out again this morning and feel ok again. I’m putting it down to the exercise...

Tigger1987 · 28/10/2020 14:21

Hi everyone. How are you all? I had my checking in appointment today. Bloods taken, BP, urine, weight and height the works but still have to have a 30 minute phone call regarding all the health questionnaire next week.

I am really suffering with sickness this time around. With my son (which was 4 years ago!) I felt sick but was never actually sick but this time it isn't good. I have an early scan later mainly so my husband can come as my health trust are still not letting anyone else in the scan room. I am really hoping the sickness eases soon.

AnnemarieJune · 28/10/2020 14:28

Hi everyone, so glad to find you all. I'm experiencing my first pregnancy and I'm about 5,5 weeks along.

Everything is and feels very new. I am originally from The Netherlands and living in London. That means the UK health system is still unfamiliar to me. I would love all your assistance in making my way through it.

Can I drop a question right now? Where and how do I schedule my first appointment? My GPs website only refers me to 2 hospitals that are quite far away. I did send in a self-referral to one of them, just to get something started. Is a hospital the only place to go? And are you only allowed to go to certain hospitals based on your location? Thanks for helping me here! :)

Penny2020 · 28/10/2020 14:50

@Bbdm1984 what an absolutely BEAUTIFUL picture, so happy for you to hear the heartbeat so strong. Amazing news, you must be thrilled! I did have a private scan too, a couple of weeks ago now. Also got to see a little heartbeat, to be honest I had been 100% ready to hear bad news so it was such a relief. I’ve just had my 12w scan letter this morning which is on 16th November, feel like that isn’t too far away so I can start the countdown. Just want these 12 weeks to be over to be honest

Penny2020 · 28/10/2020 14:53

Hi @AnnemarieJune and congratulations. I’ve just been through the London system so happy to help. The doctors aren’t too concerned with you at this early stage sadly, so everything needs to be done with the hospital. You’ve done the right thing which is to self refer, and soon your hospital will send you through a date for a Booking Appointment (with a midwife at the hospital to ask you a few questions about your health and family history) and then you’ll get a date for a scan and blood tests. For me they were slow getting the letters out, I waited at least 2 weeks for a booking appointment letter and about 4/5weeks before I got a scan date. If you have concerns or worries your best bet is to call the EPU at the hospital you’ve referred to. What is your local hospital, do you know?

AnnaPosie · 28/10/2020 15:59

@LisaLx hi Lisa, how are you finding pregnancy so far ? When did you find out ?

AnnemarieJune · 28/10/2020 17:39

Thank you, this is very helpful. How far along are you and everything ok so far?
I eventually managed to talk to one of the midwives today after trying several phone numbers (all auto-replies referring me back to the website :( ) Her answers reassured me that things are in place now. Im in Blackheath, so will be in Queen Elizabeth or Lewisham university hospital. You mentioned the EPU, what is that exactly?

BabyA2021 · 28/10/2020 21:05

Hi everyone,

I’m due in the 14th of June and this is my first pregnancy.
I’ve been well mostly but suffering from horrible morning sickness all day. I can’t seem to find any triggers, the only thing that seems to help is jakemans cough sweets. I’ve seen conflicting messages about menthol online.
Does anyone have any advice?

Penny2020 · 28/10/2020 21:14

@AnnemarieJune I’m 9 weeks today and so far all ok here, thank you.Doesn’t stop me worrying every second of the day, but I get the impression that’s going to be the norm for the next 18 years.
EPU is the Early Pregnancy Unit - usually where you go before 12 weeks if there are issues. But good you were able to speak to a midwife. I’ve been trying to cancel my 12w scan (as I’ve moved house so changed hospitals) and I’ve called probably a dozen times and nobody ever answers. I feel awful just not turning up but nobody ever picks up!!!

Bleubird · 28/10/2020 21:14

Hi @BabyA2021 congratulations! I'm suffering with nausea too, it seems to get worse around 4pm and into the evening. I've read about a few things that might help, such as ginger mints & supposedly the smell of lemon... I'm willing to try anything at the moment!

AnnemarieJune · 28/10/2020 22:09

@Penny2020 It is very off putting, the unanswered phones, sadly :( Im amazed to hear its not just me who experienced this. I eventually just called the Midwife 24h helpline since nothing else was available. I got through there, finally and was helped by a very nice woman. I'd say give that a try?

Happy2be · 28/10/2020 22:21

Ive still not had my booking in call yet. Hopefully in the next week or so. Just been signed off work for a bit because i fesl so crap 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Bleubird have you tried the seasick bands? They are meant to be good too for sickness and nausea x
