Can I please join? 😃

9 weeks today, with EDD of 06/05/2021.
Had my booking appointment today so pending scan letter with dates.
We had an early private scan at 6w due to previous ectopic and baby is in the right place and got to see their little heartbeat! 🥰

We've told my parents and siblings and both our best friends! And will wait until our scan to extend out the news.

Have I passed the acceptance test? Haha! Looking forward to sharing this journey with you!

Hi ladies, 6+2 here in FV. I am struggling to get much response from the booking team too but going to try and not worry too much. First baby for me, feeling like I have no idea what's going on right now! Feeling ok just now with some headaches and mild nausea so counting myself lucky for now.

@CardiganBlobby so glad it is not just me who is having issues with FV. I was starting to get a complex!

I am holding off getting excited until I have at least spoken to someone about an appointment

@Buffbeag I feel sick and tired all night. Its horrible

@GrandTheftWalrus aww I was hoping you might have some tips on how to help.

I have tried eating small meals throughout night but always end up feeling worse. Trying to eat fruit as apparently that helps

For the nausea, I've turned into a beige food eater! It's bad I know but it's the only thing I can stomach when feeling off!

I’ve pretty much lived on beige food the past few weeks.

I've not had many symptoms either. Sore boobs and insomnia. Been spotting since yesterday, called the midwife who said its common at 6 weeks and not too worry - easy said. Started a new role at work yesterday too, just to add to all the fun 😂

@TheDaydreamBelievers thanks for managing this all you are doing a super job 👌🏻 I am feeling pretty rough this morning, just got the wee one out to school it's my non working day so I am in 2 minds to stay in pjs and veg or do something productive like go and buy some Halloween decorations 😂 I need to settle my mind is going about 400miles I have in my head decorated babies room, chose my pram, names etc 😂 my hubby has told his sister and mum as his sister has her wedding booked for 9 days after due date and I have told my boss as I took a couple of days of after 1st scan when I thought it hadn't been a viable pregnancy but I am being positive now 💕 I haven't told my mum as I am only child and my dad left my mum when I was weeks old and it's just been me and her and although we are super close I would not want her to be worrying about me being worried so want to tell her when I know for certain everything is okay! Hope everyone has a great day, my hubby is off this weekend so we are going to have a nice family weekend 💕

So my bleeding has got quite heavy with some clots. I'm now booked in for a scan on Monday and told to rest all weekend. Trying to stay positive but not looking good.

Can you go in any earlier?

Report
Kamiros · 02/10/2020 12:54

They said only if I'm soaking through a pad every hour which I'm not. Don't suppose it will change the outcome but its going to be the longest weekend of my life.

Maybe this is normal and I’m just annoyed for no reason but I find it quite crap that as a first time mum.
I had a booking in appointment over the phone and then that’s it till 12 weeks scan.

3 months of no contact with anyone, no blood tests, no blood pressure checks..nothing.

I feel left to my own devices, and not how I imagined it would be being pregnant at first.

Report
ScottishStardust · 02/10/2020 15:38

So sorry to hear this @Kamiros - try rest up over the weekend.

I think with or without covid contact prior to 12 weeks is very limited - maybe bar booking in appointment. I'm also a FTM but luckily folk within our 'circle of trust' have all had babies or pregnant themselves so we can bounce things off them.

My symptoms have decreased since hitting the 9w mark which reading is kind of normal as the placenta starts to take over then? I'm sure I'll still be hit with something outta the blue soon!

Report
singleandttc · 02/10/2020 15:45

@Kamiros so sorry to hear that. I've got everything crossed for you.

@Fruitloops34 there's really not much support for the first few months. It's a really anxious time for pregnant women so it's really rubbish. With my first I was really surprised at how little support there is throughout. It was almost 7 years ago, but I never saw the same midwife twice and never got any real advice from them about my HG or anything. I found the post birth breastfeeding advice awful too. I kept being told different things by different midwives and it totally stressed me out. This time I'm just going to trust myself more and not stress too much about their advice or lack of.

Hey,

I'm 27 and just found out that I'm pregnant today!
I'm 4 weeks on the dot.

Getting a phone call from my midwife on the 12th of October.
A little bit nervous as I feel like I want something official to confirm my test isn't lying to me, hahaha.

We are all on an exciting journey just now. Glad to be here with you all.

@Fruitloops34 it never used to be like this in NHS A&A, I was a high risk pregnancy so maybe that's why I saw my midwife more first time around.

Everything was booked through my GP surgery and I saw her every 3-4 weeks.

This time round I'm feeling very much abandoned by the NHS now that it's all gone through a central booking system. I can't even get a date of when a midwife will call me. If I hadn't had bloods done for something else the week before my BFP and then called my GP to say I was pregnant then it wouldn't have been picked up that I'm anemic.

I also think it must mean a lot of vulnerable women are missed. I remember my midwife asking if I suffered from DV. Now luckily I didn't and I don't but I imagine if you did it wouldn't be picked up as easily by a telephone call.

Absolutely hear you @Fruitloops34 and feel the same. I appreciate they cant really intervene in fidat 12 weeks in terms of miscarriage etc but cant believe theres no intervention to 1) check women are following early pregnancy advice and 2) support women who believe themselves to be pregnant but actually there is another difficulty (for example ectopic)

Ps I decided to have a relaxing bath tonight and fully poured it to match my internal body temp so as to be 100% safe. It feels blooming chilly and not relaxing

Think that's me out now as I have passed tissue this morning. Can't imagine a positive outcome after that. Incredibly sad. Wishing you all lots of luck and love.
