Just wondering if there is anyone else about at 32 weeks that fancy comparing symptoms and looking out for signs of labour in a couple of months!

I know there are a couple of threads about for babies due each month but they seem so well established now it wouldn't feel right to try and get in on the action of them.

So just seeing if there are any other lurckers like me about 😁

I'm in a slightly similar boat re: section timing. I'm booked in for a section at 36+1 but if growth slows it'll be brought forward and if I bleed (placenta praevia) it'll be immediate. Still doesn't really seem real that I'll be having a baby this month, not next.

I hate going to the growth scans alone too, seems unfair now partners are allowed to the 12 and 20wk scans (which we missed out on). I had some unexpected news at the last one and it was a bit much to take on my own. So far baby has been measuring nice and big, but the pressure is on to maintain the same trajectory.

My next scan is tomorrow, so just hoping nothing much has changed (other than him getting bigger) - not sure I can handle more complications!

Bluebell2020 · 06/10/2020 10:33

@Champoopapi Absolutely! For some reason I thought I would go over and she would be a December baby so I would really like her to stay put. But obviously if it's better for her to come early then that's fine too. It's definitely a scary experience. I have heard quite a lot of people say their babies were predicted as small though and then actually came out at a very average size so really hoping that's the case!

Really hope your twins stay put for a little longer. How exciting that you've got two little ones to look forward to!!! x

Bluebell2020 · 06/10/2020 10:36

@Pukeymama It's so frustrating. I get that we're in a local lockdown here but still a Dad should get to be there for his new baby. Sadly that's the rule at our hospital at the minute. Dads only allowed in when you're in establish labour and that includes if you have to stay over being induced. So rubbish! x

ChampooPapi · 06/10/2020 10:37

@Bluebell2020 it's incredibly exciting! And just a bit terrifying! Two babies...how does that work 😆
When is your next scan then? Sorry if I missed it in your last post, my brain is kind of mush now. Mines in a week so countdown begins

Bluebell2020 · 06/10/2020 10:49

@Relfm I really hope your scan goes well today.

So frustrating with the scans. I'm so happy for all the people that can have their partners at the routine ones but at the same time I feel like the reason you have growth scans and extra scans is because there could be something wrong. So why partners aren't allowed to scans where there is a potential for bad news or massive decisions to be made is beyond me xx

Bluebell2020 · 06/10/2020 10:57

@ChampooPapi Terrifying with just one so I can imagine it's double with two on the way! Although it also means you get double the amount of joy and happiness that they will definitely bring!

Ah my next scan is on Friday... this week is already going very very slow. Doesn't help by the fact I'm working from home and haven't been in my usual job role since March 😩 I really miss doing my normal job and sitting at a laptop all day every single day is mind numbing and definitely not for me! x

ChampooPapi · 06/10/2020 11:07

@Bluebell2020 that does sound grim, at this point in pregnancy it's not ideal for the mind which is wandering and tired anyway! I haven't been aloud my partner to our scans either, just the twenty week one, though it's our third and fourth so I've been in a more confident position then a first time mum or couple. But I do totally agree, all mine the past 6 weeks have been two weekly and for growth or excess fluid and I've been solo.

For you though it really is slightly different again because you baby is even smaller (by their calculations) and there is only one so you will be more concerned, with two you expect them to be smaller, there is two squeezed in so it's more expected and the norm.

Your a first time mother, totally adrift with this as your on your own at every appointment, all the information feels hard to process and you don't have that 'advocate' with you of a birthing partner or husband, or even a friend, to just help ask the questions you may not have thought of or are too overwhelmed to ask. It must have been really difficult for you, you will sure be happy to be over this pregnancy and onto baby times, this pregnancy pretty much sucks, I think it's the same for a lot of us so just keep trucking on one day at a time, only 3 more sleeps untill your scan. You could possibly just take your husband in with you? Even though it says not to I think a fair few woman have been aloud on the day, especially if you say it's an important growth scan where your very concerned about bad news and feeling wobbly, there is a high chance he will actually be let in.

I did this for one of mine and he was granted entry to the scan 🙌

Figey · 06/10/2020 12:09

@Bluebell2020 I’m due on 30 November, with baby measuring below the 10th percentile and breech!

I can definitely relate to the scan anxiety and count down the days to my next scan. I’m finding it really hard when people at work ask me how the baby is. I know that they’re just looking for a happy/excited response, which I can’t give at the moment. I’m just trying to take it day by day and I’m grateful for every kick!!

DueNumberTwo · 06/10/2020 12:48

@Relfm that sounds really hard, I hope your scan goes well. Flowers

I've been swimming this morning (one bonus of dh working from home, he can watch DS for an hour while I swim), we've just finished lunch now. Going to cut DS hair which he really hates so wish me luck! Then we'll go to the park after that. He would stay at the park for hours if there are other kids there, I feel bad that my bladder usually forces us to go home after 90 minutes Grin

Hope you're all having a nice day.

Sairafina · 06/10/2020 13:06

Gosh, sending Flowers to all of you superwomen who are facing the scans alone. It just seems so unjustified. The country I live in has allowed partners in for scans and DH will be allowed in for the entire labour/birth and can stay in the hospital with me overnight if needs be. The hospital said we should have a Covid test 2 days prior to the birth... as if we know when that would be 😂 I have booked one for 2 days before my due date which is the best I can do in the circs.

I was supposed to have a scan today and the Group B strep swab but the Drs office has closed for the day so rescheduled for later in the week. It's tough having to wait longer to see him and for the reassurance of the heartbeat but he is moving around so much in there so I know he's OK.

How did you scan go today @Relfm?

Relfm · 06/10/2020 13:14

Thanks all.

Scan was fine this morning Smile. They didn't actually check baby's growth because it had only been a week, but my cervix is still holding on and hasn't got any worse - actually measured slightly longer. So still on alert, but not any additional panic!

Bluebell2020 · 06/10/2020 13:14

@Figey it's really hard isn't it. It gets to me most when people comment on me having a small bump. I know they mean it as a compliment and I always smile and joke about it but inside all I can think is that's because my baby is so small and I'd give anything for her to be bigger. Hopefully our little ones will just be small but absolutely fine. Or even better they'll come out bigger than expected!

rorosemary · 06/10/2020 21:52

@Bluebell2020
I really hope your scan goes well on friday. Waiting must take so long now that you're worried. Thankfully they keep checking you and are prepared to intervene if that would mean a better outcome.

Flyingfruit · 08/10/2020 16:09

I’ve just had my 36 week scan At 35+3 and baby is estimated at 6.15 already Confused I have to go and have some extra tests for Gestational diabetes even though I’ve already had one this Pregnancy!

LRHRN · 08/10/2020 17:52

@Flyingfruit I wouldn't worry too much. My friend was told she was having a huge baby 11lb+ as she had gestational diabetes (she was also very over weight) she had the baby by csection at 39weeks and he weighed 5lb 8oz.
I don't think they can tell the weight off a scan xx

DueNumberTwo · 09/10/2020 19:44

How was everyone's day?
I was on annual leave and DS nursery had an inservice day. Got my flu vaccination, took ds to the park for a very short while then dh and him went for lunch while I had a swim. We pretty much just watched tv or played with toys all afternoon. I'm pretty tired today and hips are a bit achy but feel bad that ds was inside so much of the day.
Tomorrow we'll take him for a cycle round a local reservoir and in the afternoon he's going to play with his cousin in the garden so hopefully that will make up for it.

Pukeymama · 09/10/2020 20:27

Hi @duenumbertwo, sounds like a lush day! I've had a busy one today actually, completely over did it though, had intense Braxton Hicks this evening which panicked me for a minute but luckily they turned into nothing. Definitely caused by over doing it. It's DH birthday this weekend but I've warned him after this I'm massively on chill out time!

DueNumberTwo · 09/10/2020 20:50

@Pukeymama I get them a lot too when I over do it. A big glass of water can help too. Just have a nice takeaway & film for DH birthday.

DH said Ive to have a lie in tomorrow so hopefully DS agrees 🤣

Pukeymama · 12/10/2020 10:59

How's everyone doing? There must be a few on this thread very almost at 'full term' now??

Anyone in there last week of work before mat leave yet?? I've got 2.5 weeks to go and cannot wait!

OP posts:
Pinecone88 · 12/10/2020 12:24

Hi! I still have 3 weeks to go at work, can't wait for the last day 😅
At least I am working from home so it's not that bad, but I just want to be done.

Pukeymama · 12/10/2020 15:47

I can't stop thinking of the feeling of freedom on my first day off 😆

rainbows20 · 12/10/2020 20:17

4 weeks at work left for me. PGP has really ramped you though so not sure how I am going to copeSad

LRHRN · 14/10/2020 06:49

I've finished work now cause luckily I've sold my business so I can concentrate on being a mum for a while and it's such a relief but in all honesty I'm so bored at home because I've done everything.

Saw the midwife on Monday and baby is still transverse with her shoulder stuck 🤦🏼‍♀️ if she hasn't moved in 2 weeks it will be a scan and then planning a csection in the following couple of weeks.

Hope you're all well and babies are engaged ready to arrive XX

ChampooPapi · 14/10/2020 06:56

@rainbows20 yes mine too, it's bloody painful, feels like I've been locked in the crotch by a steel toed boot a fair few times! I've never had it before with my other two pregnancies, so this is new to me, I feel for every woman who suffer with it, so dibhilating. Twins this time though so inevitable I got it I think.

On the plus note my section was booked yesterday for the 5th of November so just three weeks to go 🙌🎇

LRHRN · 16/10/2020 10:45

Have any of you lovely ladies experienced "lightning crotch" yet?
I swear my baby is carrying a taser and she's just jabbing me for the fun of it 😫
I didn't have it with my other two so this is a new one for me but with this babe I've been having it for the last 4 weeks 🙁
