Lovely clear scan photo @Sansa87, definitely worth paying for the reassurance!

Bananas52 · 27/09/2020 08:36

Hi everyone!
I had my BFP on 5/9/20 and was completely unexpected (DH and I weren’t going to start TTC until November). I’m a bit all over the place on dates as my cycles have been all over the place since coming off contraception in April, so not sure on exact EDD but should be some time in May 2021.
My last LMP was 31/7/20. We booked an early private scan for 22/9/20 just for reassurance really and it came back as inconclusive, meaning it was too early or not viable. They could see gestational and yolk sac but no embryo. I contacted the EPU who were lovely and they booked me in for a scan tomorrow to see if there has been any progress. I was really negative and heartbroken after Tuesday but now I’m thinking about my irregular cycles (and reading many threads) I am leaning more towards it being earlier than we thought — especially as the last few days I have been feeling hungover and my boobs - ouch 😩
Anyway, hopefully we should know more tomorrow. I look forward to following your journeys!

Babypea21 · 27/09/2020 08:48

This may sound silly but how can they move you two weeks if it goes off the date of your last period?
The first day of my last was 12th aug so that puts me at 6+4 or was yours not based on that?

Gingergeek89 · 27/09/2020 09:06

@Babypea21 they tend to adapt your pregnancy stage from measurements taken at ultrasounds to account for differences in when people ovulate. These get more accurate as the pregnancy progresses and the 12 week scans often update it again. The LMP dates assume that you ovulate 14 days in to your cycle so they have to adjust it to account for when conception actually occurred. Therefore scan dates become conception plus 2 weeks Smile

@Bananas52 congratulations and good luck with your scan tomorrow! Hopefully all goes well and let us know how it goes

Morning everyone, hope everyone's keeping well. I have an odd question, is anyone having really vivid random dreams?

I've been having them my full pregnancy (8w + 3d) but last few nights they are constant, and I feel like I'm getting no sleep or only light sleeping - which isn't helping the pregnancy tiredness!

Any useful tips to stop this will be welcomed with open arms! Dreams are like solving massive mathematical calculations or last nights packing a 2 suitcases for holidays. Nothing baby related and I'm not feeling stressed etc.

Gingergeek89 · 27/09/2020 09:25

@ScottishStardust I’m the same. Had a dream last night that they refused to give me a picture from my 12 week scan, which isn’t for nearly 3 weeks. Hot chocolate sometimes help me sleep and my anti-emetics make me drowsy so they have been helping too. This Works pillow spray also tends to help me drift off, it’s not cheap though is pregnancy safe and you can normally get mini sizes as a mini gift set

I'm glad it's not just me @Gingergeek89 - it's driving me insane! Good shout about the sleepy spray - I used this before so know it's worth the money! Off to amazon I go 😀

Sansa87 · 27/09/2020 09:41

Yes to the vivid dreams. I was up three times last night. Feel like a zombie at work today.

So had to listen to something showing off about being at the protests yesterday, and how covid is a lie 🙄 how are people such idiots. Hiding in my office now to stay away from potential germs.

Gingergeek89 · 27/09/2020 09:44

@ScottishStardust @Sansa87 we could gather all our trippy dream stories and publish a book containing the craziest short stories ever haha

ScottishStardust · 27/09/2020 09:55

Haha.. funny you say that as I'm beginning to think I should write them down! You couldn't make some of them up!

Go to bed early to stop being a grumpy cow and wake up in an even worse mood! Lucky husband 🤣

RustyCat · 27/09/2020 10:06

Omg vivid dreams, I've been having them for ages. They are often the weirdest ones ever, last night/this morning before I woke at 4am for a wee I was dreaming that my job was changed due to pregnancy and I became a farm groomer.... I had to go around all of the animals, sheep, goat, cows, pigs etc and give them all baths, blow dries and brush them 🤣. No idea what that was about but it was so vivid I could smell the apple shampoo I was using!

ScottishStardust · 27/09/2020 10:53

@RustyCat that's brilliant, at least the shampoo with a decent scent! Every cloud and all that!

iloveyoubutilovememore · 27/09/2020 11:03

Exactly the same here @ScottishStardust - mine are mental and really unrealistic. I’m also finding that when I wake up to pee I can’t get back to sleep.

Intrigued2020 · 27/09/2020 11:17

Hi Everyone, my natural cycles app says that I am week 3 + 3 but I did a clear blue test last week which said 2-3weeks and I read online that this means 4-5weeks. Do you think natural cycles is more likely to be correct or clear blue? xx

TheDaydreamBelievers · 27/09/2020 18:15

Hi @Intrigued2020 welcome and congrats! I use natural cycles too. You could maybe see if theres another temp pattern that could be ovulation a couple of weeks before where natural cycles thinks it is? Either way, they'll date you properly at your nhs scan

Intrigued2020 · 27/09/2020 19:00

Hi @TheDaydreamBelievers thank you! Congrats to you as well :) Yeah I have no idea where I am 😂 everything just doesn’t add up! Hopefully I will go for a scan soon and they will let me know :) I just want to know something is in there and then I can relax! xx

ScottishLassie91 · 28/09/2020 14:05

Hows everyone foung today?
Anyone starting to struggle with hormones? This morning my husband found be sobbing hysterically in the kitchen as I didn't know what I wanted to eat 😂 also nausea in full swing, I had to pull the car onto the hard shoulder 🤢 Feeling so exhausted and so worried about how fat I'll get 😭

leftitlate37 · 28/09/2020 14:47

hey @ScottishLassie91! ah thats a hard choice tho when u dont know what to have for brekkie! esp when....as i found....the sodding bread was mouldy so couldnt have toast!!! bad luck with the nausea:( today i'm actually feeling ok, just insanely worried and anxious. had some epic afternoon sleeps the last 3 days but so far so good today. I think im gonna book an early scan for next week when ill be 8 weeks...just not convinced there is anything there, and need either some reassurance or else just to know before we then have some annual leave from work.
havig to try v hard to get some fruit and veg down me in the week as then saturday, i was like hit me with the sausage and tomato ketchup sandwich!!!

bloomety · 28/09/2020 15:06

@ScottishStardust I've been having vivid dreams too about packing and also about making it on time for a trip to the zoo! Last night though I had 3 sex dreams Shock. I very rarely have those but I have 3!!

I've found I've been feeling sick when I'm hungry. I've also been sleeping terribly. Waking up and being wide awake.
