@AnnaPosie omg yes!!! Nausea to the point of retching but as soon as I eat I'm fine.
My manager at work is a god send and let's me snack mid shift even on a short 4 hour shift. Thank goodness!!

leftitlate37 · 24/10/2020 18:37

thanks @LittleTiger007, so sorry about yours in June :( thats so good you got pregnant again so quickly, can imagine you must be nervous - but chances are good for a successful pregnancy this time. Will keep an eye on this thread so can see how it goes for you. Do you mind me asking (and don't reply if u do!) how quickly it took for your cycles to be normal, was it straight away? x

AnnaPosie · 24/10/2020 22:02

@littletiger007
@princesspunzie never even thought that could happen, sounds like she is very tuned in so that is good
@waitingforbabypage

I'm not the only one so !! It is so weird ! Part of me feels like maybe I would feel better if I actually got sick !

PrincessPunzie · 25/10/2020 05:37

@AnnaPosie I know, I was really surprised when she suggested medication - it was much worse nausea than I’d had before and fairly debilitating (I was struggling to do school/nursery runs, barely eating and had the odd day where I was confined to bed) but I assumed that I’d just have to put up with it. It’s really helped, I was going to try coming off them tomorrow although I felt pretty rough last night so I’m not sure now!

MayBAE21 · 25/10/2020 07:34

Anybody else having the odd (strong) mood swings? For some reason I'm in such a foul mood today. Just want to scream and rip shreds off people. I have absolutely nothing to be so peed off about but every little thing is sending me over the edge. I'm usually a level headed person. But today - I'm a fire cracker waiting to explode!

AnnaPosie · 25/10/2020 08:12

@maybae21 I have moments for sure ! Reminds me of how I am when my period is coming, I'm a laid back kinda gal but when I rage, I rage 🙈😂 probably just all the hormones and fatigue ! ♥️♥️

AnnaPosie · 25/10/2020 08:14

@primcesspunzie that can often be the problem, we are so used to just putting up with things and expected to just carry on so it's great you talked to her about it and she didn't dismiss you so just goes to show it's important to mention everything really ! That sounds horrendous, can't even imagine, really hope it starts to ease off soon for you.

Manth84 · 25/10/2020 10:29

@leftitlate37 i havnt been on here as I've been back at work so only just catching up. My gosh I am so sorry to hear this, I really am. I was listening to Chris and Rosie Ramsey's podcast the other day and they mentioned going through the same thing. I really hope you're ok xx

LittleTiger007 · 25/10/2020 20:52

@leftitlate37 sorry not to get back to you sooner. My cycles were weird for a bit. I had mmc end of June, dealt with surgically at the beginning of July. Mid august I finally ovulated or so it seemed ... smiley face of the ovulation kit kept flashing but not still. This continued for two weeks! I think my body was trying to ovulate. I finally did at the end of august and we caught it! So we miraculously fell pregnant on the first cycle after the miscarriage. It was a long cycle though. Good luck @leftitlate I certainly didn’t think it would happen so quickly. I felt so teary for the first few weeks I didn’t think I’d want to, but we were lucky. We haven’t been anything like as excited or joy filled as we were the first time though. Sadly we know what may happen and don’t want to get our hopes up too much That’s easier said than done... I have a scan this Saturday. 🙏

LittleTiger007 · 25/10/2020 20:55

@MayBAE21 yes I have had days where I’ve been in a foul hormonal mood! I also feel nauseated much of the time. Sick in back of mouth but never actually sick. I sniff peppermint oil on a tissue at night and during the day munch on ginger biscuits!

RustyCat · 26/10/2020 09:19

I have had days like that, I have to move to a different room when DH is eating more or less everything as the sound of him chewing with his mouth open drives me bananas and I want to beat him to death 🤣.

As soon as he picks up a packet of crisps i move rooms until he is done, honestly cannot stand the sound normally but apparently pregnant it's worse!

Got my 12wk scan a week on Wednesday, absolutely bricking it as I have to go in my own. Really hoping it's good news and I can finally share with people other than DH and yourselves no one knows!

MayBAE21 · 26/10/2020 09:38

@RustyCat OMG yes!! My husband was chewing gum (with his mouth closed.) We were both on the laptop and he was chewing right in my ear. I shot him a dirty look so he started chewing slower. Not helping!!!!

Poor bloke can't catch a break at the moment. He made me lunch yesterday. Really kind of him but then I walked into the kitchen... for the love of baby Jesus - he managed to use EVERY saucepan we own to cook pasta and sauce. You going to clean this up or...

RustyCat · 26/10/2020 09:50

The chewing is horrendous isn't it 🤣 DH does the same when I shoot holy he death glare he chews slower...not helpful if he's eating something squishy like a toffee as it prolongs the irritating noise.

Omg I know that pain, it's amazing how many things they can use when cooking 😂.

AnnaPosie · 26/10/2020 10:13

Anyone else just constantly hungry?! Like I'm eating more than usual and an hour after breakfast my tummy is rumbling again 😂 but feel nauseous so it takes a lot to actually eat

RustyCat · 26/10/2020 10:31

@AnnaPosie me! I am dreading my next weigh in with the mdiwife, I am such a pig lately. Normally I have dinner and I'm fine, but currently I have dinner and then after about 30 minutes I start my round of snacks. Yesterday it was ice-cream and jelly, followed by grapes, wotsits, pombears and some roses 🤣..oh and pre bed time cheese, I couldn't get cheese out of my head so I had to go cut a bit of the block of cheese in the frisge. I'm not going to admit my during the day snacks as that's embarrassing!

NRDoss · 26/10/2020 10:38

@leftitlate37 so sorry to hear about your news.. sending loads of love your way xx. I had MMC in May at the peak of Covid, surgery wasn't given as an option for me due to that.. but the nurses were very nice and empathetic, remember hearing the news all by myself without husband (covid visitation restrictions) and they were holding my hand and let me wail in their room. Although I opted for medicinal management (they will not urge you to take a decision right there, so please take your time) things went unexpectedly natural for me.

Take time to process everything, talk to your partner/friend/family about how you feel everyday, unwind yourself and get loads of physical and mental rest. I sincerely pray that you should get all the strength that I lacked during the tough time I went through xx

leftitlate37 · 26/10/2020 10:45

Thanks so much for your lovely message @NRDoss ....feel so fortunate having had such lovely advice and support from u all. Sorry u went thru this, bad enough but during covid it must have been even worse. I was v v lucky yesterday that the nhs let hubby come into the scan with me as they knew it wasn't going to be good. I've got to wait a week for another scan as due to measurements their policy is to check again so I have time to weigh up options which is good, and lots of advice from people on miscarriage board. Hope it just happens naturally. Struggling so badly with work, achieved big fat nothing since starting today.
Thanks again and wishing u all the v v best for this pregnancy for you xx

NRDoss · 26/10/2020 10:54

Welcome to the newbies! Congrats :)

would the U shaped pillow help with back pain and hip pains during sleeping? Nausea is gone and finally got my appetite back ,world is so much better with food again :D but completely lost my sleep - constant turning to sides with hip pains. I honestly thought these stuff would crop up only when I get to 20 weeks or so.

Have got my 12 wk scan this Thursday afternoon, super nervous thinking about it.

AnnaPosie · 26/10/2020 11:36

@NRDoss

I was actually just googling those pillows, I sleep on my right side and find I'm tossing and turning as my legs and hips are getting sore I'm assuming from all the changes even though I'm just 10 weeks so no bump yet. I read that sleeping on your side is meant to be better and they recommend using a pregnancy pillow for helping with hip pain, pretty sure it was an NHS article.

Bea11 · 26/10/2020 12:46

The big U shaped pillow that I've got definitely helped me with hip and back pain in my previous pregnancies. I haven't got mine down from the loft yet as it's another couple of weeks until my 12 week scan and there's a crazy little part of me that feels like I'm jinxing it to get the pillow down before my scan!!! I've been suffering with hip pain loads this time round and so have just been using a normal cushion propped under my belly and between my legs at night and that is helping a bit. I'm desperate to get my proper pillow down though...only two weeks to go!!

Bea11 · 26/10/2020 12:51

@leftitlate37 I'm so glad that you're husband was able to come to the scan with you. Can totally understand how difficult you're finding work atm. It's almost impossible to focus when you've got so much to think about. I hope that they're being understanding. It's a lot of stress to be under when you've had that bad news but then have to wait for another scan and the next steps. Sending you loads of love and I'm glad you've found support on the miscarriage board xx

Bea11 · 26/10/2020 12:55

@NRDoss sorry to hear about the mmc you went through earlier this year and I'm glad that it happened naturally for you in the end. It's really tough have the option of surgical management taken away due to Covid.
Wishing you so much luck for your scan on Thursday. Mine's next Friday and I'm super nervous too! I think there's quite a few of us with 12 week scans this week and next xx

AnnaPosie · 26/10/2020 18:22

Any tips for all day nausea?
Gets worse after I eat but I am constantly hungry so vicious circle, seems worse the last 3 days but not sure if just pregnancy or nerves about my first scan tomorrow

XennialMama · 26/10/2020 20:15

Ladies, has anyone experienced a light bleed? This happened to me on Saturday night (a dollop of black blood) and carried on with dark red and brown spotting through Sunday (with cramps like menstrual cramps which I have not had all pregnancy through today). Heart in my throat went to get a scan today privately (EPU can't see me until tomorrow, but called it an emergency) and baby was fine, moving around and measuring 11 weeks at 10+4 with loud heartbeat. Sonographer couldn't figure out where the spotting was coming from but said cervix is shut and baby is well. This is the most stressful thing I've gone through in my life. Now on bed rest and double Cyclogest. I am so grateful that everything is OK but this is so scary. My pregnancy is complex because of my age, I have 2 small fibroids and am also on progesterone support. Has anyone experienced similar? The more women I speak to the more common bleeds appear to be, but I was not prepared for this. Thanks

@leftitlate37 sorry for your loss.

PrincessPunzie · 26/10/2020 20:31

@XennialMama not quite the same thing, but I’ve bled in all my pregnancies except for this one, and with my youngest son it was extreme - bright red, soaked through my trousers, and was stop-start over a period of around three weeks. It was earlier on (started at around six weeks) but they never found a reason for it and one day it just stopped. I assumed I was having a miscarriage and got the shock of my life when they found a heartbeat - although, having since experienced a miscarriage the bleeding wasn’t similar at all. Sometimes our bodies do inexplicable things during pregnancy. I’m sorry you’ve had so much worry, but pleased that baby is doing okay!
