@mylittlebean2019 Thank you. No they don't offer it, my isolation ended last Monday but I've stayed home longer to be safe. They say if you still have a temperature then to still self isolate (which I don't have ) I have wondered about getting one before returning to work but they only want people with symptoms to test don't they 🤔

RustyCat · 20/10/2020 08:27

@Manth84 so glad to hear you are feeling better!

Manth84 · 20/10/2020 14:43

@RustyCat thank you!
Had my booking appt this morning. My midwife was so lovely! Just got to wait for my scan date. Although looks like I may have to wait longer as my dates are a week off for some reason! Also don't know if my partner can come as she said the rules keep changing.
Got some leaflets to read! Although too much info makes me a bit anxious and overwhelmed at times. So then I don't want to read it 🙈
If anyone's finding they are out growing their bras like me, Sainsbury's do a fab range of non wired bras and crop tops! Just bought one with a zip up the front and it's so comfy! Only £9 (well there's 25% off today) and comes in S, M, L, XL etc so you don't have to be too specific bra size wise!

leftitlate37 · 20/10/2020 15:27

oo thanks for the heads up @Manth84 ill look into those! my sports bras are now so tight giving me bad back and basically living in soft crop top type ones in the day!
glad your MW was lovely - that defo helps! will u always see this one??
yeah thats a good point, i got a load of leaflets which i plonked on kitchen table and havent looked at since! my scan date came through quickly once had my booking appt so hope u wont wait long!

Gingergeek89 · 20/10/2020 15:28

@Manth84 glad to hear the booking appointment went well! My boobs exploded early on so by 6 weeks I was already up a cup size. Now they are back to the size they were before losing 2.5 stone earlier this year. Thanks for the tip will look into it. Currently using New Look sleeping maternity bras and they are super comfy as well

My boobs have grown so much too! Last week I popped on a swimming costume that I wore on our honeymoon earlier this year and I was bursting out of the cups - definitely no swimming for me in it 😂
I’ve been wearing these (they come in different colours) the last couple of weeks and they have been so comfortable compared to normal underwired direct.asda.com/george/women/lingerie/bras/lace-overlay-non-wired-comfort-bras-2-pack/GEM773213,default,pd.html?cgid=D1M18G2C1&_gl=121or1c_ga*YW1wLUNUVG8tcVM4Q3VUNXJ2SzhXcEZjWTZzV2dhMlktbUpNaDdBTTFGcEcwYnp4Vm1uWWtWX3JrRmRJR1JoYThtU1Y.

Manth84 · 20/10/2020 17:10

@Bananas52 @Gingergeek89 ooh great, il have a look at those!
@leftitlate37 yes hopefully! she said they are trying to do "continuity of care" or something, so we see the same one or 2 midwives throughout, which is good!

Has anyone had a flu jab yet? (I know some people are against them) but now I've had covid I'm wondering if it might be wise to get one.

Sansa87 · 20/10/2020 18:40

@Manth84 it’s always wise to get one. Imagine how many deaths there would be from the flu If there wasn’t a vaccine.

Also the flu can be deadly in pregnancy, even if you are normally a very healthy person.

I get one every year, purely to avoid spreading it to anyone vulnerable. I always keep my grandad in mind. This time o have bubba to think of too.

Manth84 · 20/10/2020 19:03

@Sansa87 Thanks. I've asked a few people who have had kids and most said they didn't have one so it made me second guess it

leftitlate37 · 20/10/2020 19:17

ooo yeah if was me @Manth84 id get the flu vaccine! had mine same day as booking appt. really dont wanna be getting flu when pregnant, remember having it as a kid and was awful!
That's good re the continuity of care thing, i've got that too - i assumed everyone did, but the way they spoke sounded like it was unusual? even more reason to be happy you liked your MW!
just put my sainsburys order in - so thanks for the heads up! was so hard not to buy any of the amazingly cute baby stuff but still too worried about stuff going wrong to get anything! x

Waitingforbabypage · 20/10/2020 23:08

Had my booking in, all pretty straight forward except this time I'm such a chunk I need extra growth scans, I'm not much bigger then I usually am (size 18/20) but they want to take the extra precautions- I'm ok with that.
Bp a little low for me but still ok.
First scan is also 4th nov- we're going to have some lovely pictures to share on that day aren't we?!

MayBAE21 · 21/10/2020 03:09

Eeekkk... results back from the NIPT, our little bear is negative (well as negative as it can be) on all chromosomal abnormalities. Technically I'm 12weeks today but I have a feeling my Dr will move me ahead by a week. At my last scan I was measuring I was measuring 5days ahead of schedule. Anybody else growing a porker Grin

So excited to start sharing our news. We have a scan next week so waiting till we get all the clear and some new photos.

We also found out our little bear is a.... BOY!!! I'm stoked!! My husband had a tear in his eyes. We've always wanted a little boy and he's finally on his way to us.

Meomeomeo · 21/10/2020 06:35

Ooh congratulations @maybae21. How long did it take for your nipt to come back?

RustyCat · 21/10/2020 09:04

@MayBAE21 oh congratulations! How exciting!!! Did it take long to get your nipt results back?

MayBAE21 · 21/10/2020 12:13

@rustycat @Meomeomeo bloods taken last Wednesday and results came back on the the Monday. They told me it would take 5 working days but the results back sooner than expected.

Meomeomeo · 21/10/2020 12:46

Thank you @MayBAE21. Congratulations on your lil boy and the all clear result.

NRDoss · 21/10/2020 13:06

@Manth84 glad to hear you on the mend.
@MayBAE21 awww congrats, you must be excited :)

Have been off for a couple of days and it is so good to see a lot of suggestions on comfy bras and pillows. Definitely need them as I'm having hip pains and sleeping has been terrible with sore boobs and constant turning over to sides, guess it is just a start to what may come in the next 6/7 months :D

Had my booking appointment yesterday, Lead midwife was so lovely and chatty. She answered all my questions and assured that things will be fine this time. That really made me feel good. Booked for flu vaccine on 31st - so I guess everything is going okay :)

How is everybody else doing?

Nikig87 · 21/10/2020 14:31

Hello ladies, ive had an early scan this morning and it was confirmed im currently 8+5, due around 25th May! Looking forwards to sharing this journey with you all Smile

RustyCat · 22/10/2020 08:21

@Nikig87 oh how exciting! ☺️

Manth84 · 22/10/2020 09:08

@Nikig87 Yay!!! 😊
@NRDoss glad your booking appt went well. I wonder when we will get our scan dates! I need to get my flu jab booked. I use my arms alot with work so I don't want it to cause any pain. Also after the covid, I don't want to feel ill again (some people think it makes them ill even though it's not "live") 🤔

leftitlate37 · 22/10/2020 09:21

Ah @Manth84 defo didn't make me feel ill, defo did make me feel like someone had punched my arm for 24h or so! Was only bad when lay on it etc.
Congrats @Nikig87!!!
Glad booking appt went well @NRDoss and u got a lovely midwife:)
Booked an early scan tomorrow, can't hang on for another 2 weeks :s really hope everything is OK.
X

Beepbeep42 · 22/10/2020 22:33

Hello everyone, I'm very behind on this thread so lots of reading to do! Hope everyone is doing well.

Booking scan went well, flu jab done. Being sensible this time and referred to the perinatal mental health team. Finally got my first scan date and I'll be 13 weeks exactly (same day as you @waitingforbabypage ) and first consultant appointment booked in too for 16 weeks, yay.

Already look quite pregnant and the sickness has finally buggered off. Mostly. Right, away to catch up.

Waitingforbabypage · 23/10/2020 11:02

Got my blood results-
I'm anaemic, vit b12, c & d deficient. No wonder I'm flipping knackered. Anyone else the same or has in the past? How do you cope with the sheer lack of energy?!

RustyCat · 23/10/2020 12:15

@Waitingforbabypage oh bless you! I've not had anything back about my bloods but I have been anemic before and it makes you shattered, extra iron in your diet helps. I.e. red meats, kale, spinach the ... Lovely veg 😂

PrincessPunzie · 23/10/2020 15:29

Hi May mamas,

I hope everyone is well. I’m just joining this thread for the first time after learning this morning that I have a baby girl due on May 4th.

I’m a 40 year old (gulp) mother of two boys aged 4 and 20 months, we also sadly lost a little boy in January 2018 at 17 weeks when I heart-wrenchingly terminated a pregnancy due to a rare combination of chromosomal problems. So the first trimester is always a pretty scary time for me - I had a CVS on Tuesday and I’ve been anxiously waiting on my results, which came back all-clear this morning. I’m delighted, and still in shock to be expecting a girl as I’d resigned myself to a life as a mother of (wonderful) boys!

If there’s a Facebook group I’d love to join, I’ve been lucky enough to make lovely friends on the two groups I joined for my boys, and I’m really looking forward to chatting!
