The reviews for the BBhugme pillow are amazing. Items quite expensive but can also double up as a feeding pillow when the baby is born

Gingergeek89 · 18/10/2020 08:50

@choccychar I’m 11+5 from my scan on Thursday so almost the same 😊. Good luck for you scan next week! Have been twinges etc for a while but the last 2 weeks it has definitely escalated. All worth it though, we are so excited to start our family together.

Thank you for the recommendations, will investigate!

Hi everyone, is there a Facebook group? I got my threads/dates mixed up and accidentally joined an April one instead of May! Only realised when all the posters were talking about things I hadnt experienced yet.

Gingergeek89 · 18/10/2020 11:15

@ShalomToYouJackie are you still able to add people to the FB group? After my scan I would like to join 😊

@Gingergeek89 I bought a c shaped pregnancy pillow but it's too big, it's like straddling a massive banana and the end bits reach DH. Last pregnancy I had a cheap set of 2 from Argos but they don't seem to do it anymore, there was a wedge shaped one and that was great for between my knees and eventually to prop my bump on. I'm like a rotisserie chicken in the night, I turn over every half an hour or so because my hips ache. This is at 11 weeks, the next 29 weeks should be fun Envy

Gingergeek89 · 18/10/2020 13:01

@imisscoffee I’ve ordered a 9 ft U shaped one which I’m going to try. I’m 5’11’’ so tried to balance needing some space in the bed with making sure I can wrap it round. Sorry to hear you are having the pains too and I’m the same with turning too. At least in 29 weeks we will get the meet the baby that is causing it all I guess! Then sleep deprivation can truly begin 😂

Has anyone else had to amend their working hours yet? Have now had to rearrange my clients to move to a 5 day week from a 6 day one from the end of this month. Have been very lucky that they have accommodated this as was worried about the loss of income if people cancelled instead (joys of working for yourself when pregnant). Never used to struggle with it but the energy just isn’t there! Wondered if this is something that other people have struggled with to?

Fior those with hip pain, are you wearing a support? They can help with pain even from early. Sometimes added support in the day reduces discomfort at night. Totally empathise though, I have hypermobility syndrome and had SPD last pregnancy, also already have hip pain now. I use a pillow anyway at night, but also toss and turn. I’ve started doing physio exercises already, which help a bit. You can find these online if you need some and are waiting for an appointment.

Hello my first scan is 4of November as well, am 10weeks and 2days today. Good luck to us.

Babypea21 · 19/10/2020 08:41

@Gingergeek89 love the pic, I’ve got two cats Bob and Ted.

My booking app went well but they couldn’t get any blood so I’m going back on Thursday.
My 12week scan is 4th nov (same as others) but we have booked a private one on 31st Oct with my hubby, I want to experience it for the first time with him.

Gingergeek89 · 19/10/2020 08:53

@Babypea21 glad the booking appointment went well! We are so glad that we went for a private scan together so that we got to see the heartbeat together for the first time. The best rate we could get was £79 where we are but would definitely recommend people do it if they can if no partners can go to their NHS scans.

We are thinking of booking in another private scan at 16-17 weeks so we can find out the gender together. Are others planning to find out gender or keep it a secret?

Babypea21 · 19/10/2020 09:04

@Gingergeek89 I think they completely differ in price especially as they are used a lot more now.
My husband wants to know the sex so we are finding out but he’s allowed to my 20 week scan which is good.

I don’t want to miss out on these experiences as a couple and I don’t want my hub to miss out on anything I’m just glad we can go private

Gingergeek89 · 19/10/2020 09:12

@Babypea21 that is great that he can come to the 20 week scan. I agree it is definitely something that is nice to involve them in

OP posts:
RustyCat · 19/10/2020 10:57

@Babypea21 and @Mercy14 we all have the same scan date! How exciting!! Hubby is booking a private scan so he can see baby too, due to work commitments he can't come to the 12wk scan but I've made it crystal clear his work have no say in stopping him coming to the 20wk scan even if he has to call in sick 🤣

Bananas52 · 19/10/2020 11:23

Hi everyone, I hope you are all keeping okay! I’ve been a little quiet on here but have been following the thread still. My 12 week scan is on 9th November.

@Gingergeek89 my husband can come to the 20 week scan but we are going to book a private one around 17 weeks to find out. I always thought I would want a surprise but I’m so excited to find out. No preference, of course, just excited to know what’s going on in there! Our local private scans are £79 too.

Gingergeek89 · 19/10/2020 11:32

@Bananas52 I know exactly what you mean! Want to find out everything about the baby, can’t wait to see what it looks like either and what mixture of our personalities it will have 😊 (or a completely new one haha)

OP posts:
RustyCat · 19/10/2020 12:41

@Bananas52 and @Gingergeek89 exactly the same. I cannot wait to find out, don't mind which tbh, DH wants a boy for our first so we shall see what happens, I don't mind but it'll be good to know so I can stop referring to baby as he/she or it.

Manth84 · 19/10/2020 14:20

Hello! My covid symptoms have finally started to settle and I'm feeling much more human again 😅 although I'm really not craving healthy food at all 😫 just want comfort food (or whatever my sickly tum allows)
My booking apt is tomorrow. They said they would ring me and take some deets over the phone but I haven't had anything. Not sure what to expect. My letter hasnt even come through but I did ring and check all was ok last week and she said they're having post problems 🙄 just gave a weird feeling I'm going to turn up and they won't be expecting me. Also I'm right in saying you will need to give a urine sample when there? I've never done this, is it easy to do 😳 how big is the container? Lol.
Also I've had hip replacements and a pillow between the legs at night is a life saver for anyone with hip pain. I wonder if my V shaped pillow will come in handy in time! Perhaps so with feeding!
Anyway sorry for the long post, hope you're all ok!

Bananas52 · 19/10/2020 14:54

@Manth84 glad you’re on the mend! I had no idea what to expect for my booking appointment either, as it appears each trust is doing things slightly differently because of COVID. I had a phone appointment booked in to go through medical history etc and then at the end of the call I was booked in for the second half of the booking appointment (which I had this morning!) Today I had bloods and urine taken (urine pot was teeny so maybe ask for a cup), height & weight and then they went through any other details.

Manth84 · 19/10/2020 15:59

@Bananas52 well I just rang them to ask why I'd not had the phone call yet but she said they've changed it back to being face to face for the whole thing. At least she confirmed my appt, so that's put my mind at rest! I'm presuming they book your scan in when you've had this first appt?

Gingergeek89 · 19/10/2020 17:00

@Manth84 yes they refer you for your 12 week scan at/after the booking appointment. With my trust I received the appointment for this about a week later in the post.

@Gingergeek89 of course, just Pm me after your scan!

When is yours? Mine is on Sunday when I'll be 12+4. I'm 11+5 today and last had a scan at 10+1. So worried for Sunday.

My mental health consultant appointment has been pushed back by 2 weeks which isn't great as I'm really struggling, having panic attacks nearly every day and sleeping so badly from the worry, constant nightmares about miscarrying and just a bit of a mess. No idea what's happened to me!

I'm having a pamper evening tonight and going to have a nice hot drink with Made in Chelsea and try and chill the f out 😁

@ShalomToYouJackie sorry to hear you’ve been having such a tough time! I suffer from anxiety too and this is a situation over which it isn’t possible to get control. Plus all the symptoms don’t make it easier. A good scan at 10 weeks is a great sign so chances of a good scan on Sunday are incredibly high. Have you got a friend that you could confide in about what is going on? Sometimes it’s useful to have people other than family to talk to.

Had my scan on Thursday and all was good, as soon as I saw the foetus moving as they placed the probe on my stomach don’t think I’ve ever been so relieved.

Keep us posted and we are happy to “listen”

@ShalomToYouJackie - sorry to hear you are going through a tough time. I’m normally the most laid back person but pregnancy really is making me anxious I’m just always convincing myself of the worst. I guess it’s all the hormones which probably doesn’t help!
When you get a chance can you also add me to the fb group? I pm’d you a couple of times with my name.

I just booked for a second early scan on Sunday when I’ll be just over 9 weeks. I had one at 6 weeks and everything is looking ok but I’m going on holiday on Monday and so I needed some reassurance for whilst I’m away. They only cost £45 near us and you even get a loyalty card so I think the third time I go I get a free 4D upgrade! Also have my bloods on Friday which I’m hoping will tell me if I’m anemic or not as I have a suspicion I have been for a while and been taking Spatone which helps.

@Gingergeek89 I’ve got that 9ft u-shaped pillow it’s a godsend when you start to get bigger! My husband hates it but I sleep so well with it so already have it out again!

@Manth84 glad you are feeling better! Do they test you again to see if you are now negative?
