Just wanted to speak with someone who's just found out their expecting too?

Feeling very anxious due to previously having misscarriages

Hi I’m new here too,
Scan shows I’m due 16th may 2021
I’ve experienced a lot of bleeding on and off since beginning ( this week being the worst like a light period bright red blood)
I’ve had 4 scans all together now! The first time I went private and was told that I was miscarrying incorrectly! 2 weeks later I was having server pregnancy symptoms and went for a scan at the hospital that showed a healthy 7 week 3 day old baba! I then had bleeding again at 9 weeks where I had a scan a week later showed healthy baby measuring 10+1 no sign of bleeding.

I’m now 12 weeks 1 day and I started bleeding Thursday night! Started with a gush of watery blood discharge (sorry tmi) and then continued on and off (only wearing panty liners changing 2/3 times a day) had a private scan yesterday that showed baby heart beat and baba bean was okay! They also seen a hematoma next to the baby outside the sac! So I’ve got my dating scan with the hospital tomorrow hopefully find out why I’m bleeding! Can anyone relate?

lucymagoo · 02/11/2020 10:49

Is anyone's morning sickness/fatigue starting to lift? I'm 11+5 and don't feel any better yet, hoping it disappears over the next week Sad

mouldygrapes · 02/11/2020 13:32

I felt less sick and more energetic this weekend @lucymagoo, only to be back vomiting and in bed today. I’m 11+3.

Welcome @Jaydelou. Gosh, how scary but so glad to hear all is well on your latest scan. I’ve heard haematomas can cause irregular bleeding, if they’ve seen one next to baby that’s probably the reason for it? Hope all goes well with your dating scan

bloomety · 02/11/2020 14:25

I’m getting my NIPT done tomorrow and I said I didn’t want to know the gender as I didn’t want to find out by email. I’d prefer to be told at a scan. However now I’m wondering if I should, as I am dying to find out!!

That sounds so scary @Jaydelou but massively reassuring that they’ve seen a haematoma. That will be the reason for the bleeding. I’m not surprised you’re scared though. Blood is not want you want to see whilst pregnant yet lots of people on this thread have had the same and their babies are still fine.

Trousersareoverrated · 02/11/2020 15:38

Might be worth find out the gender by email bloomety- at least then you and your partner can find out together rather than on your own at a scan (in case they revert to no partners).

Is everyone finding out gender? We are not- we didn’t last time and I loved the last few weeks of anticipation when I was a grumpy whale! Although I am soooo curious, it is very tempting. DH is quite keen for a boy (as he has 2 girls) but obviously will just be happy either way once we have a healthy baby in our arms.

lucymagoo · 02/11/2020 16:24

We are definitely finding out! I feel like it will help us get excited and plan a bit more. At the moment it's just a vague idea of a baby, looking forward to actually being able to picture it and pick out a name 🥰

bloomety · 02/11/2020 17:01

Oh yes I see what you mean @Trousersareoverrated although I think we’ll probably have a private scan around 16 weeks and I’m pretty sure with them another person was always allowed in?

mouldygrapes · 02/11/2020 17:15

We are keen to find out too.

I hope the impending lockdown doesn’t change the rules in terms of partners at NHS scans - we were told that it was allowed but I’m looking out for updates.
Private scans do seem to have been more lenient, but I read something on Twitter about someone having their private scan cancelled next week due to lockdown so I guess a lot depends on the individual clinic

bloomety · 02/11/2020 18:47

I have my 12 week scan tomorrow and my DH isn’t allowed. He’s a bit upset about it I think.

mouldygrapes · 02/11/2020 19:16

That’s rubbish @bloomety, I’m sorry.
We are lucky that our local MP is big on women’s rights and has lobbied all the local hospitals to allow partners at scans and for the duration of labour. Jeremy Hunt has also been campaigning for this and most hospitals had been revising their policies

bloomety · 02/11/2020 19:26

Yes that’s great. It said in my letter he was allowed but when I rang they said he wasn’t. They were using an old templateHmm

mouldygrapes · 02/11/2020 19:56

That’s terrible, so sorry. It shouldn’t be a postcode lottery

Trousersareoverrated · 02/11/2020 23:07

My DP isn’t allowed either. Which is fine as long as it’s good news but making me a bit nervous about how I’ll cope if it isn’t. I’ve told him not to bother taking the time off work to come and sit outside.

As long as he is there for the birth then I’m ok. I really don’t understand the logic behind not allowing that - when I had DD, DP was sat there getting me food and water, counting my contractions, helping me to the bathroom, getting a midwife when the pain got bad or it had been too long since anyone saw us. Would there be someone there to do all that? I was in labour for a full 2 days!

bloomety · 03/11/2020 10:24

@Trousersareoverrated oh I know, if my DH is not allowed to the birth I’ll be devastated.

I had my NT scan today. It’s feeling real. My wee baby was upside at first then moved round. He was waving his hands at one point. The measurement is normal at 1.6mm but I think my age - 40 - will bring the odds up. I’m getting my NIPT in a couple of hours which will tell me for sure.

So anyone a nub theorist? I’m thinking boy.

RustyCat · 03/11/2020 10:41

@bloomety oh those are adorable pictures!! Congratulations! I'm going tomorrow I'm absolutely bricking it 😬 but so excited at the same time. I am reigning in the excitement just incase.

bloomety · 03/11/2020 10:43

Thank you @RustyCat. I can hardly believe it. After 2 MC I’m so scared of believing it’ll turn out ok yet I want to believe in this bundle of life. S/he deserve their mummy to believe.

Oh just be excited!! It’s so exciting. I had a blood test afterwards for the screening.

Trousersareoverrated · 03/11/2020 11:17

Lovely clear pictures bloomety!! Congratulations! I agree, it is time to get excited

lucymagoo · 03/11/2020 11:26

Lovely @bloomety! Looks very boy like to me Smile

Littlebee1990 · 03/11/2020 12:15

@bloomety AHH WHAT A LUSH PHOTO!!

bloomety · 03/11/2020 12:19

It’s proper baby shaped!!!

lucymagoo · 03/11/2020 12:25

Ooo can see your full name on it @bloomety just in case you didn't see

bloomety · 03/11/2020 13:01

Oops. Thanks @Littlebee1990

bloomety · 03/11/2020 13:37

I’ve removed my name now.

Is anyone else due on the 22nd may 2021?
Littlebee1990 · 03/11/2020 13:44

Have any of you had your screening results back?

Mine have come back Down syndrome 1:1819 and Edwards & Patau 1:10000

Bit worried as I thought the downs would be a bigger number too.. is this fairly normal? I am 30

bloomety · 03/11/2020 13:53

I’ve not had mine back yet but with my son downs was 1 in 21 which was really high. I opted for the NIPT then. If you’re worried you can get that done privately. I had mine done today for £275.
