Hi everyone, can I join?

Due 21st May, 6 weeks and 3 days!
First baby.

Main symptoms are absolutely exhausted, back ache and completely stupid ha! My boobs have just started hurting and gone off some foods (slimy stuff like porridge and beans). But feeling good.

Midwife on 13th October for booking appointment and booked a private scan for the 22nd October so my husband can see the baby for the first time together. (Still alone for all appointments apart from 20 week scan where I live).

bloomety · 28/09/2020 16:06

@CharlieD2020 I know it is a weird one. I think it's probably to do with because I'm abstaining too in case anything happens as a result. That's brilliant news that partners can attend your hospital now. I wonder when my hospital will allow that. I've booked my scan for when I'm 7+1 on Sunday.

mouldygrapes · 28/09/2020 18:02

Hey @ER20 welcome and congratulations.
It’s a shame about partners being excluded from NHS scans. The hospital I’m booking at has just said they’ll allow partners at both 12 and 20 wk scans.

However trying to get in there is a minefield.
Asked the GP surgery to refer in the end as no response to 2 self referrals.
The practice nurse said it’s because I’m too early (true) BUT there’s no way the hospital could have known that as their stupid form does not ask for LMP.
Anyway, she’s also referred FWIW. I don’t expect to be seen/telephone appt before 10 weeks but I do need a bit of notice to rearrange work because they want 60-90 mins for the appointment apparently!

lucymagoo · 28/09/2020 18:32

@mouldygrapes Yeah my booking appointment was supposed to be 30 mins ago and I'm still sat by the phone waiting. Hmm

ER20 · 29/09/2020 07:25

@mouldygrapes Yeah, I’m hoping things change soon, the hospital situation is looking better so hopefully?

That’s so frustrating!

@lucymagoo Did you get a call eventually? A shame it was via phone, hope it was helpful.

lucymagoo · 29/09/2020 08:00

@ER20 yeah 40 mins late but I totally get they're busy. She was really nice in the end and I love that you get one assigned midwife through your whole pregnancy. I'm booked in for a blood test but currently self isolating due to 5 positive cases in my office Envy

My husband just woke me up with a little plate of crackers and a ginger lemon tea to help my stomach ShockSmileBrewStar

Hi ladies, update as promised after my visit to EPU last week when they said heartbeat was low and to expect the worst and go back in 2 weeks. Thank you for all your good wishes and prayers.. today at our private scan bubbas heartbeat is now 129bpm and I’m measuring at 6+4.. we’re not out the woods yet as it’s still very very early days and I have a haematoma to the side of bubba which is a risk but I have to rest, take it easy and keep hopeful everyday. She said as of today everything looks good and how it should and we saw bubbas heartbeat flickering away. We can’t quite believe it. ❤️😢

Is anyone else due on the 22nd may 2021?
lucymagoo · 29/09/2020 08:55

Amazing! Congrats @Littlebee1990 how lovely to hear you're both doing well

bloomety · 29/09/2020 08:57

That’s fantastic news @Littlebee1990. I’m so happy for you. I was thinking of you today and going to ask how it went.

NavyBerry · 29/09/2020 09:30

Congratulations Littlebee! Wonderful news! So reassuring to see the heartbeat. I have been for a scan this morning. I'm exactly 5 weeks. The sac is 9mm, no yolk sac, no embryo. I just pray it is too early and it will visualise in the next scan. My last 2 pregnancies were anembryonic so I'm very scared I will go through it again.

RustyCat · 29/09/2020 09:35

@Littlebee1990 soo soo happy for you! Such amazing news! Rest easy and take care of yourself and bubba!

mouldygrapes · 29/09/2020 09:38

Wonderful news @Littlebee1990, so thrilled for you.
Take care of yourself and the little bean xx

mouldygrapes · 29/09/2020 10:14

Sorry @NavyBerry just saw your message. I’m sure it’s just very early to be seeing anything at 5 weeks. What did they say when they did the scan and are you going again?

lucymagoo · 29/09/2020 10:42

5 weeks is SO early @NavyBerry I'd be very surprised if they saw much at all so I wouldn't worry Smile

Serz88 · 29/09/2020 11:22

@littlebee1990 that is amazing news.
I've got my private scan on Sunday and I'm a complete ball of excited and anxious energy! All I want to hear is a heartbeat

NavyBerry · 29/09/2020 12:14

Thank you! They obviously said to wait a week and come for another scan. I hope they will see more next time. I looked it up at starting from 8mm it is expected to see the yolk sac. Hope it is just too early. It will be the longest week. I also don't have any pregnancy symptoms. Wish I was nauseous or smth

mouldygrapes · 29/09/2020 12:25

I didn’t have nausea to start with @NavyBerry. It’s hit with a vengeance at late 5/early 6 weeks 🤢 but some people never get it so you might be lucky!

lucymagoo · 29/09/2020 12:47

I know you wish you were nauseous but I just took a conference call from the bathroom floor having to mute so they didn't hear me heaving @NavyBerry Grin
It's literally only come on the past few days and I'm 6+2 so plenty of time

iloveyoubutilovememore · 29/09/2020 12:58

@NavyBerry honestly you really don't wish to be nauseous. I didn't feel sick at all during my first pregnancy and it was bliss.

NavyBerry · 29/09/2020 14:19

Well I had it with my DD. It was pretty bad rom 6 and until 20 weeks but at least I knew she was there 😊

Littlebee1990 · 29/09/2020 15:48

Thank you all so so much xx

CharlieD2020 · 29/09/2020 17:05

So excited for you @Littlebee1990! :)

@NavyBerry I've heard pg symptoms can be different with each pg? Though if it makes you feel reassured, then hopefully you might feel a bit sick soon! I'm not very nauseas at all.

Also, does anyone know if I would be likely to be referred for an early scan on the NHS on the basis of increased chance of a pregnancy with multiples? Both my family and DH's family have lots of multiples in our family history (naturally conceived twins and even triplets)! I am cheekily wondering if I should hold off paying for a private scan if I could be referred for NHS one following my booking in appt next Weds anyway.

lucymagoo · 29/09/2020 18:04

@CharlieD2020 multiples are passed on via the mother's side and only fraternal twins/triplets as you would inherit the trait of releasing more than one egg per cycle. Definitely a chance if it's on both sides! I don't know how anyone waits until the 12 week scan tbh I can't wait for my early scan next week so I say do it!

Trousersareoverrated · 30/09/2020 11:43

Hi everyone, just catching up. Hope you are all well. These first few weeks are just awful aren’t they? I can’t stop worrying every time I have a slight twinge. I’ve also had some pale brown discharge a few times now which panics me a little. I’m going to book a reassurance scan for 8 weeks.

NavyBerry · 30/09/2020 13:57

Hello everyone, how are you? I have had brown discharge today. Not much but not little either. My hcg was 3980 yesterday. I will repeat the test tomorrow to see the progress. I was so positive when I got the blood results but now just thinking it is not going well at all
