Just wanted to speak with someone who's just found out their expecting too?

Feeling very anxious due to previously having misscarriages

Oh thanks @lucymagoo they do vaginal scans and there's a clinic near me in Leeds!! Well 54 mins drive away but that's fine for me!

lucymagoo · 24/09/2020 17:40

Glad to help! @bloomety Smile

mouldygrapes · 24/09/2020 17:41

I also booked with window to the womb. When you book it tells you which date is appropriate based on your LMP/1st positive preg test but they scan from 6 weeks onwards

bloomety · 24/09/2020 17:47

Thanks ladies. I'm booked in for a week on Sunday when I'll be 7 weeks exactly.

bloomety · 24/09/2020 17:55

I'm wondering whether to change it to this Sunday or if it will be too soon. I'll be 6+1

lucymagoo · 24/09/2020 17:58

I feel like wait, you'll get more from it at 7weeks @bloomety

RustyCat · 24/09/2020 18:00

@bloomety As @lucymagoo said I would wait in until 7weeks as you'll get so much more out of it.

bloomety · 24/09/2020 18:05

My DH is spending the day with DS and giving me a day off on Sunday so I'm stuck for something to do and thought "aha, Leeds, scan!" You're both right though. It'd be worrying if nothing had changed.

Littlebee1990 · 24/09/2020 18:10

Yeah I’d had the choice of 6+1 or 7 I’d go for 7 xx

mouldygrapes · 24/09/2020 18:10

I think wait till 7 if you can. Will probably panic you more if there’s not much change. I know it’s hard to wait though

CharlieD2020 · 24/09/2020 21:33

Hi ladies. So sorry for what you're going through @smallpotatoes7 Daffodil thinking of you and glad you're home now. I bet your DC are so glad to have you home.

@bloomety I am with the other ladies here keeping everything crossed for you. Let us know how your early scan goes Flowers

Thanks for your kind and thoughtful messages to me here in the middle of my massive wobble. I've taken a day or so away from Mumsnet and the perils of Googling, and just trying to calm down a bit. I struggle with anxiety anyway so covid has been hard and this much wanted pregnancy just sent me into a bit of a panic. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the advice to try not to stress!

Anyone had any weird pregnancy cravings/aversions yet?

lucymagoo · 24/09/2020 21:46

No cravings but I think the nausea is creeping in. Struggling to finish my food and feel unwell after eating currently. Last week and before I was eating everything in sight and now I've had to lie down after dinner bc I feel so rough Sad I get nauseous at the drop of a hat normally so fully expect to have a rough ride

RustyCat · 24/09/2020 21:53

@CharlieD2020 sometimes it's good to take time away for yourself.

Cravings / aversions...yes potato bread 🤣 genuinely nearly vomited up the other day when I had some potato bread, I normally love it but for some reason the minute it touches my tongue my stomach flipped and said heeeeck no!

mouldygrapes · 24/09/2020 22:13

Yep, I’m finding nausea and aversions creeping in, also sensitivity to smells which I thought had gone away.
I really fancied a smoked salmon bagel yesterday but as soon as I bought it, the thought of eating it made me heave. I saw a dog poo on the street and retched (wouldn’t normally bother me at all!)

I have an acupuncture session tomorrow and I’m hoping she can help (she mentioned before that she can do some work to help modify symptoms).

ohdearymemumof3 · 25/09/2020 08:06

@RustyCat what is potato bread iv never heard of it and I'm intrigued 🤔 haha..

I am 5+2 and have no symptoms at all except my teeth are starting to hurt and I always get bad teeth in pregnancy! Had to have 1 removed and 1 filling last time.. I had some pinky brown blood when wiped yesterday and mild cramps but nothing since so im hoping it was nothing to worry about xx

RustyCat · 25/09/2020 08:56

@ohdearymemumof3 it's an Irish thing 🤣 it's basically mashed potato and flour, rolled out into half cm thick sheet and cut into squares or triangles and baked. But you fry it like fried bread. It's gorgeous

bloomety · 25/09/2020 08:59

Ahh potato scones we call them. I bloody love them.

lucymagoo · 25/09/2020 10:16

That sounds delicious! Or would be if I wasn't so nauseous Sad

mouldygrapes · 25/09/2020 10:50

I’m meeting my mum and sister for lunch today. Not sure how I’m gonna manage that, altho I did feel like (and keep down) a bowl of porridge earlier.
I’m also desperate to tell them but it’s too soon!

bloomety · 25/09/2020 14:36

I think I've got thrush. I've no symptoms other than discharge. At last...a symptom!

CharlieD2020 · 25/09/2020 15:08

Oh no, poor you @bloomety! Thrush is never nice!!

Hope you have a lovely lunch @mouldygrapes! Let us know how you managed your lunch?! We're telling my parents and my in laws tomorrow, it does feel early but I figure we'd tell them if we have a MC and it will be nice to share the news with them! My in laws will absolutely freak out, they have been dropping hints to DH and I since we got married 3 years ago, not subtly either ;)

Interesting to hear about some people's nausea! I'm the same, just feeling a bit green. I tend to feel hungry but don't fancy anything. But then later on something clicks and I want all the food again

lucymagoo · 25/09/2020 15:16

@CharlieD2020 that's so exciting! I bet you're dying to tell them, I cannot stop thinking about how we are going to tell our parents I'm desperate for the next few weeks to hurry.

My nausea is coming and going, it's not particularly strong and sometimes I feel fine, others I feel pretty unwell. In general just a bit rough almost like a hangover, fully expecting it to get worse though

Serz88 · 25/09/2020 16:20

God girls I'm freaking out a bit. Had 3 really quick sharp pains in the center about an inch above my belly button and now I'm thinking the worst!!
I suffer from IBS so I'm trying to be rational and think it's just that or constipation or something.
On a brighter note I've got my widwife appointment for the day after my private scan on the 5th and my first NHS scan on the 4th November

bloomety · 25/09/2020 16:35

Oh try not to worry @Serz88. Your uterus is under your belly button so it's not coming from there. Great news about the appointments! How far gone are you?

I'm absolutely starving. I'm eating everything in sight.

lucymagoo · 25/09/2020 16:49

@Serz88 I've been having increased cramps today it's totally normal. Especially where pregnancy causes digestive issues
