They sound great @naomiB79. I love his to death but sometimes he is really hard work. He always does catch up eventually but it is exhausting a d just don't have the energy. Fingers crossed he is on track now till baby here. Once here I think he will be great for a good long period at the Starr anyway. Novelty will wear off especially once back at his work.

The range for weight gain is pretty huge. Seems to say the heavier you are to start with the less you should put on but depends how high your BMI. Range is like 11-40 pounds. Check with your midwife if concerned.

@jalu47 I don't think anyone here has been diagnosed with gestational diabetes but they also aren't doing the proper test just a blood glucose spot reading rather than the fasting then 3 hours as you say. Surprised they are doing it but it is good that they are for you. My friend had it and is a healthy normal BMI so weight not always and indication. It was manageable. She just had to be careful what she ate and test her levels at points in the day. Xx

Frazzlerock · 06/10/2020 07:11

@NaomiB79 I gained 3 stone with both of my boys.
This one I have gained about 1 and 3/4 stone so far. I thought I'd be heavier by now but there's still 6 weeks to go as of Thurs. I think I started off heavier this time than I did with the boys as I reached 12 stone with them and I'm 11st 6 this morning, so I expect I'll go way over 12 stone this time.

I should probably stop weighing myself really. DP thinks the rest of my body hasn't got much bigger at all, except my hips and thighs (to be expected I think). He said he's really surprised I have stayed "so small" considering the size of my bump so maybe I should just stop with the scales!
I do miss the exercise though, I should probably do some yoga or something but I'm more of a runner really, I love running and really hope it doesn't take too long post section to get back into it!

Is anyone following any good yoga videos I could try out?

Thanks all for advice re weight gain. I have mentioned it to my midwife before and she wasn't concerned. I also had the test for diabetes at 28 weeks and it came back negative so I know I don't have that.

Will just try and be really healthy for the next 6 weeks and then like most of you have said weight myself in the new year (which will be six weeks after my due date) and deal with it then.

I'm due to get married in Jan 2022 so that gives me a good goal to get my weight back down and focus on being healthy. With Covid restrictions likely to get more severe I guess going for lots of walks with the baby is about the only thing I'll be guaranteed I can do once she is here XX

Mumof3almost4 · 06/10/2020 08:24

Thought I'd say hi! I'm 24 weeks due 24th Jan. I'm 39. Hope you're all well Smile

Frazzlerock · 06/10/2020 11:00

@NaomiB79 oooh that's three weddings on the cards now. I'm due to get married in April next year (although beginning to think it still might be too soon re Covid Sad) and @Sheera1's due to get married too - if her DP tows the line Wink. When is your date Sheera?
We've already cancelled ours once, and thought a whole year to postpone would be more than enough but I' not so sure now but I don't know if our suppliers will postpone for a second time.

Hi @Mumof3almost4 welcome to the group and congrats on your pregnancy! Is this your first?

OP posts:
Frazzlerock · 06/10/2020 11:00

ahh sorry, should have noticed from your name that you have 3 already! Doh...

OP posts:
Mumof3almost4 · 06/10/2020 12:54

Thanks @Frazzlerock. Ha yes this is my 4th, big 13 year old gap though!! It really is like starting all over again.
This pregnancy is going scarily fast. I'm also worrying more this time, I was so laid back with my other children.
Exciting times though!!

NaomiB79 · 06/10/2020 13:09

@Frazzlerock I know what you mean re wedding planning so difficult to know how things will be next year....I'm worried we can't have the wedding we want and it's more than a year away! Fingers crossed we can all get married as planned.

@Mumof3almost4 welcome to the group, how's your pregnancy going so far?

Mumof3almost4 · 06/10/2020 13:25

@NaomiB79 thank you! I had the usual sickness and fatigue up to 14 weeks. I then got a second wind and have Ben back to the gym and swimming keeping fit. I'm losing motivation now but think that's the weather too really makes me want to hibernate.
I am getting terrible trapped wind at tea time which is ruining my meals, I love my food so that's disappointing ha.
I'm sat about to officially hand in my mat leave dates and time off but have worried myself a sick that I'm jinxing everything by planning it. I know it is insanely irrational. Is anyone else as daft as me?!?!

Frazzlerock · 06/10/2020 13:48

@Mumof3almost4 I'm definitely more paranoid with this one but I wonder if that's age and being more aware of the things that can go wrong? With my 2 DC I was in my 20's and pretty naive, I think when you're younger you think "that will never happen to me".
I have big age gaps too, my eldest is 15 and youngest 11 so I have forgotten so much stuff, despite spending many years in the childcare sector - but I gave that up 7 years ago.

OP posts:
Mumof3almost4 · 06/10/2020 15:29

@Frazzlerock yes I definitely agree with that.
My eldest is 18, youngest 13. This is my first with my partner so I'm really excited.
I'll have a read through the thread and see where everyone is up to Smile

NaomiB79 · 06/10/2020 16:31

@Mumof3almost4 I'm the same with being quite anxious. This is my first and I'm 41 so I think that this is my only chance to have a child. We tried for a long time to conceive and I have worried the whole way through that something will go wrong. I think it doesn't help that the medics talk constantly about the increased risk of having a child when you are older!

With 6 weeks to go I am super excited tho, can't wait to meet our little girl and be a mummy (although I am terrified about the giving birth bit 🙈) xx

Sheera1 · 06/10/2020 17:19

Hi @mumof3almost4 You are in good company with worrying on this thread. Please feel free to talk about it as we are a good bunch on here. I have 6 weeks to go ytday!! Eeek.

@NaomiB79 yes a other wedding! As Frazz says I am booked for June 2021 wedding having postponed from July 2020 and will be hitting the diet and walking once this one is out. We can motivate each other.

I am fully expecting June 2021 to still have restrictions tbh. Mayne not as severe as the 20 we are allowed in Scotland just now.
We ripped up our plans because of this baby and tbh the planning got out of hand so we got deposits back due to covid and are planning 100 for a catered BBQ at my parents lovely garden and then a bus to a hotel for a dance and buffet. It is costing me a fraction of what we had planned originally and is more us. If we have to 20 or 30 we will still go ahead and move the evening do for another time once we can have everyone.

And yes Frazz if DP behaves. Lol.

Tbh he has stepped up. Came home ytday to a big apology saying he hasn't been taking good enough care of me or being interested enough in baby stuff. Been sticking his head in the sand and letting me worry alone. Was good to hear and hoping he keeps it up. 🙈😁.

Getting pretty tired now but I am juggling full time working from home and home education for my son and today was pretty full on. Find myself getting really grumpy with people not doing their jobs properly a d getting quite stressed.

In good news my boss has arranged that I will do a formal handover of all my clients on 19th October. I still have 4 weeks till mat leave so guess I get to slack off so quite happy about that although my cover is on holiday after that so I will be covering my own clients again straight away which is a bit silly. Or maybe they will have someone else cover...

Think they think I am going to pop early.

Clarkel1 · 06/10/2020 17:35

Hi ladies hope your all doing well , haven't been on in a while been busy decorating moving rooms etc. Everyone keeping ok? That's me 26 weeks now and staring to waddle 😂 quick question does anyone have like pressure down below at this stage? Feel like everything is very low down and like the baby is goi h to come out my ass 😂 sorry TMI... but seriously feel like I have a sore bottom and just pressure down there had it a couple of weeks now, probably just baby getting heavier and heard if it's not your first baby this can happen, anyone else? X

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 06/10/2020 18:49

Hi @Mumof3almost4 welcome to the group!

@Clarkel1 no pressure down below for me but it is very normal and dependant on baby's position.

I've started getting some pretty heavy duty Braxton-Hicks contractions the last day or so. Actually makes me even more impatient for this last stretch to be over and baby here! We might have decided on a name too!!

BuffaloMozzerella · 06/10/2020 19:25

@Clarkel1 I've got quite bad coccyx/tailbone pain which makes my bum ache if that is anything like yours?

Sheera1 · 06/10/2020 19:39

Hi @clarke1 I ma feeling baby really heavy and low and for quite a while now. Sorry if TMI but often when I am constipated I feel it more. Baby is breech so also kicking/standing on my cervix and feels like it wants to fall out!

@@onlyreadingneverposting8 what are the names of your children? Would love to hear them.

We still can't get a boys name. Have about 6 but none really popping out as the one.

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 06/10/2020 20:32

@Sheera1 in age order:

Xanthe
Nikolas
Gregory
Dennis
Hebe
Olympia
Timothy
Perseus

Think we have decided on Ennea (En-ay-a) for the baby. It means born ninth.

Clarkel1 · 06/10/2020 20:47

Yes very sore tailbone can't sit on it properly also Braxton hicks quite bad but sounds like this can be normal xx

BuffaloMozzerella · 06/10/2020 21:07

Poor you. I'm uncomfortable sitting too now - especially on the sofa. Unfortunately I think that's a result of your ligaments loosening up for birth. Do you have a birthing ball yet? I found that SO comfy to sit on and relieve pressure. It seemed to press in all the right places. You could try that and see if it helps.

No idea if it's the same for everyone but I noticed in my last pregnancy that my bump would go really tight and have BH if I'd been doing a lot physically. Like at the end of a long walk. If you've been doing loads of decorating perhaps that could be contributing?

Sheera1 · 06/10/2020 21:46

I LOVE your names @onlyreadingneverposting8!! Esp the new one. It is perfect.

I like Xander but would love Lysander but won't be allowed it. I love Ariadne too. Xxx

jalu47 · 06/10/2020 22:48

@Sheera1 Xander was one of my absolute favourites but figured out DP and I would say it differently - a north / south thing! I would say it more like Zander and he would say it softer, sort of like Sander.. so we've sadly scrapped it!

Frazzlerock · 07/10/2020 07:48

Xander is on our boys list too Grin @jalu47 I would say 'Zander' as well

OP posts:
Frazzlerock · 07/10/2020 07:52

I still keep going back to Seth, Theo or Rafferty. No matter what names I try to think of I go back to those three but Seth seems to stand out the most for me. Although, being from the South East, we run the risk of people saying 'Seff' which will really bother me...
I think we're going to have to wait to see what he/she looks like and then look at our lists again. Poor little thing might be nameless for a day or two!

OP posts:
jalu47 · 07/10/2020 08:32

@Frazzlerock Theo is right up there for me too, as was Joshua and Zachary, but think we've agreed on Benjamin now..
