Hello! So I'm 32+4 with my second, a girl this time 😊 the whole pregnancy has gone quick as been running round after my toddler, though now I know I'm almost there it's going so slowly! So looking for some buddies to compare notes and pass the time with! Though don't know why I want it to hurry up as I know too well the pain and sleepless nights ahead 🤣 just I think uncomfortable enough now to want her out! Everywhere pretty swollen already, hips hurt and wake me up, I pee all the time even in the night, tired and get some braxton hicks. How are others doing?

I keep saying to my husband I’m due a “cervix Service” (sex) 😂 but any time it comes to going to bed I’m shattered and just end up saying “tomorrow” haha . Feels like when we were TTC and became a fun chore haha

Done a walk yesterday and today - I say walk... more like an uncomfortable saddle! Going to get an Indian tomorrow.

COME ON BABIES!

FreyaFirstTimeMum · 19/09/2020 17:04

Elly88 · 19/09/2020 18:02

@FreyaFirstTimeMum cervix service 😂 that is literally it isn't it, I hated ttc too its so awkward and just feel you're doing it for the sake of doing it 🙈 I haven't become desperate enough to put myself through that again yet lol.. Maybe give it another week lol.

Really interesting to hear your experience of a sweep @Elly88. I never found internals uncomfortable (smears or implant) but when I was induced I found it so painful I almost crawled up the bed to get away from it. I'd like to think that was because I was only 38+2 and my body wasnt ready at all. Does anyone else have any experience of what a sweep is like, or has anyone had a sweep and an induction and can compare them?

I'm feeling quite uncomfortable this afternoon. My belly has felt quite sore and very tight. Got a back ache now. I wouldn't say its cramps, but definitely twinges. Not expecting it to be anything, just another joy of being almost 39w xx

Elly88 · 19/09/2020 18:30

@spark27 yes I've heard that internals whilst pregnant are very painful for most so I was pleasantly surprised when it didn't hurt at all, neither did examinations to see how dilated I was in labour either 🤷🏼‍♀️ not complaining, hoping for the same this time!

I don't think I'll be getting a "cervix service" tonight haha, DH seems to have caught dds cold and is lying on the sofa, while for once I'm full of energy.
I found internals painful and cried the first time I had it 😬
Hope everyone feeling well tonight

UserFriendly14 · 19/09/2020 20:34

Cervix service 😂 This is the thread that keeps on giving!

I mean if we’re really getting into it, I loved TTC. It felt like there was a purpose to it all. DS anyway... this one was “not trying, but not surprised”

@elly88 hope there’s been some wriggles- I always have days like that where I get 2 minutes to think and suddenly can’t remember the last time I felt anything of note. Hopefully a curry will get her moving again!

@spark27 From what I remember, my sweeps were worse than my induction (pessary). More discomfort than actual pain. I say I had two, but really a student did it and then the MW did one straight after to ensure it was all good.
I think because I still vividly remember being stitched up after birth, no pain will compare! (Big up to the head MW who put her finger into my stitches to check they’d held... bitch)

@MrsK89 Hope DH is feeling better soon- they have no idea how hard we have it, do they?!

Elly88 · 19/09/2020 20:50

@UserFriendly14 oh god don't talk to me about being stitched up, the midwifewas doing mine for aaaaages saying she'd rather it were perfect before then deciding she couldn't so it and called a doctor in who took them all out and started again 😭😭😭 I had to ask them to inject me again but could still feel it, was the worst part about the whole birth!!
Yes she has been wriggling thank you, my trouble is she's always been such an active baby that she still moves but just not as much or so vigorously sometimes so it's hard to know whether you need to call or not! But as she was only checked a week ago I highly doubt anything is wrong, just been a busy day. I'll see how things go tomorrow and hope for labour in the meantime!

He's fine @UserFriendly14 just feeling sorry for himself. Currently have no sympathy as my heartburn is back and my legs are restless and aching lol

Elly88 · 20/09/2020 07:34

Woke up this morning feeling deflated like nothing is going to happen unleast until after my sweep. So rather grumpy at the fact that I have a whole other week to get through plus possibly longer 😞 I am so so done, why does everyone else I know get to have slightly early diddy babies and mine are late 😩

Nicalo2019 · 20/09/2020 08:16

@elly88 feel exactly same as you this morning. Am so fed up, went to sleep at 6 last night and didn't wake up til 7 this morning just feel exhausted. Feeling sick too so not wanting to each much, was hoping it was the start of something but nothing so far.

Went for a walk yesterday n been on the ball but nothing. Feel like I'm going to have another week of this u til my sweep 😔

Elly88 · 20/09/2020 08:41

@Nicalo2019 so rubbish isn't it. Other halves clearly don't understand why we feel so fed up either. Doing my absolute head in today, so done with these hormones!! So bored and trying to pass time. Just want some form of normal back. Be just my luck she won't be engaged and won't be able to have a sweep next week lol.

Spark27 · 20/09/2020 09:01

Sorry you're feeling so rubbish today girls. I'm celebrating being 39w by sending DH out to pick up a McD breakfast. Taking advantage of the fact he cant really say no to me. 😅

While I'm fed up of being uncomfortable I dont really want anything to happen til next weekend. Out for lunch on Monday, then got to take the cat to the vets on tuesday, and got car MOT on Friday. So it will be a lot easier if baby stays put til friday pm. I did manage to sleep for about 7hrs last night, without a wee wake up, so that probably explains the good mood xx

UserFriendly14 · 20/09/2020 09:34

Also sorry that you’re both feeling the blues today. Flowers I know we keep saying it but really, not long to go now. DH has gone out on a bike ride and has said that he won’t be more than a hour from home- McDs breakfast sounds better though!

(Also sorry for this but...) It’s due date day for me and baby!! 🥳 I am 40 weeks today and I am all too aware that nothing is going to happen any time soon! 😂 I’m going to keep busy this week, with my MW app on Wednesday too, hopefully it won’t be too much longer.

Elly88 · 20/09/2020 10:11

@UserFriendly14 happy due date!! Though sorry you're still waiting. Rubbish you have to wait until Wednesday for your midwife appt.
Can't seem to find anything to put myself in a better mood. So annoying as I'm bored at home but don't have energy to go out so DH taken DS out, feel like should be making the most of our family time as a 3 but i just get so easily wound up I'm better on my own! Just want this limbo to end. Sorry I'm such a misery guts today lol

If there’s anything I can say to help with the alone time, just remember that in a few weeks (at most!) you’ll have a newborn permanently attached to you, so make the most of it now! DH took DS to the beach yesterday afternoon when he was playing up and it was a lovely sunny day, but I just couldn’t bring myself to join them.

Definitely going to ask about induction at this app, as I don’t want to wait until next week when I’ll be 41+3.

Elly88 · 20/09/2020 10:48

@UserFriendly14 yes very true. Glad I'm not the only one who can't bring myself to join them. So hard for other people to understand why though isn't it. Don't blame you re asking about induction. I'd take it now if I was offered I think!

Cherryrainbow · 20/09/2020 13:23

I'm due on 25th. Midwife booked an appointment for 29th in case nothing happens to get things moving along.

I've got a cold off my son so I'm spending most my time taking paracetamol, crying and panicking,, just want to get it over with now :( the midwife tried to "reassure" me by saying it its just a cold I will be fine but if I have covid symptoms I will likely be alone in the hospital... great.

booroo · 20/09/2020 14:28

Hugs @Cherryrainbow my daughter gave me a cold the last few days it's absolutely horrible, but I found when I sat and did nothing for a entire day rather than try and carry with everything I was a lot better the next day.. maybe worth trying.. I had all the same fears as you and paracetamol really doesn't touch it does it 🤣 first time in ages I actually wanted baby to stay put as couldn't imagine labouring like it x

Nicalo2019 · 20/09/2020 16:40

Thought something was happening today, still feeling massively sick, but started to get some back and stomach pains at dinner time. Sadly they went as soon as they arrived. Nothing since Confused

Elly88 · 20/09/2020 18:03

Update - been back in today for reduced movements and as now 39 weeks they advised to be induced, which is now happening tomoro as they have beds to spare! All rather a whirlwind which I guess is good not to have time to worry too much about it. Now feeling guilty I didn't go out with DH and DS today, going to miss him but hopefully I'll be quick and not take days.
Sorry to hear more of you have colds, it really is horrendous, thankfully mine is gone apart from needing to clear my throat and voice a little croaky.
Good luck to all!

MrsK89 · 20/09/2020 18:10

Aww @elly88 wishing you the best of luck for tomorrow, hope it all goes well

UserFriendly14 · 20/09/2020 19:05

@Elly88 I’m sorry about reduced movements, but thrilled you’re getting your baby early! No more bouncing and everything else under the sun! It’ll all be fine, I’m sure. Are you in hospital overnight?

Spark27 · 20/09/2020 19:50

Hope all goes well @Elly88. Oddly I'm heading in for 2030 for reduced movements too. Felt her a bit today but not as much as normal and know I'll just be worrying otherwise.
Been getting a few pains down low and (tmi) been going to the toilet a LOT today. Hopefully I'll just get some reassurance and head back home tonight. But been running through everything with DH in case he needs to sort stuff from home and get in x

UserFriendly14 · 20/09/2020 20:15

@Spark27 Hope all goes OK with you too. These girls are already playing us up! Better to check it all out.

Not sure if this one has been a bit quieter today or if it’s because I’ve just had a full day with DS. Finally now sat down and she’s about- the last few nights she’s been crazy active at night, so I’m not too worried at the moment.
