Hello! So I'm 32+4 with my second, a girl this time 😊 the whole pregnancy has gone quick as been running round after my toddler, though now I know I'm almost there it's going so slowly! So looking for some buddies to compare notes and pass the time with! Though don't know why I want it to hurry up as I know too well the pain and sleepless nights ahead 🤣 just I think uncomfortable enough now to want her out! Everywhere pretty swollen already, hips hurt and wake me up, I pee all the time even in the night, tired and get some braxton hicks. How are others doing?

Lurker here 😜 I’m 38+1 and have very much enjoyed reading all your messages on here over the last couple weeks haha

Definitely with you all on the frustration - I’ve always been convinced that I’ll be over (anyone I know whether family or friends have been over) but then randomly I keep symptom checking (period like cramping and loose bowels seem to be my go to)

Trying not to do it too much though as I know I’m going to be disappointed and I don’t want to feel that way!

So glad to be off work now, spending most my days sleeping! I have most my energy in the morning then bam 11 am hits and I don’t get a second wind til about 6 pm.

Nicalo2019 · 15/09/2020 13:49

Ye people keep saying to me you will just know when it happens, I'm sure I will just getting little impatient now. He seems to be sitting very low today so that's a good sign, will get back on the ball!

MrsK89 · 15/09/2020 13:57

@elly88 have you tried propping your bed up a bit with pillows. It might help you sleep better.
I have been called in for monitoring as one of my blood levels (liver) was a bit high, so just waiting for the kids to finish school then off I pop

SunStruck · 15/09/2020 15:36

@Nicalo2019 @FreyaFirstTimeMum I am also a first time mum and an 38+1 at the momenT, I feel absolutely Nada in terms of tightenings or possibility that the baby will come soon 😅 I went for a scan yesterday and the the dr said the head is not engaged yet - even though I feel lots of pressure down there Hmm wonder what it feels like when the head engages!

I fully expect to go over 😄

FreyaFirstTimeMum · 15/09/2020 15:41

@SunStruck I’m 4/5s engaged as of a week ago... for me just feels like the constant urge to pee, but in a slightly painful way!

Due date buddies then!

SunStruck · 15/09/2020 15:46

@FreyaFirstTimeMum oh! Yes due date twins 😄 I'm also much more tired now, I need a nap before or after lunch for sure... even if I've slept super well the night before! 😴

I have an induction date booked for 6th if October if it doesn't start naturally, what about you?

Elly88 · 15/09/2020 20:11

@MrsK89 I can't sleep sat up unfortunately and to be fair, was so bunged up I couldn't breathe normally never mind laying down. But starting to feel much better after my 2 hour lunch nap so hopefully I'll have a good night's sleep and be back to moaning why isn't she here yet in the morning 🤣
How did your check up go @MrsK89?
My body must be feeling better as the braxton hicks have started to slowly get up again and having some twinges as if she's burying down lower.
Anyone else having more symptoms yet?

OP posts:
FreyaFirstTimeMum · 15/09/2020 20:30

@SunStruck nothing booked right now (next midwife appointment on 24th so potentially then) but they’ve said they would recommend 12 days over so the 10th October I expect (which will be funny because my first wedding anniversary is the 12th so could be that she arrives then!)

FreyaFirstTimeMum · 15/09/2020 20:33

@Elly88 I keep having of and on again cramps (feels like a period) but only for. An hour a day then it goes. Also bowel movements are happening waaaay more than normal!

I keep bouncing on my birthing ball and telling little girl to get a move on 😂

MrsK89 · 15/09/2020 22:57

Oh yes @elly88 I feel the pain twinges like baby is nestling further down. Currently having bad side and back pains, trying to sleep.
Check up was OK, they redid my bloods and will hopefully call back tomorrow. Doctor wants to send me for another abdo scan as last abdo scan which was a few months ago showed I had gallstones, but as I'm not getting any pains with it, they seem to just want to leave it as it is. Got quite a few tightenings while on the ctg but couldn't feel them. Was in the hospital for a few hours and I'm now exhaustedddd. Trying to sleep but my back is really hurting 😔 and baby is non stop kicking
Hope everyone has a good night x

Elly88 · 16/09/2020 07:12

Night wasn't too bad, woke up few times as usual but could at least sleep and went back off pretty quickly each time, though DS woke up at 1am with a temperature so. Was sat up with him reading books for about an hour until the Calpol kicked in and he cooled down, thankfully he went back off OK after that. Missing the time where he slept 13 hours straight and woke up at 8am! Another day where ill be needing to try and get a nap in, just the morning to get through... Thankfully my cold is feeling better, just groggy now.
Definitely reckon she's moved down further though as my hips hurt last night after not being too bad for a while.
Though ideally DS will be better and back to normal and all bugs gone before she gets here. Now I feel like I need to rewash all her next to me bedding I'd put on ready as I've probably got cold germs over it all - effort 😩

Welcome all!

I’ll catch up properly ASAP, but as usual, there’s nothing to report here. Same as you @Elly88, had a good night’s sleep, bar the odd wide awake thinking about movements panic but I soon got back off.

It was my birthday yesterday so now I’m just glad that i don’t have to share it with baby! Grin Took DS to the zoo for the day and walked 2.5 miles, so if this doesn’t encourage her to arrive, nothing will!

Elly88 · 16/09/2020 16:34

@UserFriendly14 hope the walk gets things going for you! I must be feeling better as currently expressing bouncing on my ball, getting braxton hicks. I could probably do with more sleep first but that's never guaranteed when you're a mum already is it 🙈 reckon I'll soon be back to my want her out moany self 😂
Hope everyone else is getting on OK. We must start getting some babies soon surely?!

OP posts:
UserFriendly14 · 16/09/2020 17:12

I think the walk over did it, as I’ve not had the energy to do a thing today and I’ve also picked up a cold. DH managed to wake up DS (OK and myself!) halfway through the afternoon nap too Angry

Had a few random pains this afternoon, which I think are just braxton hicks- how do you all stand them and not wonder if you’re going into labour every time?!

Elly88 · 16/09/2020 18:24

@UserFriendly14 oh noooo not the dreaded cold! I hope it's not a bad one and you recover quickly! It's the worst. It does cross my mind it could be the start of labour when u get braxton hicks but I think cos I get them so often and they don't really hurt that I don't really think it's labour at the time. I'm still expecting to wait for some sign of plug or show first, don't know why.
DS hasn't eaten a thing today but doesn't seem as snotty, praying he is so tired he sleeps through and is more back to normal tomoro, otherwise ill be worrying so bad if I go into labour and can't be with him!

OP posts:
FreyaFirstTimeMum · 16/09/2020 20:00

I think I’ve had some of the plug but no bloody show so just ignoring it for now as when I’ve read it’s only the bloody show that really implies labour could be soon.

Husband has mad me a curry with a whole chilli and MIL is dropping off some spicy soup tomorrow 🙈 if baby doesn’t come Put something else certainly will 😂

FreyaFirstTimeMum · 16/09/2020 20:01

*come out

Elly88 · 16/09/2020 20:05

@FreyaFirstTimeMum ohg exciting, how many weeks are you now? Hopefully you're bloody show will follow!

MrsK89 · 16/09/2020 20:54

DD has been sneezing all day and I've got a sore throat 😑
Pains have slowed down but I'm getting pressure when walking around.
How's everyone feeling this evening x

Spark27 · 16/09/2020 22:56

I'm feeling pretty crap tonight but that's mostly because baby is being really active and kicking my arse. It's like she's fully stretching out- head down low, feet constantly in my ribs and making me feel sick, and arms stretched out either side.
Apart from that it's just the usual with an aching back, constantly needing to wee, etc.
Hoping I get some sleep tonight as I've got a fairly busy day tomorrow. Hoping we all manage some sleep xx

Elly88 · 17/09/2020 06:31

Had quite a good night all things considered, DS woke a few times but went back off himself thankfully. I only got up to pee a handful of times compared to normal and slept fairly well, despite DS's early wake this morning. Feel like my cold is almost gone thank god, so sorry to hear others are now ill, its the worst 😞
My hips and back are hurting again. Was getting twinge braxton hicks last night but nothing came of it.

OP posts:
UserFriendly14 · 17/09/2020 09:55

Hope you’re all feeling better, or at least brighter today. Surely one of us must have an early baby?!

I had some excruciating daggers yesterday, to the point I was doubled up and shouting in pain- DH thought I must be in labour!

I think my body won’t allow me to be ill right now as my cold isn’t coming out. Still feel lacking in energy but that’s true of any time! Now doing this weeks meal plan/shopping list and keeping it simple- just in case!

Spark27 · 17/09/2020 13:37

Just been for my 38w appt (38+4) and baby has now dropped to the 3rd centile, and is less engaged so not just burrowing down. Waiting for a call from the hospital for either a scan (they were fully booked til tues so are seeing if they can re-jig) or monitoring. Still getting lots of movement, but due to the size measuring so small they have to check. Damn babies. Just had to make sure mine and babys hospital bags are finished, and DD's bag is done, and I have a smaller bag for overnight tonight just in case. Urgh. xx

UserFriendly14 · 17/09/2020 13:40

Oh @Spark27 Flowers What are we all like with our baby’s sizes! Better to be safe than sorry but I’m sure you’ll get on OK.

We’ll all laugh about all of this in a couple of weeks- if we’re not too sleep deprived!

Elly88 · 17/09/2020 14:00

@UserFriendly14 hope those daggers are the slow beginning of something for you! Remind me how many weeks you are now?
I've gotten a fair few stretchy braxton hicks so far today, my mum arrives shortly for whilst my mother in law is away so really hoping baby does turn up by tomorrow just to prove me right, and also to have my ow mum not MIL here 🤣🙈 doubtful...
@spark27 wow 3rd centile! That's mad they can't get you in for a scan until Tuesday?! I hope you get some answers soon, or even better, a baby! Do you think if they can't scan you they'll induce you as you're term anyway?
The good news is Doctor called and I don't have a urine infection, even she was asking if I've had any contractions yet lol!
Bad news is DS fell asleep this morning whilst I was on the phone and so was lage going for his lunch nap and resisted for ageeeees, thankfully he gave in so shouldn't be too off routine - do you need it with a newborn 🙈 he's still barely eating though and rather whingey! Least I have my mum here until tomoro tea time and then it's the weekend so DH around, surely he should be back to normal by Monday. I'll be 39 weeks then so haven't made any plans, partly because everything is so uncomfortable, partly because I want to lay low, but DS won't approve of no plans 😬 hopefully the last week of entertaining him this pregnant
