Hello! So I'm 32+4 with my second, a girl this time 😊 the whole pregnancy has gone quick as been running round after my toddler, though now I know I'm almost there it's going so slowly! So looking for some buddies to compare notes and pass the time with! Though don't know why I want it to hurry up as I know too well the pain and sleepless nights ahead 🤣 just I think uncomfortable enough now to want her out! Everywhere pretty swollen already, hips hurt and wake me up, I pee all the time even in the night, tired and get some braxton hicks. How are others doing?

I just had to Google curb walking- I thought it was a euphemism! 🤣

Elly88 · 12/09/2020 20:48

@UserFriendly14 hope it is the start of things for you!
Never heard of curb walking either lol will have to give that a Google!
I'm currently in the triage unit as had to report slight reduced movements, I'm not worried as she's still moving but got told off a few days ago by midwife when ididnt report her having less wriggly days. And they wanted me to come in but all looking fine and if course she's moving loads now - whys that always happen?! Still having decent BH, nice to see those on screen so I know I'm not imagining lol, and also hear her heartbeat, makes me more excited :) and more real! Bizarre though walking past the delivery room I was in with DS a mere 20 months ago!

MrsK89 · 12/09/2020 20:54

@elly88 hope all is OK at triage. Happened to me aswel, I went to fmau the other day with bad cramps all over which vanished soon as I got there 🙄

@Crumbsinthecarpet bouncing on the ball is meant to help, currently doing that right now for pains x

Elly88 · 12/09/2020 21:52

Thank you, home again now. Hospital was very quiet so was seen to really quickly thankfully! She's all good as expected, though the midwife commented on all the braxton hicks I was getting and how it might not be too long and to call back if they got painful or more regular. They are continuing and do feel more stretchy/slightly painful but I had that for weeks with ds so not holding my breath.

Crumbsinthecarpet · 13/09/2020 05:06

@UserFriendly14 hahaha 😂 it makes you look a right tool doing it, walking one foot on the road and one on the pavement haha!

@Elly88 glad to hear you are ok, horrible when you worry about reduced movement, I often am and then I'm on the brink of ringing triage and then BOOM flurry of feet! Good to know about the Braxton Hicks being a good sign! Getting loads here too, feel like they are more or less constantly going on!

@MrsK89 doing lots of ball bouncing but to no avail yet, at least it's very comfortable!!

Booking another reflexology for Tuesday a few hours after my sweep is booked, so even if I go and can't have my sweep I'll still have something positive going on that day to get things moving!

UserFriendly14 · 13/09/2020 05:41

@Elly88 Glad all is well, but I know how worrying and scary reduced movements can be. Was DH able to be with you or did you have to go on your own?

@Crumbsinthecarpet oh I’m passed the point of caring what I look like at the moment! It’s the most freeing thing about being this heavily pregnant 😂

Still thinking of you @mistletoeprickles and hope you’re getting on OK.

Pains went away pretty much as soon as I posted 🙄 I think I’m still on the look out for any sign at all, but being induced again wouldn’t be the end of the world- at least I’d already be in hospital to labour.

Went out for a family meal last night and while it was lovely, I woke up with the most horrendous heartburn two hours ago. I tried to ignore it and go back to sleep, but I am now on the sofa with milk and my first Gaviscon in 2 weeks.

I am 39 weeks today! I feel like I’ve been saying or thinking 39w for a good few days though, so it doesn’t feel too different but only 1 week until due date!

Elly88 · 13/09/2020 08:36

@UserFriendly14 no wasn't allowed, had to go alone but tbh it was quite nice 😂 I wasn't there long. Probs would annoy me more then not being allowed if we didn't have a toddler needing one of us at home anyway.
Well BH all died off in the night, starting up a bit again this morning but I really don't think it's a sign of anything. Eurghhh, 2 more weeks! Was really hoping to go into labour this weekend so I don't have to entertain DS myself in the horrible heatwave over the next few days! Still can't think of what to do

Elly88 · 13/09/2020 12:02

Nestings kicked in today - cleaning everything in sight and done the gardening, though not sure it's done my back any good.. Think I'm running out of energy now hopefully it will have stimulated some more BH at least and not just knackered me out 🤣

Crumbsinthecarpet · 13/09/2020 18:34

I'm going to give this thread a break for a few days as I'm symptom spotting like nobody's business and it's driving me mad! As of today, I've decided to book a section for 41 weeks, on the 25th September, as I don't want to go through the process of induction, and I'm going to assume that that will be the date she is born and stop trying to wish her to come early, as every night I'm going to bed thinking "I might go into labour tonight" 😂 I hope everyone has a good next few days and that next time I come on this thread hopefully there will be some lovely healthy and happy babies and mummys! Love to all 💐

UserFriendly14 · 13/09/2020 19:42

Aw completely understandable @Crumbsinthecarpet. If we don’t hear from you before, hope it all goes well. Flowers

On a similar level, I’m telling myself now that, as with DS, I won’t have so much as a twinge and will have to be induced. It does take the mental pressure off and just go with the flow. It easier to tell myself there’s still 2 weeks to go, rather than it could happen at any moment.

Elly88 · 13/09/2020 20:42

Definitely sounds the healthier way to think, but I just can't help myself! I think I know DD will follow same as DS and not show a peep until at least after sweep following due date, but that's still 2 weeks away and I'm so miserable, I think the idea that I Could go into labour any minute is the only thing that keeps me going! But I do just then get really disappointed and more grumpy. DH doesn't understand and says helpful things like 'I think she'll keep you waiting' if only they knew how uncomfortable we are!!

OP posts:
Spark27 · 13/09/2020 20:50

Haha, I seem to be the opposite. I'm also 38w today and not expecting anything to happen for at least another 2 weeks. As I was induced with DD and had all the drugs I have no idea what it feels like to go into labour, so I'm not really watching out for anything. Unless I have a bloody show or my waters break before 40w I'm just going to carry on with ignorance being bliss! I'm expecting to go over and be induced, so I'll be really surprised if things kick off naturally. I'm just pleased to have finished work, and hopefully get a few days to chill while DD is at nursery. If only I could sleep more than about 4hrs a night I'd be happy x

MrsK89 · 13/09/2020 21:04

I can't help myself either, I am constantly symptom spotting.
Legs are so achy at night now, so googling any symptoms keeps me busy haha. It doesn't help my family keep asking me if there's any more symptoms because they don't think I'll make my induction date!
Has anyone been having really vivid dreams. I couldn't sleep last night as my dreams kept freaking me out 😬

mistletoeprickles · 14/09/2020 01:57

Hey all just a quick update from me.
I'm still here and still pregnant for now! I've had all the steroids but my god they are such a painful thing to have.
I'm booked for section on Tuesday so it's just a waiting game now.
I've finally got a night where they dont need prod and poke me but after 4 hours sleep I'm very hot and I'm no longer tired apparently!
Baby is playing up a lot and I'm having to have longer periods of monitoring because of reduced movements so it has proved admitting me was the right decision, it's just very hard when I've also got the others at home who need me just a much.
I'll pop back later to catch up with everyone else Flowers

Elly88 · 14/09/2020 04:44

Been having really painful lower back ache since about 9pm, feels like it does radiate like contractions sometimes but can only feel pain in my back nothing in my tummy? Haven't been able to sleep much from the pain, got a hot water bottle out which got me a couple hours sleep. Can't tell if it's the very slow burning start of something or if I just overdid it in the garden yesterday?! Can't tell if tummy tightening when I get the pains, it's more when I'm laying down in bed trying to sleep that it hurts. Anyone have this in previous labour's?
Also think I'm developing a cold which is just great bloody timing. Thank god DS off to MIL Monday and Tuesday afternoons this week!
@mistletoeprickles one more day to go, you can do this 🤞🏻 won't be long till your back home with all your little ones plus the new addition hopefully.

OP posts:
MrsK89 · 14/09/2020 12:01

@mistletoeprickles ahhh good luck for tomorrow xx

@elly88 could well be the start of something. Some women start with back pains before the lower tummy pains.
I've been getting back aches and really funny feeling down below when baby turns, like the baby is dropping even lower.

How many weeks are you now? I had around 1 day full of tightenings before I went into labour previously x

Elly88 · 14/09/2020 13:27

@MrsK89 kept going until DS woke up at 5.30am with a god awful cold and seems I have it too. So no idea if it's to do with that or just early labour that stalled and may start up again? I'm 38+1. For the first time in forever now hoping baby doesn't arrive until this cold is gone. Feel horrendous. I seem to remember getting ill around this time carrying DS too - is there such thing as immune system lowering before labour?!
Someone suggested a urine infection but other than the back ache last night (which was rather painful) I have no symptoms and back is OK now so surely if it was an infection it would be there still? All very strange

OP posts:
MrsK89 · 14/09/2020 14:26

I'm sure I felt slightly feverish before I had previous babies, do you have a midwife number you can call? You may aswel get your urine checked for infection and ask them if you are still feeling rubbish.
I had a bit of a temp yesterday and today I feel fine just lower bump niggles, but I'm constantly symptom checking so don't think that's helping haha.
I do hope you feel better soon, but call your midwife/triage in the meantime x

UserFriendly14 · 14/09/2020 20:53

@mistletoeprickles hope it all goes well tomorrow!! Very exciting to have our first arrival!

That’s exactly how I am @Spark27!

I told MIL that I was going with the idea I’ll be induced, so hopefully she’ll stop asking if I’ve had any twinges now. It sounds awful I know, but it just gives me the rage!

Hope you’re both getting ok today @elly88 and @MrsK89

As usual nothing to report here, apart from most of the night/all morning worrying about baby’s movements. I keep telling myself that it isn’t out of the ordinary for her and have had a very active afternoon and now evening. I remember getting this worked up about DS’ too and I’m so over it now. It’s leaving me mentally drained and I kept snapping at DS this morning as it was bothering me. 😞

Elly88 · 15/09/2020 07:01

Thanks @MrsK89 I worry thought about having to wear a mask with a cold I literally wouldn't be able to breathe! And also that they'll pack me off for covid testing but I know it's just a cold, all our friends have had colds. I don't have any burning or stinging like you'd normally get with a water infection, my back still hurts sometimes but feels more like a sciatic twinge and dull general pregnancy ache that comes and goes. But I do feel like I always need to pee but again just general pregnancy? For the first time ever I'm saying hopefully she'll continue to hold off until this colds at least, then if my backs still bad I'll get my urine checked out.
Good luck @mistletoeprickles thinking of you today!!
Hope the rest of you are all well

OP posts:
Flower81 · 15/09/2020 08:40

All the best today @mistletoeprickles. Hope all goes smoothly.

And hope you're feeling better soon @Elly88

MrsK89 · 15/09/2020 09:21

These masks are hard enough without a cold so I understand, hope you feel better soon.
Getting a bit of pressure today front and back but nothing else really today

Nicalo2019 · 15/09/2020 11:31

Hi all, hope I can join here. Am 38+4 with my first baby. Due on 25th September but hoping for earlier, feeling huge and fed up right now.

Been bouncing on ball to try bring him sooner but to no avail yet. With it being my first I'm worried I won't even know when labour's starting. How did others feel before Labour started?

Thanks

MrsK89 · 15/09/2020 12:31

Hi @Nicalo2019
You usually will know as tightenings become more painful and more frequent and you may get more painful backaches and loose bowels
Saying that, with my 1st I was induced because I had pinky red discharge.
If you are worried you could be in labour deffo call your triage and they will advise.

Elly88 · 15/09/2020 12:52

Lower back ache crept in again so DH took urine sample to the doctors for me lol, so thankfully got away without wearing a mask or having to be sent miles away for covid testing (don't have a temp just a very snotty nose). Doctor said there is a small amount of white blood cells but not enough for her to tell so sent it off to the lab to be sure and will hear Thursday. Thankfully my body seems to be allowing me to recover so far before starting anything again! Didn't sleep at all again last night as couldn't breathe, managed to have a couple hours nap when DH took morning off. Just try and get a trip to tesco in this afternoon and make it through to bedtime!
@MrsK89 hope it's the start of something for you!
Welcome @Nicalo2019 it sounds cringey, but you'll just know. All the times I thought 'is this it?' it wasn't, when it did start for me, it was like BH that then got stronger and I just knew, no question about it. They'll be more of a rythym to the contractions too. You'll definitely know before babys well on the way, no mistaking that pain 😂
