Can I just check with you all, how many weeks along (from date of last period) have/are you planning to contact your GP or maternity unit to book in your first appointment? I don't want to do it to soon and have to tell them I've lost it if it's a chemical again... but I also don't want my booking to end up being late if I hold off 🤔

@2020mission I contacted my GP on the day I confirmed it (day after AF due for me) and sorted my booking appt. seems to be different rules everywhere though!

When I was pregnant with DD I rang the doctors but I've read a few people mentioning calling the midwives directly and it's been quicker to get an apppintment? Is this just contacting the local midwife team? How do I find the number to call and what do I say? I only had a baby 10 months ago and I feel like I've forgotten everything already

Hi @clueless987, I rang my GP to ask the question. They explained that the GP no longer sees you at my practice, to confirm pregnancies and was advised to call the local midwife team. I asked for the number and went from there!

I did that on the Monday and had my appointment letter through the post yesterday for my first scan.

Obviously the timescale or process may be different dependant on where you are located! X

Anyone who is on their second, third, fourth baby...were your symptoms very different between them all? I don’t have the sore boobs like I did last time, they just feel very heavy. It’s still really early but the lack of symptoms is slightly unnerving as last time I had no symptoms it was a mc (for me personally, my SIL has no pregnancy symptoms and had a healthy baby!) I’m not too anxious, what will be will be but interested to hear your experiences.

@Jigglypuff88 I had really bad bloating and sore boobs with my first but I was taking progesterone at the time so it was probably a side effect of that!! Really nothing of note this time. I did have a little bit of heartburn, that's gone, I did have some cramps and poking pains, also gone! Nothing but a few tests to prove it's really happening. It's really quite nerve wracking (but maybe they symptoms are about to kick in? I'm not 6 weeks till Monday!)

@Jigglypuff88 this is my second. I looked back at some messages to my mum from last time, I didn't have any sickness until almost 9 weeks, I'm 5+3. I wish I'd written what symptoms I had and when. Because I really don't remember.

@Jigglypuff88 this is DC3 and I have on off nausea, lost my appetite and heavy but not painful boobs like you say. Also used the rest of my tests just to ease my mind. 6+1.

Hi all, transferring here from my supportive TTC thread. Got my BFP this morning, AF was due yesterday so really early days at the moment. It's mine and DH's first baby and our 2nd cycle TTC, so it's all happening a bit quick. Got constant gentle cramping at the moment and have had a metallic taste in my mouth for a few days..

It's good to see some familiar faces. How are you getting on @Lettie365 ? Is @FoxtrotOscarPoppet on here too?

@glastogal @PreggersMcPreggers @chrissagcat thanks for sharing! My nausea kicked in around 7 weeks and was awful until 14 weeks. Just feels different this time, if I didn’t know by peeing on a stick I’d probably not know. I’m only 4+5 so extremely early on yet.

@Jigglypuff88 I'm on number 4, there will be 5 children altogether as we have DSD full time.
Completely unplanned but very happy about it.

@Jigglypuff88 this is my 3rd pregnancy (last one was a mmc). In all I've had on off nausea and food aversions from 4/5 weeks. My averaions haven't been strong yet this time, more I just can't find anything I fancy to eat. First pregnancy with my dd my boobs were so sore until 6/7 weeks. This time and last time not so much, I'm trying not to stress as I know every pregnancy can have different symptoms but I'm also still breastfeeding my daughter so guess my boobs are already primed!

Happy with my line progression! I had a few frers left. Used my first digital today.

@Jigglypuff88 thank you. I have had food aversions and been sensitive to smells but other than that no other symptoms apart from tiredness.

Hi hope I can jump on! Had my BFP on 5th August which was 14dpo for me and 1 day before AF was due (I have 34 day cycles and last period was 3rd July).

I’m worried that I didn’t get my BFP until 14dpo! My lines have gotten darker but not a massively! My last pregnancy was ectopic and I lost my tube... I’m just so worried there’s something wrong.

I’m in for an early scan on Friday so hopefully they can locate the pregnancy.

I keep getting twinges on the sides and funnily enough, the side I lost my tube, not sure if this is something to worry about!

@thirteen92 maybe you got the ovulation date wrong? My lines haven't looked as strong as others have posted at 13 DPO but they are getting darker too. I guess the implantation day is more important than DPO as we could be the same DPO but have implanted on different dates making hcg levels different!

Hi @thirteen92 if you look at mine the 5th is 12dpo and not dark atall ! I've been experiencing cramps on both sides and apprently this is normal

I tested my ovulation and got a positive opk on CD 19 so I’m expecting I ovulated on CD20. I think that’s why I’m worrying so much! I’m testing again in morning which will be 17dpo and 48hrs after my last test.

@thirteen92 I'd say that is good progression, even if you are 16dpo. Its definitely getting darker, you could have implanted late...

@thirteen92 when I found out I was pregnant with my DD I was taking tests literally every day (POAS addict) and I didn't get a BFP until 14 dpo and my DD was fine and the test was so light it was barely noticeable

I just wrote an essay and doesnt look like it posted 😭 gutted
