That's not cool @whiteolive - I'd be gutted too. So weird that they never said anything!

whiteolive · 28/07/2020 22:00

@glastogal I’ve had to text them all tonight saying please don’t say anything to anyone else otherwise by the time it comes round to announcing, everyone will already know 🙁 haven’t even had a congratulations!! Feel a bit deflated actually as this is our first baby.

2020wish · 28/07/2020 22:02

@whiteolive that’s a bit out of order he has told people without u knowing and so strange they haven’t congratulated u.

whiteolive · 28/07/2020 22:20

@2020wish , I’m glad it’s not me overreacting and others think it’s out of order..

I find it strange too. His sister had 2 boys then when she fell pregnant last year with her now 3 month old baby girl, they acted like it was an inconvenience!

Missyrogan8 · 29/07/2020 06:08

Thanks guys!!! :) congratulations to you all too!! :D

@whiteolive wow yeah I'd be miffed if my partner done that, but even more annoyed if I didn't get a congratulations from them!! How odd!!...

Also I'm same boat regarding docotors mine haven't t been very helpful either. Considering the private scan might look up my local epu. Any little cramp I think the worst. Think it's just the fear from last time. x x,

chrissagcat · 29/07/2020 06:48

I honestly thought my self referral would send me off until 6 weeks as she put me on hold so long!

Just took a CB as the one I took Monday said not pregnant. Giving me a bit more confidence as I have zero symptoms (apart from lots of naps?) oh and husband finally believes it!

@whiteolive that's so disappointing! Hope he keeps it from everyone else until you are ready

@Missyrogan8 my local EPU won’t scan you unless you have bleeding but I’ve found a place in my town that does the reassurance scans for £65 😊 I guess from the docs perspective there’s not much they can do in these early days anyway, it just feels like we are left to fend for ourselves lol.

@chrissagcat good news! how many DPO are you? I’m sure your symptoms will come soon 🤞🏻 Here it’s just feeling sick, no appetite and sore boobs.

I had a word with him last night saying please now don’t say anything else and I don’t think he was best impressed.

penny92 · 29/07/2020 07:29

Is anyone else still getting mild cramping? I have constant dull cramping, and cause it's more to the left side I keep worrying it could be ectopic. I'm sure this is just me being anxious and looking out for problems when there isn't any.

Missyrogan8 · 29/07/2020 07:34

@penny92... I have dull cramping, almost feels like the beginning of period cramping. Had it on off for about a week but so far so good. I also get a little nipping pain to my right some days! I know how you feel any cramping is scary!!.... I don't know too much regarding eptopic maybe tell your doctor if you think the pain is getting worse see what they say? Xxx

Serethiel · 29/07/2020 07:48

I've had odd twinges and the period dull ache I had for the first time last night. I've heard that the stretching is less if it's your second baby. I remember my first pregnancy with my son, ouch! Those stretching pains were awful 😵😵😵 I had to breathe through some of them.

After my bath last night, I began to feel a heaviness in my boobs - that was super reassuring! Usually by my missed AF my boobs are soooooo painful.

Whiteolive, I would be gutted if my other half did that! BUT I've been the one to do it this time 🙈🤦🏼‍♀️ I told my mum and 1 friend. I thought it would be easier if they knew, if something were to happen.

penny92 · 29/07/2020 07:56

Thank you @Missyrogan8 and @Serethiel - that's reassuring.

It will be my first so could be stretching.

I told my partner and he is such a researcher, and thinks I'm basically constipated...which is probably spot on!!

Just good to keep an eye on it just in case of course.

It's so easy to worry about every twinge at this time!

Farfaraway1 · 29/07/2020 08:03

@penny92 have you had en ectopic before? I’ve had one and I think dull cramping is probably better than a short / sharp pain on one particular side. If you are really worried about an ectopic though it would be good to touch base with your GP. In the early stages of pregnancy there are so many twinges and cramps going on, it’s hard to know what’s what!! Confused

penny92 · 29/07/2020 08:06

@Farfaraway1 thank you, yeah I think I'll drop my GP a line to mention it today just as a precaution.

I've not had one before, and this is my first pregnancy so everything is totally new.

As you say, every twinge is like Confused

Farfaraway1 · 29/07/2020 08:18

@penny92 wouldn’t hurt to mention it :) they can tell from a few blood tests that are 48hrs apart if it’s looking like an ectopic or not. Since I’ve had one ectopic before I now get monitored in early pregnancy as I think you’re more at risk of having another one once you’ve had one. Bummer. So I’ll be off to the ‘blood suckers’ (as my mum used to call it) starting this Friday!

Missyrogan8 · 29/07/2020 09:10

I don't know about anyone else but I only get any cramping on an evening, never any other time of the day, if I get any ! odd!! Xx

glastogal · 29/07/2020 09:15

I got loads of cramping around this time with my first pregnancy, I was constantly convinced that AF was about to show up, but I've had none this time. Good to know it's a known difference in subsequent pregnancies - I just worry about everything 🙈

mammii · 29/07/2020 09:33

@Serethiel totally agree! I had bleeding and cramping in my first trimester with my first baby. Also had cramping in second trimester too. It was like really bad period pains, but all was fine. Makes sense that everything has stretched that bit more on the second time round 😊

mammii · 29/07/2020 09:49

@penny92 it's of course better to check with gp, but to reassure you, I've had one sided dull tummy ache on and off for years and it's always linked to constipation. Maybe speak to your gp and drink lots of water. I also find peppermint tea is great for any gastro issues. Hope you feel better soon x

Birnam · 29/07/2020 10:12

I just did another test because I am just so paranoid! It looks like everyone is the same, this is so much more scary than I thought it would be. All I keep thinking about and hearing and reading about is potential for MC.

whiteolive · 29/07/2020 11:03

@Birnam I can’t stop testing, don’t know what I’m hoping for as if something bad will happen it will happen! I think I’m just wanting to check the lines are getting darker which assures me HCG is rising. It’s such a scary time and it’s definitely not what I thought it would be either.

Really trying to step away from Dr Google but easier said than done x

Farfaraway1 · 29/07/2020 11:12

@Birnam how often are you testing? Every day? Are your lines getting darker? I’m going to do my second test tomorrow evening and really hoping to see a difference in the tests. I’m trying so hard to restrain myself from testing morning and night... 🙁 the anxiety is just awful..

MorningOwl · 29/07/2020 11:21

Hi! Thought I'd join.
First pregnancy and due April fools day.
Had no idea I was pregnant and just thought I was late but the test was a strong positive. I'm nearly 5 weeks (have short cycles) and awaiting my letter regarding my scan.
Has anyone else looked into early reassurance scans? Considering booking one at 8ish weeks so my partner can come to the first scan

mrsmummy1111 · 29/07/2020 11:33

Welcome @MorningOwl and congratulations!!! I think most ladies on this thread have / will book early reassurance scans. I've got mine booked for a few weeks time when I'll be 7+2. Technically they say the earliest you can go is 6w but I'd be so annoyed if I got there and they said it was too early. I've booked mine with window to the womb in Croydon (£49 vs £79 at the one closest to me!!) which is who I had my private scans with DS with, but depending where you are I think there's lots of different places that do them Smile

MorningOwl · 29/07/2020 11:55

@mrsmummy1111 I was looking at window to the womb, they seem amazing! We've just booked with meet your miracle, booked it for 22nd as I'll be 8 weeks by then so will hopefully hear a heartbeat

mrsmummy1111 · 29/07/2020 12:01

How exciting @MorningOwl ! We have ours on 16th but feels so far away.

Yes we really like window to the womb, we had an early reassurance scan with them and another 4d scan at 36 weeks and they were great with both. Our 4d scan was a pain as baby had his hand covering his entire face. They sent me off to eat an ice cream and a cold drink, jump up & down, lie upside down on the sofa - the lot 🤣🤣 didn't make a difference. So they let us come back another day. I was secretly hoping that by the time we all get to 12 weeks they might start letting partners into the scan again, but doesn't look likely now.
