Hi everyone.
I noticed our thread was about to fill up, so thought I’d start a new one quick. Hope that’s not too presumptuous of me and have to say thank you to @Sheera1 for starting the thread.

As the title says it’s a discussion thread for any pregnant women who are classed as that bit older for a mum to be.

Copying our list over so we can keep up. If you would like to join please copy and paste the list, adding your own details in date order.

Really hope I’m doing this right! 🙈

2-2 1/2 weeks late.
Just turned 47, good health, been ttc again after tubal reversal in 2002, 3 miscarriages. Periods are very regular (af likes me too much to stay away, lol). Wanting to be excited but fearful to be. LMP was 7-12-20, expected period was due between 8-5 to 8-9. Tested on 8-15, negative. Took the second one with fmu on 8-18. I am aware not to read past recommended time frame, that evap lines are colorless. However, it showed up just past the time frame, but was in color. AF never stays away with a faint positive unless I'm pregnant. Praying we are, scared to get excited to just lose another one. 💔😭
Any thoughts? Prayers greatly appreciated.
I have pics but don't know how to post it.

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 23/08/2020 07:23

@Sheera1 that sounds horrid - especially the tooth!! I've had a wisdom tooth out in pregnancy before - but I can't remember how many weeks I was. I think somewhere in the twenties because I definitely remember having a good size bump but it was 14.5yr ago!! Talking of wisdom teeth my last one - which was meant to be impacted has suddenly started to make an appearance 😆

@CountryGirlForever 🤞🏼🤞🏼for you!! Did you use a FRER test? If not definitely eat one as they are the best imo!

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 23/08/2020 07:31

Get not eat! 😳

CountryGirlForever · 23/08/2020 08:42

@onlyreadingneverposting8 what is frer? Sorry, new to all this thread posting stuff, lol.
I took an equate brand test from walmart after a week to a week in a half past expected period.

onlyreadingneverposting8 · 23/08/2020 09:03

@CountryGirlForever first response early response- they're probably the most reliable very sensitive test on the market.

AliasGrape · 23/08/2020 09:19

@Sheera1 that sounds awful what an ordeal. Good luck with dentist hope they get you sorted and pain free ASAP Flowers

@Realladymarmalade sorry for your stressful day too. Am glad your DP and da test results were negative. I’d be tempted to take dc out of school too.

@CountryGirlForever fingers crossed for you

Realladymarmalade · 23/08/2020 10:53

Thanks everyone for your well wishes..I'm swaying towards keeping them out of school as I want to see what happens this week with the outbreak. They will.go back when bubba arrives as keeping them out any longer is unreasonable. Unless rates continue to spike. I already have them wearing masks on the corridor.

In the mean time more (Tmi sorry ) plug/brown mucousy stuff coming out. It's a gorgeous day here so I am planning on a long walk + curry ...

Jesus Sheera wishing you luck.
Tooth extraction is hideous but better out than in . I have dental issues despite a:lifetime of obsessing. Just rubbish teeth so I know how awful the pain is. You are very brave to get yourself out there despite pain. I couldn't move at all when I had my episodes. The car thing is just another ballache. Very beautiful that way

Since my dd aged 6 I've been battling severe gum disease..I had some appointments lined up to get mines cleaned and do some work but covid put pay to that. I suspect things are a lot worse now despite my efforts

Realladymarmalade · 23/08/2020 10:54

dufferedup hows things ? 🤔

Sheera1 · 23/08/2020 11:29

Tee hee. Ballaches! That is exactly what I said. Lol. This trip will go down in history! At the dental hospital now. Thinking worst case wisdom tooth extraction and stitches as they might need to cut it out of my gum but bracing for it. Best case. Antibiotics and see how it goes and a few days more pain. The pain was manageable and came and went or I wouldn't have come up, and didn't want to disappoint, but it has just got worse and worse. Was 4am before I slept last night.

@Sheera1 let us know how you get on and good luck xxx

footprintsintheslow · 23/08/2020 13:33

@Sheera1 hope you are home safely sounds like a cocking nightmare or a day and night.

@CountryGirlForever good luck and hopefully congratulations!

Sheera1 · 23/08/2020 14:13

Hi ya. So they extracted my wisdom tooth in the end. Came out cleanly enough. Anesthetic wearing off so feeling a bit bashed about but there was no choice. Heading back later. My car will be stuck here 🤦‍♀️. My partner will drive his little sisters car so I have upset set her as I didn't want her to drive. I feel terrible. If I wasn't so pregnant I would let her drive, but the roads are really bad, it is pissing it down, she is a relatively new driver so no experience of things going wrong or other people causing issues by being stupid. I am sure she is a great driver but she has a small old car which is not the safest and not used to a full car of people. She is an incessant talker so I worry about her focusing on the road. I just feel at 27 weeks pregnant if there is an issue, my partner who is a very experienced driver will have a better chance of avoiding a crash than her. People will be rushing home and pissed off the road is closed and having to go a long way round so will be really busy and full of idiots
I know I have slighted her a bit but I would be freaking out the whole time and it is 3/4 hours drive. 😬

Sheera1 · 23/08/2020 14:13

Am I being overly cautious and ridiculous?

CountryGirlForever · 23/08/2020 14:22

@AliasGrape thank you
@onlyreadingneverposting8, it was the generic form of that test

CountryGirlForever · 23/08/2020 14:27

Here is my test results 😊

@Sheera1 better out than in but feeling for you!! I had a terrible recovery from having a molar out in December (well I say terrible - maybe I was just wimpy) I found sitting with an ice pack on the outside very comforting. As for the driving - I think it's perfectly reasonable just to want your partner right now - no explanations needed! Xx

@CountryGirlForever well I can definitely see two lines! Congratulations!

Sheera1 · 23/08/2020 14:54

Thanks @@onlyreadingneverposting8 ice pack is a good idea. It is starting to throb bad. 🤦‍♀️ Thank you for not making me feel a total witch about the car and driving lark. Xx

Clarkel1 · 23/08/2020 15:48

Hi everyone, just catching up on the posts haven't been on in a while, how are you all? Well that's me 20 weeks today still can't believe it after all the bleeds, pain fibroids heamatomas etc 😂 I actually feel pretty good now week apart from headaches, god they are painful, anyone else getting headaches? I am also having some what seems like braxton hicks every couple of days I google it and says can happen, never expected that. So ache goes ridged and then calms down 🤢 also was at the widowed other day and have sugar showing up in urine so they want to keep an eye for gestational diabetes so hopefully it won't come to that. Was at the pram centre today, omg how expensive are peaks now, I'm ten years out of the game so have no clue what I want but I know I don't want to pay £1000 for a pram, has anyone bought the infababy or simelar? I want something with a good handle height as I'm tall. Xxx

Frazzlerock · 23/08/2020 16:28

Hey all

Blimey @Sheera1 you've really been through it haven't you 😢 FWIW I think you're doing the right thing. You and baby comes first so don't worry about your sister's feelings, she should really be more understanding.

@Realladymarmalade I agree with the others, keep the DC off school. I'm nervous about sending mind back in a week and there's not even been an outbreak recently down here.

@CountryGirlForever best of luck! I can't see anything as the picture is quite blurry (or my eyes are
🤓) but 🤞!!

@onlyreadingneverposting8 are we eating preg tests now? 🤣🤣

Love that blanket pattern and interested in the idea of crocheting with two colours at the same time!
I've been doing this (pic) was it you who recommended the 6 Day Kid blanket? Maybe not... but I love the pattern, it will take me longer than 6 days though! Not helped by running out of yarn!

@Clarkel1 whoop for halfway!! And hopefully no more bleeding. Has the haematoma gone now?
Yep prams are enormously expensive. Ours was silly money but hoping we can sell it on afterwards. Plus I've been putting money aside since our first little loss baby so I've had a few years to save up. I feel like I deserve it 😬

Well I'm well and truly obsessed by cloth nappies. I've put a ban on buying anymore until baby is here so we can see what fits him/her.
But I do have some still yet to arrive in the post. I just love them! I need to get a life I think 😂

Thread 2 for us classed as more mature pregnant ladies
onlyreadingneverposting8 · 23/08/2020 19:08

@Frazzlerock now that blanket is truly fab! Stripes, waves and fancy stitching! Love the colours you've chosen. Arrr the nappy addiction...it's a rabbit hole to fall down isn't it?! The newborn nappies are so blinking cute!!

The eating tests made me giggle too...to be fair I bet there is a few of us that have practically got that far at times!

@Clarkel1 great to hear you've made the half way point! When is your anomaly scan? When is your 28week scan @Frazzlerock? Mine is 3rd Sept. Consultant the same day.

How's everyone sleeping - particularly @Frazzlerock @Sheera1. I'm waking up loads and then can't go back to sleep until I've felt the baby move...I'm getting very paranoid and anxious about things. I got like this last time but everytime I told the midwife (not that I've even seen one this time) she just dismissed it. Weirdly, I had terrible post natal anxiety (no depression) with my 5th & 6th - was ok with my 7th and then got prenatal anxiety last time but was ok after he was born.

footprintsintheslow · 23/08/2020 19:44

@Clarkel1 I'm 20 weeks today too.
And I'm tall, so I'd recommend a Silver cross as the handles extend. I bet there's loads of makes that do that. But I can defo vouch for silvercross. Mine was 2nd and immaculate

footprintsintheslow · 23/08/2020 19:48

@onlyreadingneverposting8 @Frazzlerock
I've made baskets using up to 7 balls of wool. It's easier than it sounds and you can make them using all the scraps of small bits you have left. There's an American woman on YouTube that's a bit annoying but she's a good teacher.

Clarkel1 · 23/08/2020 19:51

@Frazzlerock @onlyreadingneverposting8 my scan is on Thursday for the abnomally scan done hope it all goes well 🙏 I am massive well I feel I am anyway, in fact no I am 😂 I have a beach all belly but all feels very low and lots of pressure down there, how can something still so tiny cause such a big tummy 🤣 I had silver cross with my little girl ten years ago I like them but I found it quite heavy x
